Stayed in August 2006 and like other comments we were a little worried by reviews we read after booking. We found these reviews to be unfounded, the security was good even more so if you took two minutes of your time to secure the apartment.
The apartments were clean on arrival and were cleaned everyday except Wednesdays & Sundays which was clearly stated in the literature on arrival.
The resort operates a no cash system which works well as long as you keep a check on your spending daily and tie your receipts up to your balance sheet which you can request at anytime.
The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. The pool was clean and well maintained. The down sides were.....NO air conditioning or fans in the rooms......and the entertainment...GABRIEL was awful.
If you have read about used condoms littered along the pathway when you walk to the beach...DON'T walk down the pathway, use the roadside pavement!!!
Would return again.

We were quite worried about this resort, because after we booked it we found a considerable number of negative reviews! Don't worry, it was lovely.
The place was immaculate, very clean and well looked after, not a cockroach in sight! We had a small 'Ant Attack' on the balcony, mainly due to my daughter leaving food out there!
Despite it being our biggest worry, there were no security problems at all, we felt very safe, although for added piece of mind, it would be nice to have a working 'deadlock' on the doors, so that even if you have a key card you can't get in.
Poole was beautiful, nice temperature and well laid out. Food from the bar (1 only) was quite good, average price by UK standards, but expensive compared to the restaurants in town.
Bus was reliable, taxi's cheap, staff helpful. Most of the people who complain must be very hard to please! We would go there again.

The rooms are a high standard, could do with fans or air con, very hot at night. Very well presented resort with palms etc everywhere, fab pool very clean. Good pool bar & restaurant with friendly staff. Courtesy bus into main resort shopping area & near beach 5 times a day, over all very nice place for a relaxing holiday.
When you choose this resort be warned that you cannot use money on site, you will need to leave a credit card number with reception or pay 300 euros in advance, everything you then buy food, drinks, supermarket etc you give your room number then sign a receipt.
Reception is very helpful any problems are sorted very quickley, maid service with clean towels everyday.

We were very lucky to have won a stay at this resort. Firstly, the accommodation is really very nice - we stayed in a one bed roomed apartment with pull out beds in the lounge for the kids - the beds are nicely hidden behind nice furniture during the day - in fact the room was one of the nicest we have ever stayed in - only downside was the marble finishing’s used to decorate the rooms seemed also to include the bed (brick hard).
We did use the kitchen to cook food for our family and were delighted to have such good facilities and a full sized fridge.
The balconies on the complex are huge - we had our sunbeds on the balcony so we could choose to lie in the shade - the pool area is beautiful, but not a lot of shaded areas.
Wish I could say more about the food but sadly it was stunningly average.
All in all, still have a high opinion of the Green Golf and would return again (this time as a paying guest) but would opt for a two bed roomed apartment.

We stayed at the Villa Mandi for a week over the Easter break.
Villa Mandi is situated between Los Cristianos and Las Americas.
We were originally put into apartment number 227 (avoid it!) which backed onto a road. Our first night there we were woken at 4.15am with the bins being wheeled passed our apartment to the dustcart. We were then woken again at 7.30am with the bins going back! The road itself wasn’t too bad, but once you’re awake in the wee small hours of the morning you seem to hear everything. It would be unfair for me to say that the road was very noisy/busy, but it certainly was not quiet.
After speaking with the very friendly reception staff, they did manage to move us the next day to an apartment away from the road.
The apartments themselves were very clean and were cleaned daily.
We stayed in a 2-bedroom duplex apartment, which was extremely spacious and had spectacular views of the golf course. Both bedrooms had 2 single beds and double built-in wardrobes. The lounge area was also very spacious with a pull out bed. The 'self catering' kitchen was a little less than what I would expect from 4 star accommodations. It consisted of only two cooking rings, a microwave, a couple of small saucepans and a coffee percolator. There was no kettle. (Lots of glasses, plates etc). There were only two of us in the apartment and we did not attempt to cook. With the minimal cooking facilities provided and really not much sideboard space in the kitchen, I’m not too sure how you could cook, especially for the maximum amount of people that this apartment could hold.
The two bathrooms were great - both had baths as well as showers.
We did try the breakfast one morning - and decided that it wasn’t for us!
The complex itself is going to become Thomson Superfamily this summer. There was a well-equipped playground for the children, although the children’s paddling pool did seem to be small.
The complex was fully booked over the Easter holidays and there did always seem to be enough sunbeds around the pools.
We were a bit disappointed that the bar closed at 12am - there were a few of us sitting there with our drinks and all the lights were turned off dead on 12oclock and we were asked to leave!
The nearest restaurants were a 10minute or so walk away. The walk was quite dull as there isn’t much surrounding Villa Mandi but new apartments being built. (no noise was ever heard from the building works)
Las Americas is about 20 mins walk. We did not walk to Los Cristianos - it seemed a bit too far so always got a taxi. I don’t think that the taxis were ever anymore than 5 euros.
We would return to Villa Mandi as a couple, but not too sure if we would go there with our three young children. I have to admit that we didn’t do much 'exploring' around the complex, but from what we did see there didn’t seem to be an awful lot to do for the children...... and there’s nothing worse than hearing 'Mum I’m bored' throughout your holiday! Although having said that, things may change between now and summer when it becomes super family?
I have tried to give an honest opinion on Villa Mandi and write about things which are important to me when I am trying to choose holiday accommodation.

