Hi,
We have just returned from a week at the Riomar Hotel. The hotel was as we expected as we have been before, the rooms are very basic but clean and tidy. The sea view rooms are a beutiful view, although the isnt any air conditioning the hotel supplies you with a fan, you also get a change of towels and bedding daily.
The food is nice, nothing specail but tasty, they have a veriaty of food from salad to veal and for breakfast sausage, bacon, egg, etc.The staff are very friendly in the restaurant especailly Mrs.Lola.
The staff at the hotel bar is amazing apart from one glitch.Ilona is the most friendly barmaid you will ever meet in your life, the service is fast and at its best.Andreus isnt very nice we did not like him at all and would never be served by him again.
The pool is quite large and spacious, it is always clean and tidy, you are aloud to take inflatables into the pool.
The entertainment at the hotel is every other evening starting at 9:30pm, escpescailly the dimond class drag act it is really 5 star entertainment and i would pay for it.
Overall we will definatly return to the Riomar Hotel again as we have been twice

We have just returned from our first visit to the Riomar, our second to St. Eulalia. We very much enjoyed our stay and for a 2 star hotel it was estupendo. Our room did not have a sea view, it looked towards the church and the hills and there was no sign of a building site. The advantage of this aspect was that it got the evening sun.The weather was glorious, there was no air con. but what 2 star hotel does? The staff were great, friendly and helpful. Our room was large with more than enough storage space. It was kept very clean. The choice of food was good especially the breakfast and when we were there people wandered in after 9am[last serving] and there was still plenty of choice. My one very small gripe was that the food at dinner was not hot enough but there was plenty of salady things for a cold choice. We also like to go to the local restuarants and really prefer bed and breakfast but this half board was a good price and so we took and had dinner out a few times. The dining room when we were there was clean as was the rest of the public areas. We liked the sun terrace being separate from the pool area. The thing we liked most was that it was right on the beach and swimming in the sea was a joy. There is a lovely walk nearby for evening time aong the river. We will return to this hotel and would have no hesitation in recommending it to any one looking for a 2 star hotel in this area.

Arrived at Hotel Riomar 14.08.2009 with my husband and 5 year old son, on arrival it matched the brochures details, and was what we expected of a 2 star hotel, receptionists very polite and helpful, we were able to upgrade our room to a sea view at a cost of 30 euros, but the view is worth every euro, although it does not help with the heat in the rooms are there is no air conditioning, and they are very small and basic.Disappointed with pool,as it is small and completely taken over by inflatables, not very child friendle, as the childrens pool is also overtaken by large inflateables and unruly children. There are only chairs and tables around pool, thre are a couple of well worn/dirty sunbeds and umberellas on a terrace below the pool area. Then there is the restaurant- if you could call it that - slop is served at breakfast and dinner cold, the floor of the restaurant is filthy with left over food from the evening service in the mornings, and the cutlery will certainly require a deep clean by yourselves prior to it being used. There is little choice of food, and most is recycled in batter for the next sitting. At one stage they ran out of bread at morning service, which we then had to purchase at the local Supermercado. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in for food, and would not serve it to an animal. The manager is rude obnoxious and intimidating,if tackled with any complaint, and goes by the theory that he is always right and not the customer !!!!! We had a serious issue in the hotel, in which he humiliated me in front of guests, whilst spitting in my face. Overall you cannot beat the location, although there are better/cleaner beaches than the one outside this hotel, although the inside, and the attitude of owner/manager is appaulling. My final tip will be to check your drinks bill from the restaurant and always ask for a receipt.

We went here in august 2009 and it was good all exept the food.
It was the same things all 10 days like the usual salad.
The main course was poor and the pudding was ok.
we have been there 5 time now ther staff are very helpull in the bar and reception monica and lorrena at reception work VERY hard ans so do the bar staff andre lena susanna thre is another one but forgot here name.
The staff in the restraunt were not as good as other years but still got there in the end.
The location is ideal the beach is litterally on your doorstep and it is good for young people to make friends like i did and i miss them all now. :(

