Just returned from 2 weeks at this resort. This is a 3 star hotel, so don't expect 4 or 5 star service as it seems some guests did. The apartments are divided into 1 bedroom and 2 put-me up beds in the living room. For our kids who hate sharing a double bed with each... more

Wow, after reading some of the reviews on the Green Garden resort we were a little worried, but there was no need to be. To be greeted by the friendly reception, check-in was a breeze. Then off to the room, looks like a standard room when you go in, then we saw the stairs... more

Firstly, we compliment the size of the rooms, they could not be faulted. First problem was the issue with the sun loungers, not enough to go around, therefore having to get up at 7am to get your spec and await the unchaining of the sunbeds. You had to wait for the sunbeds... more

Nothing to worry about
We read reviews on this resort after we booked it and were extremely worried! We needn't have been. Security was our main worry, as our 10 yr old daughter would be sleeping in the lounge on her own! The balcony was very secure, with a high wire fence (Didn't restrict the wonderful view!). Just to be on the safe side, we kept the door locked at night. There were lockable vented shutters and glass patio doors, you could use one or the other or both. Despite the heat, as we were out most of the day and kept the shutter down, the apartment stayed cool, so the heat wasn't a problem with the door locked. The place was immaculate, not a cockroach in sight, clean towels everyday, bedlininen regularly changed. Poole was lovely, nicely laid out. Staff helpful and friendly. Food fairly good, average UK prices, cheaper and more variety in town though. No cash on sight, you put cash or credit card over the reception and pay using your room key. Watch out that teenagers don't overspend without you knowing! Bus service reliable and regular, taxi's cheap. Would definately go there again.
Look Beyond the Landscape Gardens
On arrival this resort was very impressive. A bit too far from the resort, it was a nice enough walk to the resort apart from the gravel path at the top of the hill - it was covered in condoms and at night men could be seen lurking in the bushes. The resort had a policy for the sun loungers but the residents seem to claim all the loungers for people who never showed up, in the end i lifted a towel from a lounger and got a right mouthful from a resident who said it was for her grand child (who was sleeping in the apartment) I used the lounger for about 2 hours and there was no sign of this child when i was leaving. A lot of robbery in the complex and the staff tried to hide this fact. Because of this we kept our shutters and doors closed so the apartment did not feel very welcoming. Apartments were basic and ours was full of ants & roaches, cleaners were not very thorough. Our sheets were only changed once. Entertainment is dreadful I would not return to this resort, but maybe we just got a bad week after all other people loved this place. I think it is just luck on what room you get and what other guests are like.
Highly recommend
we stayed at the resort from the 14th until the 21st april 2006 and cannot recommend the resort highly enough. we stayed in apt 19 which is a 2 storey duplex apartment beside the mini market and swimming pool. The accommodation which was extremely clean and well maintained, was huge! Our 3 children were able to sleep downstairs where they had their own bathroom and a large terrace. Upstairs, was the living room, kitchen, balcony, our bedroom and a shower room/toilet. One word of warning though - all the floors are marble and can be extremely slippy when wet, so when stepping out of the shower or bath, put a towel down first. we read a lot of reviews before we went warning us of problems with security, which to be honest concerned us. But we did not hear of any thefts during our stay, and providing you had the sense to lock the windows and doors when you left the apt, we couldn't imagine there could be a problem. We used the security box facility behind reception to keep our passports, tickets and spare cash, and found this to be extremely secure. Do'nt waste your time trying to find a supermarket for your everyday groceries, the minimarket on site is reasonably priced. So unless you want to haul heavy bags uphill from the town in 30 degree heat, buy your food at the complex. Do take a trip however, to buy your beer, sangria and kids drinks and ice cream somewhere else - the fridges are massive - so a walk to 'Supermercado' in los Christianos ( 20 mins) and a taxi back is worthwhile. The complex is a 20 min walk to Las Americas which is fine - its downhill all the way and only a 5 euro ride away when you want back again. We hope to return in the near future.
Poor hotel with hardworking staff
I have just arrived from a 2 weeks stay at the Green Golf Resort and I'm sorry to say that I can't recommend it. The first apartment was dark (we later changed to another one), the beds uncomfortable, the bathroom did not reach modern standard (impossible to adjust hot/warm water! Waterheating facilities insufficient) and the bedroom was frequently visited by cockroaches. The restaurant was dark, you could hardly find your plate, and the half board menu limited. The restaurant was understaffed and you had to wait a long time before they noticed you and took your orders. On the whole the establishment appears greedy-The resort charges you 4 euros/24 hours to watch national television (TVE etc)!!! Children have to pay to use the ping-pong table....However, the SPANISHSPOKEN staff, especially the cleaning and bar staff, was very helpful and efficient. The breakfast was great and the pool area lovely.
The worst hol ever
I stayed here in june and we were told to keep balcony doors locked if you are looking out onto the golf course. That was a lie because it obviously didnt make any difference which way your balcony was facing as we were robbed regardless. There was no signs of a break in meaning they had keys!!! All members of staff were very unhelpful considering we were two young girls on our own. Be warned as our things were locked away it didnt stop them.
