Looked after like family! Brief but wonderful stay!
Viisted Akay pension very recently and were welcomed warmly and whole-heartedly by Kazim and family. Unfortunately our stay was cut short, and we left with a heavy heart. However, throughout our difficulties Kazim and his family made every effort to look after us, they shoed incredible kindness and acted above and beyond what we would expect. We hope to return as soon as possible and recommend this pension to anyone visiting patara.
great hotel
have just returned from a ten day stay at akay pension. and it was one of the best holidays weve ever had . we were well looked after by kazim and his family . and were made to feel welcome like one of the family. the rooms were well set out and very clean the air con was excellent . there was plenty of hot water all day . the breakfasts were excellent plenty of fruit bread jams honey and eggs all freshly made . every morning we were asked if we slept well and if everything was ok with our room. we were also told what the evening meal was... more
Disappointed with our Stay
My wife and I travelled for 18 days in Turkey and successfully used the tripadvisor rec's except for the Akay. Its not that the Akay is a bad place, it just doesn't live up to its claims on its website or prior tripadvisor reviews. First the Akay claims to have 24 hour hot water, we found at best lukewarm water and then most of the time cold water showers. We were also not happy that we did not receive a new bar of soap and had to use aprior visitor's soap. I requested new soap and was told that I would receive one but never did.... more
Management response from akaypension

Hello, I am the owner of the Akay Pension, Kazim. This is the first time I am writing on here. I am consistently the top rated hotel on Trip Advisor and this popularity might lead people to believe the Akay Pension is a 5 star hotels or holiday village. But I have a small business with 12 rooms. My hotel is spotless and good value and I would suggest that you would agree with this. My family and I try to give all our guests a very happy stay in my hotel. Despite our best efforts for our guests, perhaps 1 in 1 million, are not happy with our service ;-) In response to this negative review; a) he does not enjoy our dinner - however most people like my dinner very much (see other reviews) and all the guests get our menu in the morning. b) toilet paper and soap - I can honestly say in 18 years of business life I have never heard this problem. c) hot water problem - we have a solar water heating system and when it rains and the hot water is not hot enough, we switch to an electic system. When it rains, it might be warm but never cold. In the summer months we do not have this problem so always hot! I try to answer all negative comments but the best answer is given in all the other reviews. I am very sad he was dissappointed with my hotel. If he comes next time I will try my best to change his mind. Thank you for reading, Kazim Akay Manager, Akay Pension

Like being at home
My wife and stayed here for a week in May 2008. Patara is a lovely place and a great get away from the usual husstle of everyday life. Akay pension only made that better. The people there are very welcoming andaccommodating ( as are most poeple in the Area ). The home cooking is to die for and the little rooms with their princess like mosquito nets are very clean, uncluttered and a great place to end your day. Definately recomend this place to anyone wanting to go to Patara. Will definately go there again next year :)<br... more
Great place to stay
I was in Patara in July 2007, and now that I am planning to return to Turkey in May 2008 I have just remembered how great this place was. Kazim is ready to help you with anything. He gave me a ride to the main road when it was time for me to leave. There were no problems with my room, very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was amazing. It was a nicer shower than I have at home! Highly recommended.
Perfect in every way.
We have just returned from 2 weeks at the Akay pension in Patara. For me, my wife and our 2 teenage children, the holiday was wonderful in every way. Patara is a lovely place with friendly people and pleasant bars, cafes and restaurants. The beach of course is second to none and there is plenty to see and do nearby. For us, staying at Akay Pension proved to be an inspired choice. I cannot fault this place in any way. The rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet. There is a wonderful authentic ottoman lounge which we were all invited to... more
Fabulous Food
Thıs ıs the second tıme we have stayed here. Kasım and hıs wıfe Aysha make you very welcome and Ayshas' cookıng ıs to dıe for. We were walking the Lykian Way in 2005 and came back for a second visit as we enjoyed it so much. İt ıs a great place for the beach (best beach ın Turkey ıs ın a National park 20 minutes down the road) - no hotels on the beach at all - just a ruined ancient cıty and turtles ın season. If you like ruins there ıs a great walk to the Delikemmer (brıdge with a hole) along an old aqueduct.... more

Haven of Peace
This was my 2nd visit to Akay Pension and once again I was greeted with a warm welcome from this truly hospitable family. Whatever your requirements, they do their best to accommodate, from the loan of a sun umbrella to transport to other locations. The Pension is only minutes from the village centre and a pleasant stroll to the ruins and magnificent sandy beach. It is also an ideal base from which to visit nearby Kalkan and Kas and the attraction of Saklikent. There are a number of restaurants in the village of Patara but good... more
Didn't want to leave
We stayed here last year and didn't want to leave. We planned to stay in Patara for just a day or two but ended up staying longer and this had a great deal to do with Kazim and his family. We hadn't booked anywhere and when we arrived stumbled across this place. We were striaght away invited to sit with the family and were then shown our clean and comfortable room. Patara is a beautiful quiet place to relax and Kazim and his family make the stay even more pleasant. The home cooking was the best we had during our stay in Turkey with... more
