We have just got home from our holiday in Tenerife, and we loved it!
The hotel staff were friendly, the hotel was clean, the pools were nice, the food was ok. The entertainment was not great but was bearable and quite funny really. There was a nightclub which was a laugh and I enjoyed dancing after a few drinks!
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who would like a nice relaxing holiday. We are really pleased and would go back again.

This is the 2nd time my husband and I have stayed at this hotel, we found it to be a very relaxing hotel. The entertainment provided was suitable to all ages.
The food was excellent plenty of choice at all meal times and also the snack bar, the staff were very efficient, helpful and polite. There was 3 bars plus a night club and although busy queues were kept to a minimum by good service.
Rooms were clean and spacious, reception area clean and spacious. The area outside the hotel is quiet but nice for walking with plenty of friendly local bars.
Although some entertainment for children there was not many children. Plenty of facilities including TV room, crazy golf, pool tables, tennis courts, fresh water swimming pool (across road from hotel). Excellent value for money.

We booked into the Catalonia Punta through On the Beach Travel. Booked it online at onbeach.com.
We have visited Tenerife many times and were more concerned about a week away than we were for the location on the south of the island (Playa De Las Americas and all that).
We were perfectly happy with the hotel and the all inclusive programme. Some of the reviews that we have read about this hotel are negative but most of the other guests that were staying in the hotel that we spoke to seemed to share our opinion.
We paid less than £250 for a weeks all inclusive in this hotel. For the amount of money that we spent, the hotel represents fantastic value for money.

We stayed at this hotel last week and only managed 4 of the 7 days then we paid to be moved as we could not stand it any longer.
The hotel is dark, gloomy and about 20 years out of date. It needs a good clean up and our room was badly maintained. We were led to believe it's grounds led down to it's own beach area but this is across two roads one being a busy main road to get to it.
The dining area was not very clean and the food was all just luke warm. Had problems getting served with only one small bar area for the whole hotel. We will not use this hotel again and would only rate it as a 2 star certainly not what we expected from a 4 star.
Booked with On The Beach Travel Agents who were helpful when we booked the holiday in the first place but not so nice when you phone to complain so will not use them again!. Overall a very poor run down hotel.

Worse holiday ever from 19/03/07 to 28/03/07. Not exaggerating. Wanted reasonably relaxing holiday! We were placed under noisy lift/air conditioning mechanism even though we had requested a quite room. Impossible to sleep even after a few drinks!
Asked to move and finally a couple of days later we were put on a floor full of extremely Noisy unsupervised Spanish school children as punishment! Walls paper thin. Could hardly escape them (noisy kids) anywhere in the hotel including poolside or dinner as three bus loads had arrived.
They laughed, slammed doors, shouted and screamed until sunrise. They even had races up and down the corridors. Be warned it's a regular occurrence we were told from Spanish friend. No escape from them even in the Nightclub. Complained to kids, staff and management. Nothing done. Security man just hid. We were told manager was busy and would contact us later. He never bothered himself.
We were fobbed off by staff after many attempts and eventually resigned ourselves to our faith. View of nearby power plant with fumes very nice! Can't mention what was floating in the pool. Bed sheets were not changed once in nine nights either. Disgusting! We have stayed in many places throughout the world and are actually really easy going people.
Catalonia Punta Del Rey and it's staff is a dump that does not deserve one star. People in the local town were generally really nice and friendly. Alpaha rooms never let us down before but be warned!
