Great Family Break

Just returned from 2 weeks at this resort. This is a 3 star hotel, so don't expect 4 or 5 star service as it seems some guests did. The apartments are divided into 1 bedroom and 2 put-me up beds in the living room. For our kids who hate sharing a double bed with each other and beinh in one hotel room with their parents, this was heaven for them. They are 11 and 7 and enjoyed the day and night time entertainment. As it is a small complex with only 1 entrance/exit, the children were able to wander without much worry, during the gaps in entertainment. For the size of the complex (circa 120 rooms), the pool is an adequate size. The food is basic (chicken, veal, fish, potatoes, salads), but their is plenty of choice.
Our kids loved it and had a whale of a time, which meant we could relax and soak up the sun.
You will see reviews where people complain about the food & Drink, but in my eyes you get what you pay for. If you want a la carte, pay more and go to a 4 star or 5 star. If you are a fussy eater you may be better to take a self catering option.
We would have no problem returning to this hotel again.

  • Advice: If you want a lounger by the pool, get up early. If your not bothered their were always some available through out the day.

Iam usually the last to complain about anything but having returned from the worst holiday ive ever had i thought i had to warn others before they also wasted good hard earned money.Do not go to the Green Gardens hotel in Tenerife. As an all inclusive customer you get the worst of treatment.
Firstly upon arrival we entered a small old fashioned reception and booked in,we were given a map and told our room was where the cross is.After arriving at midnight i thought maybe there would have been someone to assist with luggage.
When we got to the room we discovered there was 1 bedroom with 2 beds and both kids had to sleep on camp beds although the brouchure said 1 bedroom with beds in the lounge area...Beds not camp beds and we paid full adult price for the older child.
i went to reception thinking we were put in wrong room
but was told this was the only room available we were not even offered an upgrade.
The following morning we spoke to the rep who said he would look into moving us to another hotel....that was the last we saw of him for 3 days by which time we had decided to fight this any longer would spoil the rest of the holiday.
The hotel does not look like pictures in the brouchure there is only 1 pool split into two and its on the small size. The sun beds are all squashed together and you are left with noroom to move.
All inclusive ....Drinks are all in the smallest plastic cups money can buy so your running to the bar all the time or you have to bring a lot of drinks back at once .
The beer is awful and often so fizzy you can only get froth into your plastic cup,and the staff wont fix it because your not paying...the wine is rancid and flies around the pumps.
There is 1 restaurant which is small but nice enough looking but the food is unedible...chinese night is a real treat..one look and we walked into town to buy our meal.
They offered us free entry to the new water park, but if you get the first bus you may get on to ridas until 11 oclock.after that there are delays of up to an hour on all rides.
By the end of the holiday we were glad to leave...and will never go to spain or a spanish island again,we were treated like second rate citezens by the staff, its like weve got your money so now we can get more out of the non inclusive guests.
We have been on lots of all inclusive holidays and have found them excellent until we had the misfortune to go to the green garden.
We spoke to the rep and filled in a form at the hotel showing our discust but no body has bothered to contact us with even an appology.I hope i have warned any one thinking of going here...Its the pits.

The Green Garden Resort was beautifully landscaped and clean 2 lovely sized pools with a mini jacuzzi beside the restaurant. We went all inclusive (4 kids) and i have to say the food was delicious different theme nights the bbq nite was fab! no shortage of food and drink and icecreams and drinks for kids all day long made it great as they played in the pool all day. There is a no cash policy on site which is good but the little shop was quite expensive (for around a fiver u get a taxi into los cristianos for cheap shopping)Only problem we had was kids left a white psp on their bed and the cleaner must have not seen it to change sheets so it was lost! again a trip into cristanos to buy a new psp was a lot cheaper than home! And on one occasion a little gekko arrived in our room along with a cockroach as there are little gaps under the doors!!! I would advise taxis in and out if you have kids especially but its a lot cheaper than home for taxis. Parrot show was excellent and kids loved it and the falcon show was cool too. Aqualand and Siam Park amazing shows for kids only 10 mins away as well as loro park for the birds. Allround a fab trip i would definitely recommend!!!