Excellent accommodation, spacious well furnished with good kitchen facilities. The labour of keeping the complex spotlessly clean could be seen daily. All the staff are friendly and always keen to help.
There’s quite a walk down to the main centre of PDLA although a free daytime bus was available, but it was worth the walk just to be out of the hub bub when you need a good night’s sleep.
There was the occasional wait for a sunbed around pool area but in general it’s well controlled, no reserving of beds with towels allowed. We managed to lay ourselves down after a short wait, but remember this was August and the peak period.
The resort of Las Americas does not get the same praise. The constant (and I mean constant) hassling whilst passing bars and restaurants is a pain, and over a period of two weeks wares you down. Give us break will you lads and lasses, were on holiday.
Recommended bars and eateries? Try the Mamma Rosa for excellent food and top notch service at a reasonable price. Also for a slightly down market (but not necessarily less quality) try The Wigan Pier very reasonably priced good quality faire and the entertainment is also good. My final recommendation is The Dubliner pub - again really good atmosphere and a good craic

We stayed in the Sovereign Villa on this complex, and can’t praise it highly enough.
Green Golf Resort is set amidst beautiful gardens and fountains and has 2 pools, one of which was heated - a must in March.
Cleanliness throughout the resort was superb, and the staff were extremely helpful.
The villa itself was very well designed, on 2 levels with a bedroom, bathroom and lounge on each floor. The villa swimming pool wasn’t overlooked and both the garden and balconies were a reasonable size.
Las Americas was a disappointment, however. Although there is a ‘posh’ Spanish shopping centre, the rest of the town is English pubs and tacky gift shops. Avoid the Veronicas area at night if you are not a fan of binge-drinkers and kebabs.
The beachfront is pleasant, but timeshare touts besieged us. These were invariably English, and rude. They would follow you for 50 metres, getting more and more persistent, until you reached the next tout’s ‘patch’, when they would take over.
I would return to Green Golf, but stay by the pool and enjoy a rest!

A group of us were going on holiday and wanted something that was nice but cheap! We went to co-op travel and booked, at first we weren’t too keen as the resort in las americas was quite far from the town centre but it only cost £300 for two weeks.
When we got off the plain in tenerife, nothing was too much trouble for the rep we had, she explained everything very detailed and accurate when i think back.
When we got to the resort it was lovely, fountains and everything was marble and posh, the staff there were very helpful and quickly gave us keys and showed us where our apartments were.
Well the apartments how nice, the were two levelled ones, on the top floor you had your kitchen with breakfast bar, dining table, living room with tv and outside a balcony with table and chairs, downstairs you had your bathroom and bedroom and another balcony with sun loungers in.
The place in general was very clean and tidy and all the staff made us feel welcomed.
In the daytime there was a free bus service running to the centre and to the beach and in the evening there were taxis, which were around 2-3 euros.
I would recommend this resort to anyone, that mentioned tenerife and the tour operator was also very good

Have visited the green golf resort twice.2 weeks in early July 2005 & 2006. However my 2006 visit will be my last. Compared to 2005 I was not as impressed! The staff were very rude! (particularly reception staff) And other guests were also complaining of the same problem!
The TV would turn itself off before the time was up (everyday) and we were not reimbursed! A member of my party was told we could not have a remote control because "you don't need one"! (That was not the point! we had requested one so it should have been provided, as they were readily available!)
The restaurant was very under-staffed, service was slow, prices not cheap by any standard, and the evening entertainment was awful. However the resort was clean, and safe. And only about and extra £50.00 (for two weeks) than a 3* chav haunt! (although some had slipped through the net, Thompson must have had an offer on!)
However next time I would pay and extra £150.00 and stay in a 5*. If only for the air conditioning, and to escape disco classics being crucified by the singer at meal times!
But to end on a positive note, the green golf would be fine for a first visit to Tenerife, or a cheap deal! You would not be disappointed. (Unless you go twice!)
