" Just arrived back after spending 10... "

Just arrived back after spending 10 days at the hotel and have to say that I was very very happy as was the rest of the family. With grandparents, parents and children to please they certainly did. Prior to going we were worried as building work was threatened but did not affect at all. Yes big cranes outside but no work was being done ( rumours of someone running off with the money). The room was extremely clean and was big, 2 toilets for 3 of us in the room was a luxury. The food was good, no complaints really except watch the chicken on the bone if they serve it in quarters as a bit pink one night. Breakfast was good, dinner was good and so was tea. Did not go to the chinese as did hear that it was the same as in eth main part. drinks on the whole were good, though at times a bit watery in the main room but plentiful and cold. Yes in paper cups but sorry would sooner that with children than accidents. The pools were very good and amazingl clean. Issues when we came to leave regarding putting towels on the sunbeds as were saying you could not reserve them but could always get a bed as their were lots. Take advantage of the free bus in Las americas if you need to go shoppingas only a few shops 15 min walk away and no beach. worth getting a taxi about 10 euros to the market on a Thursday or Saturday as can get some bargains. I would totally advise people to go if you want a quiet break that is of a very good standard.

Great hotel, wonderful location, very clean, spacious, staff were very helpful, good food and entertainment. Excellent holiday overall, except rip off taxi transfers from Faro airport, can highly recommend faroairporttransfers@live.com unfortunately we only found this really nice guy for the return journey.
Apart from that, everything was fantastic!!

Regards, CG

" Having stayed at the hotel last year... "

Having stayed at the hotel last year without complaint I was very disappointed to return this year to find that the standards had certainly dropped.
The room was very good with plenty of space and facilities with the sea view a bonus. Unfortuately the buffet mealtimes became a thing of dread where very bad manners were the order of the day. I realise that the hotel was very busy and the kitchen may have been stretched but a little more menu imagination would have been appreciated, particularly with deserts.
Last year we were shown to our table and had to comply with a dress code at the evening meal and the following entertainment, for adults, was varied and adequate.
Non of these applied on our recent visit.
The children's entertainment was an evening disco where children either jumped off the stage or slid along the floor.
Other than the rooms the hotel does not deserve the 4 star rating it has.

" As we drew up to this luxury hotel it... "

As we drew up to this luxury hotel it looked brilliant and inside was just as good.
Large clean room luxury bathroom and seperate toilet with basin,Shower was powerful and bath filled in seconds plenty of hot water.

Large balcony enough for 4 sunbeds.Great maid sevice clean towels everyday and toiletries often replaced, hairdryer.

I am glad to say the food was hot plentiful and so much choice but was repeated on the second week.Outside there were 2 pools, ample sunbeds and loads of childrens entertainment.

There is no beach and only 1 free bus (holds forty passengers) so ended up finding it on our own by taking a local bus but the locals were not very helpful.

Local buses run hourly but stop after 8 so if you wish to go out at night you need a taxi about 15 euros.

There was not much entertainment for adults so after dinner all you could do is drink till 11pm.

This is a great relaxing family holiday if you like to stay around the hotel and are not bothered about entertainment for adults. Age group mainly 37- 77.

" This holiday was the best I have ever... "

This holiday was the best I have ever been on, there is plenty of activities for various ages as all our gang always had something to do and our gang contained of 5 children aged 8-16 years and 8 adults aged from 17-53years and not once did anyone complain of bin bored.

The animation team was excellent especially Romeo and Ken, they tried there best to get everyone involved in what ever was on offer especially the dnas paraiso dance which the hole of our gang was involved and still know to this day I would easily recommend this holiday to a family of all ages.

But I do have to admit the food wasn't up the best of standard but was edible and if you wanted foods cooked more the chef was always willing to do that for you, the meals didn’t really vary day to day but there was allot of choice, and one day of the week you could choose to either go to the Italian style of Chinese style restaurant which our gang highly recommends, also on selected days of the week there is a bbq style lunch which is within a 5minute walk to get to.

The rooms was ideal for our groups as we had 4 rooms each that had the potential 2 sleep 4 adults easily each containing 2 single beds either pushed together or separate a small camp style bed and a sofa bed that was extremely comfortable that I slept on the whole time.
The bathroom ideas were excellent as you had a bathroom containing of a toilet, bath, shower and a large basin and mirror and a hair dryer not to good but it worked! And wait for this, another toilet room with a toilet and sink and mirror which is great when getting ready for your evening meal saves allot of time especially if its all girls sharing like I was.

The view was great over looking the pool and the sea oh it was a dream come true.
Anyways I’m going on a bit now but it was great would recommend it to anyone, especially if you are all lively and bubby like our lot and always looking for something to do.

Oh and by the way don’t always believe the reviews you read, as we was gutted when we read them last year but when we arrived there they was all a load of rubbish but believe me this is a genuine review.

Highly recommended going back in 2008 to see if it lives up 2 its standards.

" Just arrived back from a lovely week... "

Just arrived back from a lovely week at the Paraiso Dunas Hotel. Cant fault this place, absolutely spotless.
The rooms are lovely. The food is a bit repetitive but all inclusive is what you expect; the cakes are worth a try very nice.

The animation try their best, but have to say that the entertainment was poor a week is great, but if we were there for two we would be bored.
Also the bar closes at eleven; you have to pay after that till twelve.

" This hotel is great! Taken to our... "

This hotel is great! Taken to our ample sized room with private balcony overlooking the sea! Perfect!

Food excellent all round choice for everyone .separate menu for the kids at nighttime. possibly a touch cool on some occasions but on the whole I won’t complain.

Hotel entertainment is brilliant the kids are really well catered for and the evening shows on the whole are good mini club brilliant and mini disco too! The reps seem to really like doing what they do!

No beach from the hotel as yet but courtesy bus provided to Las Americas. I would recommend this to anyone especially for a family with kids 10 and under. Mine loved it! I’ve never said this before but I will be going back next year!

" Hotel was fantastic clean tidy room... "

Hotel was fantastic clean tidy room was a suite which we could not fault. However the food was nearly always cold and unless you got there early not very appetising.

The snacks were a joke from 12 till 3pm the same time as lunch; if you had your lunch at 1pm you had no food till 700 pm. The entertainment was a total joke, half hour in the morning and an hour and a half in the evening, that’s if it was not cancelled.

I have never seen so many bored people in my life. Also there was a nasty stench of drains which made you feel quite sick.

This in my opinion was not an all inclusive package, poor value for money would never go back.

" The hotel looks impressing as you... "

The hotel looks impressing as you enter the reception and the staff can't be faulted.
You can always find loungers by the pool and there were always activities and sports around the pool for you to join in with.

Food was brilliant, there was 3 different restaurants serving food from different continents. The views from the pool of the sea was beautiful. The rooms were very clean and the reps are helpful and polite.

I would definitely consider going to this hotel again as it was well worth the money I spent.

" The hotel is amazing. As you walk in,... "

The hotel is amazing. As you walk in, the lounge is breathtaking.

The rooms are excellent and the view takes your breath away. The food is not really the best but there is plenty to choose from.

The only thing to let it down is the entertainment, it was very poorly organised and not really aimed at children at all.

Overall though the Dunas is a very excellent hotel and I highly recommend anyone to holiday at this hotel.