First, excuse me for my poor english..
Me and my family from Sweden stayed here from late December 2010 and over to the new year. I must say we really had a nice holliday here the staff were very friendly and helpfull and it was nice and clean at the entire resort. the food was ok not super but really ok. We booked "all inclusive" and i would recommend others to do so to,you can eat as much as you want 3times a day + snacks between meals and most important you can drink as much beer you want all day (vikings get thirsty in the heat...;) I was a bit worried over safety for my family at first when we walked down to the city center(10min walk)but i soon relaxed about that,,only thing is watch out for the cabdrivers!they drive like they stole the car so you need to wear your safetybelt.. People were wery friendly and polite,we saw mostly english and scandinavian tourists there (felt almost like home)some shop owners can be a bit pushy but all the time wery polite and friendly. Long story short we had a nice holliday there and i can really recommend it. And i also (If you happen to read this "Mr Yorkshire") would like to send an hello to the friendly guy from England ho stayed there same time we did.

Wow, after reading some of the reviews on the Green Garden resort we were a little worried, but there was no need to be. To be greeted by the friendly reception, check-in was a breeze. Then off to the room, looks like a standard room when you go in, then we saw the stairs heading down, we had the biggest room, flat screen tv, and own bathroom with double sink, bath and shower, my 3 girls shared the other large room, and they had thier own bathroom, bliss!! The pool was spotless, enough sun beds to go round. We went self-catering, it is aimed more at all-inclusive, but did not bother us ay all. The shop on site is only open a few hours at a time,or you took a walk into town, having to agree with other reviews, the walk is not great, because the ladys of the night do the deed along the path, so a cab ride into town is only 5 euros. Everything is so clean and tidy, all the staff had smiles all day. The only gripe i have is with First choice,we did not see a rep for the whole two weeks, so we booked all our trips with the Thomas Cook rep, they were great, even though we did not book with them. Overall i would recomend the Green Garden Resort, we would look to book again.

Everything about the resort was perfect! We stayed in 2 bedroom apartment (with upstairs and downstairs) the rooms were spacious and much more than we expected. We had read previous reviews after booking and became a little unsure whether we had made the right choice.....We had! We had booked 3 rooms in total and every one of us was astounded by the complex. Staff were friendly, cleaners worked hard and the food was AMAZING (we've had some very unpredictable food in spanish hotels before) We will all be going back in the near future
Main resort was only a 10-15 minute walk but due to having some people with medical issues we caught taxi's at around 5 euros!!!
Only one small issue, if you're not all inclusive it is very hard to buy things within the hotel as the bar and shop do not except cash. You have to use your door key as a top card, add money to it so you can buy things, although all money not spent is refunded.
BUT ALL INCLUSIVE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AS IT WORKS OUT ALOT CHEAPER AND IS GOOD QUALITY, YOU CAN SIGN UP TO ALL INCLUSIVE WHEN YOU ARRIVE!!!

Holiday 2009

Firstly, we compliment the size of the rooms, they could not be faulted. First problem was the issue with the sun loungers, not enough to go around, therefore having to get up at 7am to get your spec and await the unchaining of the sunbeds. You had to wait for the sunbeds to be un-locked every morning. The Pool Bar was open, food went down hill as the fortnight went on. The Restaurant was not opened, apparently only opened during winter, to me seems crazy as summer is busy time, so there was no alternative for all-inclusive people. The Taxi's of an evening made their own rates up, it was never the same, we are not talking small amounts..... another issue was that the bar closed at 11am which to me is too early for inclusive people, 12 o'clock seems adequate time to close, 11pm is slightly early. The entertainment in the evening was on a weekly rota, so those booking 2 weeks see the same thing. We did recommend a fortnightly rota. The entertainment is also over by 11pm. The day time has some activities for the children, not much, they tend to keep themselves occupied. If the bar was opened slightly later, the entertainment was resolved and they supplied enough sun-beds to go around the people booking the apartments, this could have been a very high score, unfortunately not on this ocassion. If you do go off the complex, make sure you take plenty of money, its very expensive to eat/drink in the local towns.....

