I booked this hotel on the Solmelia website for approx £188 for 1 week for 2 adults. This turned out to be excellent value for money.
The hotel was modern, smart and very clean. The rooms were cleaned and the towels changed every day. All staff were helpful and friendly and the food at breakfast was of a high standard (even included English sausages). We had not booked the evening meal but guests I spoke to told me it was very good.
The outdoor areas were pleasant and clean and the view from all the rooms was good - the pool area, shops and a couple of bars across the road and the sea through the trees. I particularly liked the solarium as it provided a quiet area to sunbathe away from the pool.
Magaluf was smarter than I thought it was going to be with an excellent choice of bars and restaurants and a lovely beach. We were a little unlucky with the weather but this did not spoil our holiday at all and we would go back any time except July or August, which may be a little noisy for us.

Firstly I'd like to say how helpful these reviews were when we were looking for a holiday.
We booked last minute and got a really good deal and know now we made a good decision on a hotel and resort.
We couldn't find any fault with the hotel. The staff were friendly, helpful and they are great with little children. The room and facilities were very clean and there was everything you needed. The rooms were made up every day. There were 3 pools. One undercover, one infant and one main pool, all very clean and well maintained.
There was some sort of entertainment and sports every day and entertainment every night. The restaurant had a wide selection of food, I'm sure everyone would find something they liked.
The resort of Magaluf is very lively and is well suited to younger people so the noise may be a bit of a problem for people who are looking for a quite holiday. It's the 3rd time we've been to Magaluf so we knew what to expect. There's lots of bars and restaurants with English speaking people as well as a lovely beach, 2 aqua parks and it's just a short transfer from the airport.
However in peak season it gets packed with 18-30's type groups and stag and hen parties but you can stay out of the way of all that if you wish. The Hotel is not too near main strip. We had a great time, sure you will too.

We loved this hotel, great for all ages, lots of entertainment going on especially for kids. We watched a few good shows in the evening as well. The food was good and plenty to choose from.
We even managed to get sun beds by the pool at 10am, which is usually unheard of!
The rooms were very clean and we got clean towels etc every day.
I would go back here without hesitation!

If you like your home comforts and English Food, then Magaluf is the place to go. For a weekend break, Magaluf is fine; there's plenty of Bars and clubs to frequent if that’s your thing.
If you don't mind the place swarming with big groups of drunken stag parties, then Magaluf is ok. (Note, the ratio of women to men seemed about 1:4 so if you are a small group of girls, I would not recommend going, I personally felt quite intimidated)
The beach is lovely as is the weather, but if you're thinking of going there for the Spanish Culture, then don't because you won't find any.
As I said, for a weekend getaway Magaluf is fine, but unless you can put up with the worst parts of Englishness abroad, then I wouldn't go.

My friend and I went for a joint 30th birthday treat in May 06th and we found the Guadalupe apartments very good overall, the rooms had a daily maid service (clean towels etc) and the pool and pool area were also very clean. Reception were very helpful and spoke good English, we even got a refund on western water park tickets that we bought at reception but were unable to use due to rainy weather.
My main complaint was the food, if you like meat (veal etc) and fish then you'll find it ok. However, if you don't you'll be pushed to find anything nice, the pasta was always the same and always cold and the only other things available would be pizza and chips (every night). Magaluf itself is like any other Spanish resort, fine for stags and hens or just a drinking holiday, but the place is buzzing with touts trying to drag you in to any bar and it does really cheese you off by day 3.
We found very little to do during the day except maybe a water park, We did however go to Marineland which was great, if you love Dolphins then its worth paying 49 euros to go to dolphins school, you get to touch, train, learn about and generally have fun for 45 mins with the dolphins, the price includes a photo with you giving the dolphins a hug, kiss whatever, t-shirt, diploma, and a manual which was all well worth the money.
Overall it was an average holiday in an average resort, if I could go back to the same hotel but some where much more exciting that would be great.

The hotel was very clean and looked as though it had recently been refurbished. The food was excellent with a wide variety of choice....including themed evenings such as Chinese and Mexican dishes as well as the traditional English fare.
The evening cabaret was not very good but you did not need it as there were plenty of bars around the hotel providing excellent entertainment.
The downside to the hotel was the noise.....some people might not consider it a drawback but the hotel was very noisy, especially at weekends when the stag and hen parties start. However I suggest that this should not put you off as the advantages of the hotel outweigh the disadvantages.
It is also perfectly situated in the resort centre.
I should add that in my opinion there are much nicer resorts in Majorca......but if you are looking for life and fun then you will enjoy this hotel and the resort.

