we arrived at this hotel on a sunday evening to be met with the most despicable room you could ever image dirty was not the word. filth is more appropiate that is the only way we could discribe the whole place. The food was unedible and many complaints where made not just by myself but other guests.

Paid cheap so didn’t expect much but this place was way below any of my expectations. Cleanliness is a must no matter what I pay, this place was not clean. Booked a twin room got room 12, a cramped, dirty double with no where to put a case, or anywhere to put clothes had... more

I certainly wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone...I had a single room with a scruffy carpet and a chair to match, the kettle on the floor and my tea tray in the window above the bed...no where else to put them as the TV stood on top of the small set of drawers at the... more

I booked this holiday knowing that it was a 'basic' holiday so didn't expect 3 star treatment. The place couldn't have been further from any expectations I had. The rooms were shabby, black gunge in both corners of shower cubicle, towels not changed all week despite being... more

Georgie girl
Just arrived home!! Start with positive. We had a brilliant coach driver(Chris) who was humerous, helpful and very good taking us on our various trips. Our waitress (Zoe) was an excellent friendly efficient young lady for whom nothing was too much trouble. The food was good value for the money we paid. Restaurant was clean and cheerful. A beautifyul view. Beds and towels were clean. Downside - regretfully the bed rooms were dirty. I had a used cottonwool bud by my bed - dust was inches thick in corners and around skirting board. Had to ask 3 times for it to be cleaned. Furniture very shabby. Carpet very dirty. Windows filthy. Shower and toilet were very basic and small. Whole room great need of decorating. We had no hot water or heating for 24 hours - we were informed a former employee had sabotaged the system!! In my opinion part of the hotel need closing down, refurbished and guests transferred over so that other half could have a similar makeover. Perhaps a television crew could do it .
most awful hotel ever
this is the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. do not even think about it. it is dirty smelly extremely cold with no heating and the staff couldnt care less. stay away.
Glad to get home for a shower
We have just returned from a 4 day break with a coach company who use this hotel. Never again!! Cases were still not delivered to our rooms for 2 hours. The toilet was brown so we went straight out and bought a bottle of bleach!! The room and furniture was very dated and old. We have a fantastic sea view, but windows were very grubby and also the entrance steps and seating area needed hosing down. Food OK and restaurant and bar staff pleasant and hardworking. There was no hot water on first morning. Central heating was on all the time in our room and radiator was burning hot (during a heat wave). Once the hot water was fixed it was scalding hot, very dangerous to shower under, hence a very quick jump under the water before it scalded me.. The duvets and pillow protectors were filthy, smelt and needed replacing. The mattress was new and very comfortable. The carpet was clean but threadbare, and the walls have been painted in an attempt to smarten the place up. As I heard many people say 'The place needed closing down and completely refurbishing'. Our coach driver did his best to keep everyone happy and we had some good trips away from Eastbourne. Our cases were not picked up from outside our rooms on departure and I had to chase them up. The only nice thing I have to say about this hotel is its location on the sea front and the fact that it only cost us £99 inclusive of half board, trips and coach travel from our local area.
Complete shambles
Hotel complete shambles, i worked there recently & walked out because i rarely got paid & when i did cheque always bounced. The owners live in London & couldn't care less about their guests or staff i am currently trying to get my back pay but can never get hold of anyone in their London office. This time next year the hotel will probaly be closed or coach companies will move on to much better hotels in Eastbourne & i don't blame them.
you pay cheap, you get cheap
The staff were all very helpful and friendly especially the restaurant staff. However the whole place needs a thorough overhaul and replacement of windows, new showers etc. The food could be less like school dinners or care home meals and with more adult choice. My sash window would not stay open unless I wedged it. Lots of banging doors late at night due to spring loaded corridor doors banging shut. It was all a bit like 'Fawlty Towers'.
Brilliant View
We stayed for a weekend, the Hotel is very large and on the sea front, we had a sea view but the window frame was rotten and you could see through the holes in the woodwork that meant you dare not go too close to the window. the room was very grubby but the bed was clean, although it had no top sheet.. the en suite was so small you could hardly move, The dining room was in the basement, The waitresses were excellent and the food very enjoyable
Warm and welcoming
Recently had a very good weekend here. The staff were very helpful. Excellent food and the room was very clean and comfortable. No complaints and was lucky enough to see some sunshine on the Saturday! A pleasant resort and a short walk to a large shopping area. Would certainly go back to this hotel in the future.
Faulty Towers, but without the humour.
My brother and I went to The Hilton Hotel Royal Parade 10th.September 2007. There was paper hanging off the walls in my room. The window in the bathroom was cracked in thtee places and wouldn't open. The window in the bedroom wouldn't close as it had no handles on it, and the curtains were filthy. My brother had no hot water for the whole week. There were two indents in the floor when you stepped on them, one outside his room and one inside. Our coach driver had an electric shock off one of the wall sockets, and an 80 year old lady had a room straight from hell. The food was ok, but by Thursday it had become less than appertising. There was very rarely anyone on reception. Everyone in our coach party had complaints. Needless to say the travel firm have removed them from their books. On the plus side, we had glorious weather and we were on the sea front.
Fantastic Hilton royal pardade
I stayed in the hotel during Christmas i must say i enjoyed my time the food was delicious, The Hotel was much better then other hotel i stayed in Eastbourne. The entertainment was Brilliant i will definitely be visting the hotel again as the staff were so welcoming.
never again
i stayed at this hotel for two nights (to long) this weekend 21st jan 2008.the food was good, the bed was comfy.but the rest was disgusting.there was no front of house staff.if you needed anything milk, loo rolls act.the room we stayed in was very shabby.in great need of a make over.the hot tap in the sink was running constantly.the kettle fell apart in my partners hand.there was mould growin in the shower, and also in the bedroom.and what looked like dried blood on the bedroom carpet.also the lift was so tiny it could only carry two peaple at a time.so small in fact that if you breathed out the sensor on the lift would cut out, saying you were too close to the doors.i will not be staying there again.