I'd like to just add - I think those people who are giving the place very low ratings are forgetting it's only a 2* hotel, and I strongly believe that it was very impressive and better than you'd get in most 2* hotels. There was only one elderly couple there when we went - it was mainly families with children who found the setting ideal as there was plenty for the kids to do and it was safe for them to have a little bit of freedom, giving their parents a break to relax in the beautiful weather! I really don't see why having to rent a fan at 2,50 Euros per night is a problem - reasonably priced and worked a treat. Yes, air con would have been lovely - but again - it's only a 2* hotel. You get what you pay for - and we actually felt we got a great deal and brill value for money on all aspects of the holiday.
Our rep explained the problems over getting a sea view or not - apparently you can request one, but this doesn't mean you'll necessarily get one unless you've actually booked and paid for it in advance of arrival. This did cause confusion as people who had requested one were convinced they had got one, whereas they were allocated to those who had pre-paid and booked through their travel agent. I felt very sorry for the poor girl on reception who had to deal with it single-handedly! We didn't experience any problems as we'd booked ours in advance, but I can understand how disappointing it must be - maybe the difference between requesting and booking needs to be made clearer beforehand so people are aware when booking their holiday. Again though, I'd like to reiterate what a fantastic location it is and a hotel we will not hesitate to return to.

My partner and I have just returned from a week at the Riomar and I can honestly say I have fallen in love with the place. It's location is ideal, literally seconds from the gorgeous beach, so the view from our sea view window was breath-taking and fantastic to wake up to every morning. We could even hear the gentle waves at night - you can't match that sound and the feeling you have knowing it's right outside. We both felt the hotel could/should be upgraded to 3* as we couldn't fault the room, staff helpfulness or food on offer. The only thing was the water wasn't working for part of Thursday afternoon, but our overall stay was great. Fans were available for hire, which we needed in temperatures of 45 and above. The staff were friendly and happy to help at any time of day or night, and the place was clean and well presented. We were minutes away from the main promenade where there were plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants to choose from, and there were beautiful views everywhere you turned. Daffers Restaurant in Restaurant Street is only five minutes or so away and we had a fantastic 3 course meal for only 15 Euros - great service, food and value for money. We booked two trips through our travel reps which included pick-up by coach from the hotel and took us to San Antonio and Playa Den Bossa's water park - Aguamar, but we strongly felt that Santa Eulalia had everything we needed for the week, and we had very little need or desire to go out of the area. There were however regular, reasonably-priced buses and taxis available to all parts of the island had we wanted to. We bought ourselves inflatable lilos to lay on the beach on because there was a hire charge for the sunbeds, but otherwise the whole holiday was great value for money. There was a courtesy room available to grab a shower and freshen up on your day of departure once you'd vacated your room by midday, which was handy as our flight was early the next morning. A highlight was definitely the hotel's entertainment on Tuesday evening - a Drag act not to be missed - absolutely fantastic!! The drinks in the bar were well-priced and there was a very friendly atmosphere from staff and guests. We plan to return as soon as we possibly can - Thank you everyone at Riomar!!

My friends and I have just returned from a week at the Riomar and were impressed with the quality and service we recieved. The location was fantastic, right on the beach, and a short walk along the prom to visit other bars/restuarants and shops. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our only complaint was the temperature of the rooms at night. Despite hiring a fan for 2,50 E a day, it had little effect. As a result, we spent very little time in the room. Considering the 2* rating, the food was fantastic! Lots of choice and something for everyone.
I would definitely visit this hotel again and would recommend it to others.

have just returned from a wonderful week at the Riomar, Hotel very clearn, staff pleasant and helpful, food excellent. Hotel 4 yards from the beach, entertainment 2 or 3 times a week, bus service easy to locate and use. I would recommend this Hotel to every one. Only gave 9 out of 10 because there was no air conditioning in the rooms (be prepared to pack your own fan - although the Hotel does rent them out),

Just back from the Riomar after a week in the sun , weather was glorious and dare i say it too hot at times , the hotel is a basic 2 star hotel , no more and no less , it was sold to us as a 3 star hotel but we knew what we were getting before we went as we had read some of the reviews , it was clean and the maids done a good job , no complaints there. We did not get a sea view even though the company we booked it through says that all rooms have a sea view , couldn't be bothered to argue because as far as me and my wife are concerned we always spend as little time as possible in any hotel room , rooms are supplied with fan which we did not have to pay for and a security box at 15 euros although you get 3 euros back when you return the key , there is only one plug in the room and a plug in the bathroom , we went and bought a 4 socket extension cable so we could use other electrical equipment and still have the fan plugged in. The food was ok , nothing great but ok , again dont expect too much as it is only a 2 star hotel , evening entertainment looked ok we never stayed to watch any of the acts prefering instead to hang out at the Mariners around the corner , check out the Mariners for a good night. Overall we had a nice holiday lying on the beach and watching the boats sail from the marina , the Riomar could possible do with a slight makeover to do it the justice it deserves for being in such a commanding location , then it would get the credit it deserves .