Myself, wife and two kids aged 8 and 4 stayed for 10 nights half board, flew with flyglobespan and booked holiday through flyglobespan and highly recommend them.
The hotel was first class well above 3 star rating, room was spotless and towels changed everyday. The food was excellent with a wide variety of dishes too select from the buffet. Kids had a great time during the day with an excellent entertainment team to keep them happy. Entertainment at night was also very good. The hotel is ideal for the Aqualand waterpark and the Pirates show.
Quick tip for sunbathers at the hotel if your not fast in the morning too get your towels out you could miss out on a sunbed and we think the Germans are bad.

We have been to Magalluf before, a couple of times but never for 2 weeks.
We had good weather, which is mainly why we go abroad. There are cleaners out every day scrubbing the pavements especially on the strip, which is badly needed after every 1 has finished. We got fed up with it the pr peeps can be a pain. But there are plenty of nice family bars and couple bars. There also seemed plenty of popular English type places to eat we enjoyed a nice bite at lunchtimes...Tom browns, Crusoes, Mosquitoes over looking the bay in Torrenova, clean as well good pint..2 for 1.
Beaches are gorgeous kept clean. Lovely prom to stroll along. I wouldn’t recommend Magalluf for wheelchairs a bit hilly but Palma nova side is a lot flatter. Magalluf is mainly visited by English followed by the Italians French Spanish etc...
Our hotel was brilliant could not fault it recommend 100%. Room everywhere spotlessly clean food lovely and the staff very friendly good entertainment for the kids...
The only 1 thing we weren’t keen on was the stag and hen parties that kept coming and going...I’m not a kill joy but when you get large groups of people (all ages ) altogether not bad to start with until they get a few drinks down them and the bad language flows freely and the noise not forgetting the daft antics they get up to. can be funny yes! but they shouldn’t be in a family hotel. You wont escape them in Magalluf be warned if you’re sensitive to that kind of behaviour. Go to Palma nova instead!
But it won’t put us off (hilarious really)
We hired a car for the day, Valldemossa is worth a visit a lovely well restored village defiantly aimed at the tourist, but the road is a bit scary with all the hair pin bends but we had a good tour round saw some lovely parts of Majorca.

The fabulous Sol Guadalupe is such a great hotel I cant fault it in any way, I wrote in my last review about the superb facilities, and they just get better each year, I really recommend this lovely hotel, had such a good holiday there again, and the weather was very hot, what more can you ask for, and of course Magalluf was as much fun as ever, I am over 60 but their are lots of thing to do for older end as well as all the disco’s and fun pubs for the younger ones. Go there for your next holiday, you wont be disappointed I can assure
you and if you can, try the Sol Guadalupe, we travelled with Thomas Cook a very good company and the reps were ace.
Will be back in 2005 without a doubt.

We go to Magaluf every year in June & September its a fantastic place, there are numerous bars our favourites being, MANOS, CLEMS WINDSOR BAR(Clem does brilliant food, especially his toasties at lunch time). Paco`s Piccadilly Bar the drinks are so cheap here. THE LOCAL PUB which is run by Sue she is an English girl & her Spanish husband Horatio a very very friendly couple, and of course Panama Jacks facing the BMC a great place it is owned by the owner of Manos, the man himself MANO a brilliant guy. We have tried several hotels, but none in our opinion can beat the SOL GUADALUPE, it caters for everyone young and old, if you want to relax by day just crash down on your sun bed beside the fabulous pool, if you want sport their are several activities going on. The dining room is lovely and the food is out of this world. it is buffet meals so you can keep eating till you are full, my husband is disabled,& they have great facilities for the disabled, even reserved dining tables near the dining room entrance, so you don’t have to squeeze through lots of tables. The staff are very friendly and will help you with anything you require. Our favourite, FAVOURITE place, looking forward to my next holiday there, really recommends it

This was my first sort of lad’s holiday with four of my mates and we had an absolutely brilliant time.
Everything was in touching distance, whether it was the beach, pubs, clubs or shops everything was near sol Guadalupe.
As for food there was a variety of different choices and very nice, the staff at the hotel were very polite and helpful.
The rooms were everything we needed for the time we were there, because at the end of the day all you need is somewhere to sleep and wash. And every time we came back from being out of the rooms, they would be tidy and clean, a lot different from how we left it.
I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Magaluf and hope to go back.