Enjoyed Green Golf Resort
Well, what can I say. Stayed here for a week over the new year. Found the apartment to be of very high standard. Well furnished. Microwave, toaster, electric kettle, coffee maker 2 ring electric cooker and oven. Kitchen had a breakfast bar with two stools. It also contained a table with four chairs. Two couches that could comfortably seat four adults and a large balcony. Having read some of the previous reviews, which were most unfavourable, I got the impression that you would need a frying pan beside you as you slept at night. This is a quite resort, a good 35 minutes walk down to the town. Walked this a few times both there and back, no problem. I would recommend these apartments with no hesitation. These apartments are right on the golf course, ideal if you are a golfer. Finally, as and from the 1st January, 2006, smoking is not permitted inside of the restaurants, both in mainland spain and the canaries.
Too far from anything...
We stayed at the Green Golf almost a year ago. We had numerous problems: No hot water: we had no hot water for the whole week, after telling reception they would send a man to fix something in the heater but we would still have to wait half an hour for the water to heat up for the shower. Then when we used it there was only enough for one person and half a shower for the other. I used the one in reception for most of the stay, but I am sure that the other residents didn't appreciate me traipsing through the hotel in my towel. Room: Was ok, but no air-conditioning, which for the price we paid, you would expect. Some money and makeup was stolen from our room, which we reported and of course they didn't do anything about. Staff: Reception staff unfriendly and unhelpful. Location: Unless you are a family with young children happy to stay by the pool, are keen on Golf or have loads of money for taxis into town I wouldn't recommend staying here. Facilities: Pool was ok, we went at low season so got enough sunbeds. Food shop you have to pay for on your room card though - not cash, which makes it harder to keep tabs on what you are spending. Entertainment: We attended a Kareoke night which was fun as we were the only ones brave enough to get up and sing so we embraced that. There was also a singer one night and a guy playing a guitar, but then again surely you go to Las Americas for the rubbish bars and clubs in the town - don't you? Personally I won't be going back there, the only good thing was the sandy beach and I think that was in Los Cristianos - go there instead and make sure you don't make the mistake of walking into Las Americas. LP
Excellent
We just returned from a great week at the green golf resort with our one and a half year old son. We were very pleased with the apartments they were spacious clean and nicely decorated. The cleaning staff clean 5 times a week. The pool and grounds were nice and I can recommend the buffet breakfast, which had plety of and a nice selection of food. The restuarant was nice but under staffed and therefore service slow. We will definitely go back.
Loved the Green Golf
We have just returned from a week's holiday at the Green Golf, and were delighted with it. We are a family of two adults and two children, but travelled as part of a larger family group to celebrate the grandparents' ruby wedding anniversary. Having read some unfavourable reviews, we were apprehensive before travelling, to say the least. We were, however, very pleasantly surprised, and the Green Golf lived up to its well earned reputation as a high standard accommodation. We had a penthouse apartment which was spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen was very well kitted out, probably the best we've come across, and included full oven, fridge freezer, and a wide range of utensils. The children had camp beds that were comfortable and folded neatly away. There was lots of storage space, and a little balcony off the main bedroom as well as a spacious balcony off the lounge area. There was no bath, just a shower, but it suited us fine. The grounds were colourful and well maintained, and the pool area was lovely, though some guests still insisted on reserving sunbeds from very early morning despite the fact that it is not allowed. The buffet breakfast at the pool bar was very good, all contained within a small side room, but had everything you could want. There was a Manaager's welcome cocktail party, where the manager spoke to all of the guests to ask if everyting was alright, and if there was anyting else we needed. They even presented us with a lovely anniversary cake when they heard that it was a special occasion. Food at the Sahara Restaurant was excellent, but service very slow, so be prepared for a long wait. The courtesy bus is excellent for going to Playa de Las Americas during the day, and if you stay longer, then a taxi back is only about 5 euros. There are lots of restaurants to choose from, but we enjoyed the "musical dining experience" at the Pyramid Restaurant, part of Mare Nostrum resort, where the waiters do some of the singing to well known classical tunes. All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable holiday, and we woulld have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation.
Excellent
We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Green Golf Resort and were very pleased. There were 2 of us and the apartment was extremely spacious and clean. They have also got security screens on the windows and doors so you can leave the windows open at night. The surroundings were beautiful and peaceful during the days and in the evenings. The security boxes are in a room in reception which is locked ask reception for the key and return it when finished. The staff at the hotel are very friendly. It is further out of town but Playa de las Americas is easily reached by taxi or about a 15/20 min walk on a path way away from the road. Playa de las Americas is nice in certain parts and I would especially recommend the Hereford Bull Bar which has a different Caberet artist on every night,Kareoke and is very family orientated. We are returning to the Green Golf in May.