I have mixed feelings about Green Golf Resort. On the plus side…Two of us stayed in a one bedroom apt which was clean and a fair size and well equipped. I was impressed with the complex which was very well kept, tidy and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We only ate in the bar for lunch a couple of times but the food was of a good standard and very reasonably priced. Not using cash and charging it to the room made things nice and easy.
However, on the downside…the pool area was very cramped and what was with the ridiculously loud music that was constantly played all day? Made it impossible to read, sleep, relax or sometimes make yourself heard. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind loud music but playing (the same cd’s) all day long around the pool seemed totally inappropriate. We gave up with the pool and used one of the main beaches in Los Cristianos. Also, the reserving of sun beds by some people was unnecessary as there were plenty (too many in fact); some were being reserved all day and not used till late afternoon and it was not the usual culprits!
The onsite shop catered for your basic needs but was very expensive. We used a local supermarket and just used the onsite shop for bottled water.
The location of the resort in the middle of the golf course made it nice and quiet with a bit of a walk into PDLA or Los Cristianos which was fine during the day but not so pleasant at night. The main road is a pickup place for prostitutes and the track that runs along side is littered with used condoms – not very nice. We felt quite unsafe walking back late at night a couple of times. Probably best to get a cab back after a night out.
This was our first visit to Tenerife. The weather was not the best, very cloudy for a third of the two weeks and it rained 3 or 4 times (although only for a few mins). A vist to El Teide is a must and although expensive, taking the cable car to the top should definately be done.
On reflection, even with some of the negative points, we did have a good holiday and the stay at Green Golf was ok but doubt we would stay there again.

Sep 2008, Mr D G Sutton

Excellent holiday we went as a four (2 Couples) and really enjoyed it. The accommodation were really clean and worth the money. The pool and bar were all good through the day, although the food in the bar wasnt the best but it was ok. The use of a key card rather than money in the resort was better as you are less likely to lose money. And the security deposit boxes were in reception in a safe locked room which was also safer and better in my opinion. As for the weather it was excellent one day it even reached 40 degrees celsius and most days it was 30 - 38. only one day it was overcast but still about 25 degrees. The only bad thing were the reception staff on the final day as they were not very helpful when asking questions about keeping the room on (which we couldnt) and keeping the safe on. But apart from this it was excellent and a great holiday, i would highly reccommend and go back myself.

Just returned from Green Golf in Las Americas Tenerife for the second time and again we have had a fantastic time. The staff team are spot on and couldn't be more helpful. Its spotlessly clean. The bar staff are great as well as model looking good and the food is delicious and well priced. The entertainment was ok but needs up dating a bit. We got friendly with the entertianment manager and spoke at length about it. The hotel manager also listened and welcomed any suggestions that would make things better. Going to check availability for next year so would highly recomend Green Golf Resort www.golfresortstenerife.com Tel no 0034 922787760

We stayed here in July 2008, the Hotel was amazing. We stayed on a self catering basis but did buy breakfast, lunch and dinner on a couple of separate occasions. We found out with a day to go that for 30euro a day you could upgrade to all inclusive. The 8 of us regreted it as it would have said the breakfast problems and supermarket runs.
The downside to the hotel is that you need to upgrade your room card with money in the reception to use in the bar or the onsite shop. The bar was reasonably enough priced for tenerife but the shop was dear. The problem fell was that it was a good 15 - 20 mins walk into town to find another shop. So go all inclusive, i highly recommend it. The food was a buffet breakfast, it was gorgeous, the lunches were a standard snack menu, and the dinner was a well prepared evening meal.
As the for the pool, The hotel has 2 pools, one which they let children bring their inflatable toys in and the other more for swimming. And best of all one jacuzzi. The pool was extremely clean. THe pool side had loads of sunbeds and umbrellas, the floor surface is covered with astroturf to stop your feet getting burnt, a nice addition in 30+ heat.
We had two apartments between the 8 of us. Both 1 bedroom, which two beds in the living room. The rooms were of a good size, had a decent kitchen and a lovely big balcony. The rooms were cleaned nearly everyday except Sunday.
As the hotel was slightly out of the town, we walked in most nights but got a taxi back, it usually worked out about 4 - 6 euro to get from the centre of town back. wasnt too bad and no problem getting on.
Being the Green golf, its built in the middle of Playa Des Las Americas golf course, I am a keen golfer and it looked fantastic, it was out of season being july but still in perfect knick. About 85euro per round but as we were guests it would have only been 45Euro. Club rental if required would be 20euro and a cart 20euro.
As the for the weather, we couldnt complain, it was between 30 - 38 degrees all week and lovely and sunny.
As the for the hotel staff, they couldnt do enough, any problems or questions I was treated with a very efficent and polite answer.
I will be back at Green Golf again in the near future, hopefully for a few rounds of golf, but i highly recommend it for all groups. We were a group of 8 guys in our mid twenties looking for a relaxed but fun holiday, which we found. We met people of all ages, familys with young children and also young lively ones looking to party, the main thing was our hotel had a policy of no noise after i think it was 10 or half 10 which was great. The staff were vigilant regarding this and suited us to the ground.
All in all, I have done and will recommend this hotel to everyone, I was extremely impressed. The only pity was that i didnt know about the All inclusive earlier.
