My wife & i (late Fourtys)stayed at this hotel at Christmas & it was our first time in Tenerife. It takes about half an hour from the airport to Puerto Santiago (costs approx 50 euros) just come out of the exit doors from the airport & turn right loads of taxis waiting. Upon arrival at the hotel we booked in with no problems at all & the staff were really friendly & all spoke English. As we had booked this holiday on a self catering basis i cannot comment on the food in the hotel, all i can say is the apartment we stayed in was huge with two bedrooms one with two single beds & one room with one single bed with plenty of wardrobe space. Not bad seeings there was only two of us but i was told the one bedroom apartments are huge too. It was very clean & was cleaned every day & towels changed every other day, all the kitchen equipment you needed was there Kettle,toaster,microwave, hob & oven & there is also a TV but only one English news channel on it. The swimming pool is upstairs on the fourth floor with lovely views out to sea including the island of Las Gomera.There was no need for us to worry about eating out as there are many restaurants within 2 minutes walk of the hotel ,Rancho Steak house, Mexican, Italian Chinese & if you require fresh bread there is a supermarket right next to the hotel which cooks it onsite every day including Christmas Day. Also if you come out of the hotel & turn left there is a English owned bar called Images within 1 minutes walk where we spent many a night. Most of the people in the bar are English ex pats of all ages & they made us really welcome, Christmas Eve & Christmas night were brilliant. If you want to go to the beach its about 5 minutes walk from the hotel along the promenade which is fairly flat to Playa Del Arena. So if you are thinking of coming to this area of Tenerife at Christmas you will find it very relaxing no hassles from people trying to give you scratch cards & plenty of lovely walks aswell, Los Gigantes is about 25 minutes uphill, hard work but well worth it for keeping the weight down. If you dont want to walk there its 3 Euros by Taxi.Temperature on Boxing day beside the sea was 28 deg, water temperature 21 deg. It beats being at home so from our point of view God willing,we will be back next year.
