Last time I travelled to Varna, Bulgaria I was pleasantly surprised by a new hotel in the central part of the city. Modus hotel is has a fantastic location – at the entrance of the Sea Garden and 50 meters from the pedestrian zone of Varna. That gives an easy access to shops, cafes, places of interest etc. The hotel itself is with modern design and has some very good interior solutions. The rooms are not overly large (I stayed in a standard double room), but have everything that a traveler will need. A very good feature is the free WIFI in the hotel; also the hotel has fitness and sauna rooms which are free of charge for the guests. If I have to be honest I was mostly impressed by the attitude of the hotel staff. Everyone was smiling and willing to help providing information and assistance. These believe me is not the common case in Bulgaria… The food in the bistro of the hotel is unusually good and when I was staying there was a 10% discount for hotel guests. Otherwise there are plenty of good places to eat and have fun around especially if you visit summer time. Ask for a quiet room if you are a light sleeper because the hotel is on a boulevard and sometimes the traffic noise could be a problem. Otherwise the rooms on 4th and 5th floor are very good because they offer views over the garden and the sea.
