DO NOT GO HERE!!

We arrived at Bonanza hotel and was told we had "the best room in the hotel", I would have hated to see any of the other rooms. It was small, cramped, dirty and unbelievably old fashioned, it was like stepping back into the 70's. We were not pleased with the location as you are a good 25 minute walk away from anything!! The hotel is described as good for couples and families, if you are not spanish and over 70 dont go here!!
We moved out of the hotel 4 hours after arriving due to the fact we had to share our room with a massive family of cockroaches!! They were in the bathroom, up the walls near our bed, on the couch, behind the couch and on the balcony and god knows where else. We complained to reception and were told we couldnt be moved as "they would be in every room". We were given some cockroach spray but you had to spray them directly...and the spray was poisonous to humans, so you couldnt be in the room when you did it!!! So god knows how we were supposed to kill them. We complained again and got the same response. So we packed in 5 minutes, whilst avoiding cockroaches and moved to a different hotel. Bonanza aparthotel ruined our holiday, it was filthy and the people there were rude. This hotel did not feel safe at all and we werent sticking around to find out if it was...i do not recommend this hotel for anybody!!!

  • Advice: Las Americas is brilliant but this hotel ... is NOT!

we just return from tenerife where we enjoyed a lot our short winter holidays.
the hotel was great, small and a bit old but clean. the staff was brilliant and very helpfull.
the local rating is 3 * and it is up to our expectations.
we recommend that place for those looking for a well located hotel and a family atmosphere.

Just back from Tenerife, went with a group n well we were down graded to Bonanza....compared to where we were meant to stay it was awful...we were told the beach was closer...HA lies its a good fifteen min walk away n is not clean. The apartments were clean, not what we expected our shower didn't work the fridge leaked was fixed when complained about but the shower was not dealt with properly. One thing I will say is that the maids are great and the apartments are kept clean.
Food in that area is awful could not find a decent restaraunt until we found our original apartments Parque Santiago III....well It was some difference!

worst apartments ever.....toilets not working, fridge broken, pool was stinking,etc....staff are ignorant, cockroaches everywhere. its a family hotel and because we were a group of young lads the manager held a grudge against us from the second morning. he tried everything in his power to get us kicked out.... wouldnt recommend this place. you would be safer sleeping in a tent in the middle of the road.

overall our stay was good however we had a problem with our toilet which was constantly flushing. it was fixed to begin with however 2 days later it started again and when we told reception they didnt believe us (we assume its because we are 2 19 year olds!) and said they sent maintinence and they said nothing was wrong but when we got back to our room it was broken again. to get the noise to stop we had to turn the water off.
apart from this we enjoyed our stay. the rooms were great, a bit dated, but were well eqiupped and clean.
it is in a great location and we would recommend if you have some plumbing experience!!
we would definately go back to bonanza if we didnt have the problems with reception regarding the toilet.

just returned from the bonanza apartments after a weeks holiday, i found that these apartments were very clean and centre to everything. Staff within the apartments were always friendly and helpful. this apartments is ideal for a relaxing holiday although you are very close to the night life if that is what your looking for. the only downfall that could be highlighted is that after 6pm it is difficult to get a drink from the hotel bar as staff are not always available and there were never any entertainment on in the hotel. although besides this i would recommend this apartments and wouldnt hesitate to return again.

Me and 8 girls aged from 20 to 50 have just spent a week at the bonanza and it was EXCELLENT!! The staff were great very friendly. we used the bar as a meeting place before heading off to the Drop Inn for braekfast and evening meals and entertainment and it was Fantastic. We then moved off to the Dubliners or orielleys. The location of the apartments were fantastic a short stroll to the beach and bars what more can one want on holiday. oh and the maid service was fab rooms cleaned and clean towels every day and linen changed 3 tiomes in 1 week. May 2008, Mr A.J. Coull

This is an excellent hotel but be aware that if you suffer from sleep apnoea as I do there are no electrical sockets in the bedroom for your CPAP machine. Indeed there are only two sockets in the apartment, one in the sitting area and one in the kitchen.
Apart from that minor complaint I could not fault the hotel. The food was excellent, the staff pleasant and the cleanliness was beyond reproach.
One small tip for the shopaholics. Leaving the hotel by the small gate at the rear and turning left takes you right to the bus station and a short walk further on will bring you to an excellent shopping centre. This is the nearest centre to the hotel and is on a flat road. Leaving the hotel by the main entrance for the other centres will necessitate an uphill walk on your return.
Do not be put off by the small unattractive reception area, this really is an excellent hotel.

Just returned from the bonanza...

Apr 2008, Miss K Clark

Just returned from the bonanza aparthotel, upon arrival the recepion staff where very helpful telling us about their facilities and where to go to find the beach and bars ect.
On entering the room i found it to be clean although i felt there was too much furniture within the room for the size of it(as i kept bumping in to everything), also i noticed there was glass missing from our windows which i immediatly reported to reception and was replaced the very next day, i probably wouldnt of been that bothered as the piece was very thin and we were on the fifth floor and i felt the hotel was secure but the windows were directly above the shower! I felt the hotel was is a good location as you had a spar just down the road and the beach was around five minutes away as is the shops. The bars and clubs were around 10 minutes away. The resort is lovely you have everything you need and its got a friendly atmosphere about it, when out on a night even though it was late you still felt at ease. There is a main road and the bus station at the back of the hotel but it never bothered us as the noise wasnt that bad on occasions the bus drivers do tend it beep their horns quite alot. The pool area is also kept clean but there is limited beds and parasols so i recommend you be up bright and early to get your beds as the ones with the parasols go first and if its as hot when you go as it was when i was there you are going to need one! it has a sign around the pool telling you not to reserve sunbeds but everyone does! Also you have to pay 1.50 for a mattress for your sunbed (if you want one) and 3 euro a day for your telly. I also found the pool bar to be a little more expensive for things than else where. If your going to stay at the bonanza i would recommend you go on a bed and breakfast basis as the food on a morning is really nice they have a good selecting of cooked food, fruit and cereals. But i would not recommend their food on a evening there is a limited selection and to be honest its not very nice, so we ended up eating out which was a good thing really as there is some really nice places to eat i would recommend the Aberdeen steak house just down the road and turn right from the spar their food was really nice and the price is reasonable. Overall i really enjoyed my time at the bonanza the resort is lovely and so was the wether. i would recommend the bonanza but only on a bed and breakfast basis.

Mar 2008, Miss A Pope

Well what can I say! Bonanza is the right name for this hotel for sure!
When we entered our room for the first time, our first impressions were it seemed a little dated. The stove didnt work, the lock on the bathroom door was VERY stiff (I got stuck in the toilet for about five mins on the first day) and you had to pay for the tv (which never worked anyway!!)
They did clean the room 5 out of seven days, there is a bar in the hotel, but it is a little expensive. It is in a very good location, near the shops, beach, bars and restaurants so if you are not too bothered about staying in a luxury hotel, then this ideal.
The food, we stayed half board, but rarely ate there. The food was a little bland, but they did have ice cream:@) Yummy.
After a few days we got used to the hotel and thanks to the good location, we had a good holiday overall.
