Hedley House

We stayed at Hedley House 27 - 30 October. What a warm welcome we got. We arrived at mid day and our room was available immediately. The room was large - no more than that it was HUGE, with a large en-suite bathroom with 2 showers, 1 cubicle and 1 over the bath (brilliant if you had small children to get ready), loads of wardrobe spaces (and coats hangers aswell) and an extra large COMFY bed. The food was superb with more that adequate portions and plenty of choice. We didn't eat in the hotel at night however, the menu looked lovely and the smell of home cooking was brilliant.
The hotel had a small bar in the lounge but had a very good selection of drinks (alcohol and soft drinks) and at very reasonable prices.
The hotel was very clean and the decor was tasteful. The staff were polite, courteous at all times and went out fo their way to be helpful. The car park is small, but we didn.t intend driving once we were in York so that didn't bother us at all. The hotel is near the railway line (actually right across the road) however we were not disturbed by the trains at all. The station is 5 minutes walk away.
All I would say to anyone looking at Hedley House Hotel is that you will receive a very warm welcome and above all excellent value for money. We can't wait to recommend this hotel to our friends but more than that we can't wait to go back
