Have just returned from a week’s...
3 / 10
May 2007, Mrs A Wright

Have just returned from a week’s holiday in this hotel which we were really looking forward to.
The hotel it's self is situated in an ideal position overlooking the sea and near all the amenities. The rooms were kept lovely and clean and the maid was really nice.
The restaurant was buffet service as it was classed as 4 star we thought we would not have to worry about eating out, unfortunately this was not the case. The food was terrible we had 2 meals in it and the rest of our stay we had to eat out.
Unbeknown to us this hotel uses block bookings as a result we were inundated with lager louts who totally ruined our stay. The drunkenness and the swearing on the patio overlooking the pool was disgusting, as a result we spent our whole 7 days on the Son Matias beach.
We were also rudely awakened in the early hours of the morning by them banging on their bedrooms doors and shouting trying to get into their bedrooms.
If it wasn't that, it was the noise coming from the beach when they were trying to get back to the hotel or the apartments.
We thought there would have been security guards patrolling the grounds or the floors of the hotel but we never saw them.
We also noted this hotel is used for stag and hen weekends so you can imagine the level of noise we had to put up with along with the fact it also does all inclusive, so they took good advantage of it drinking themselves into a drunken stupor, which made the noise level even worse as there all shouting above each other to be heard!
So beware they made our holiday a misery and we will certainly NOT be going back!

Great Holiday. Hotel in superb position for beach and nightlife. Spent all week looking for the 4TH star as I think this is only a 3.
Having said that we have booked this hotel this year. Food not very good but have had worse .

Mar 2007, Mr DJH Hiscox

I went to this hotel at an off peak time. I found the staff were very friendly.
I and the people I went with were always in bed when the maid came in to do the room.
Even though she did not speak a word of English, she always made an attempt to speak to us for a couple of minutes a day.
I have nothing but praise for this hotel, as the view is amazing, the sea was still warm and blue.
Although I could not comment on the breakfasts because I did not once get up in time for it, due to night time schedule, the dinner they served was varied and always delicious.
It is right on the Magaluf mile. I would mark it down one point though due to the distance from things like the waterparks and the mini-golf.
All in all this place was a really good place to holiday.

Oh come on Mr Wilson, what have you...

Oh come on Mr Wilson, what have you experienced in your life? My husband and myself have traveled far and wide. We have stayed in 1* and 5*. We own 3 timeshares and have had approximately 40 years of holidays, of which we go away about 5-6 times a year. If you really want 5* treatment, go to Dubai.
I would recommend the Flamboyan to anyone who wants the best of both worlds. Right on the beach front and yet right on the doorstep of the clubs. So the bar serves drinks in plastic cups!! My goodness, is that a complaint! This hotel is very cheap for the position and facilities it offers. The starrage is not given to a hotel because of the smiles of the hotel staff you know! The starrage is given because of various points. The position qualifies for 5*, never mind 4*.
The food was ample. Plenty of choice - and I can only think that those people who complained of cold food was because they were busy chatting instead of eating and let it go cold! It was always served piping hot. We are taking our 21 year old daughter and her friend to this hotel soon and we shall all get what we want. We will get a bit of piece and quiet on our balcony overlooking the beautiful view and they will get the clubbing and excitement that goes with Magaluf.
For all those disgruntled people who complained about this hotel, I suggest you pay twice as much, go 5* and get your drinks served in real glass - now that must be worth paying out a few hundred quid extra mustn’t it! Who on earth goes to Magaluf and expects the red carpet treatment. Its for sunbathing and clubbing. But to stay in the Flamboyan, you have the added treat of that lovely view yet being in the very centre of things. Take no notice of the moaners. I think they are the sort who expect something for nothing.

There is absolutely nothing wrong...

May 2006, Mrs L Rowan

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel. The rooms are clean, the staff helpful and friendly, the food perfectly acceptable, and I'm not only fussy but also vegetarian. Drinks are served in plastic "glasses" until 6pm - a sensible precaution against them being taken on to the poolside, I thought, then all drinks served in glasses from a cocktail bar with stunning views of a pretty cove.
I did overhear some guests grumble about the food, but that was more to do with the lack of steak and chips and the presence of, God forbid, some actual Mediterranean produce -olives and artichokes for example. Smoked salmon and caviar also appeared on the buffet twice and my only disappointment was that the vegetarian choice was not clearly labeled.
Overall, fantastic value for money on an all-inclusive basis and we can't wait to go back.

Jul 2005, Mr R Wilson

What an absolute dump the views and closeness to the action is the only redeeming factor here.
Many years ago this would have been an excellent 4starproperty but today no thanks......
Unpleasant staff, old fashioned basic rooms in need of facelifts.....as are the staff.
4 stars...no way. Drinks served in plastic cups, and dining room a mess with no service at all and cold food.
Anyone reporting on a higher level here must be used to very little in life.
We survived two nights and moved on. Lovely beach, thankfully, but be down at the break of dawn to get a bed by the pool....
Stay clear...you have been warned.

We stayed at the Flamboyan in June...

We stayed at the Flamboyan in June 2005, there was myself my husband and my two sons aged 8 and 10.
The hotel was very, very clean as were the rooms. The rooms were spacious and had lots of storage space. We booked a sea view room as after reading lots of reviews were recommended to do so, and I have to admit disappointment would have been felt had we not, the views were stunning.
The hotel facilities were as expected, the sauna was great so was the Jacuzzi. Before going we had a few doubts about the size of the pool, but fortunately that too was great. The sunbeds get taken up very early so we resorted to going and putting our towels down early, but with the beach a footstep away no disappointment could be felt. The food in the hotel left alot to be desired and after having paid for half board ate out at every mealtime. This was the only let down from what was the perfect base to explore Magalluf.
If it were not for the price I would definitely consider going back to this hotel.

If you are looking for a party place...

If you are looking for a party place then Magalluf is the place for you! We went in May, the weather was fantastic! The beaches Superb and the nightlife AWESOME.
It is an ideal place for stag and hen parties or just a group of mates looking for a good time. We went for a 4-day break and there were stag and hen weekenders everywhere! The price of our flight, accommodation and airport parking at Gatwick came to £176!!! It was an absolute bargain.
The Spanish people are very friendly and hospitable and I honestly can’t say a bad word about the place.
You’d think with all these groups of lads and girls together on stag and hen do’s there is potential for trouble but we saw no trouble in the whole 4 days we were there, I think this has a lot to do with the Spanish peoples attitude, they’re so chilled and friendly with you that is rubs off on people and everyone has a good time.
If you do go you have got to go to the foam party at BCM's nightclub, it wicked.!!!!

Really weird holiday. Beach was very...

Really weird holiday. Beach was very busy at the top of the resort, just like Blackpool on a Bank Holiday, urgh. Got quieter a little further down. Back at the Apartments though, everyone disappeared and we had the pool to ourselves most of the holiday (we were there a week). There are 4 pools to choose from so never too crowded at all.
Apartments were very clean, maid service every day. Reception staff were friendly and helpful at all times. I mentioned earlier it was weird, we went across the road where there’s a kind of multi storey car park type building that houses the restaurants, lots to choose from, and in fact we had a restaurant all to ourselves each night we were there.
I am not exaggerating it was like a ghost town, tumble weeds everywhere. When we walked towards a restaurant you could see the faces of the staff light up, we had doubled their turnover. To recap, busy beach at the top half but come the night time and everyone hides, weird.

The rooms are a reasonable standard...

Apr 2004, Mr M Holland

The rooms are a reasonable standard but the hotel staff and food are very poor. Don’t expect service with a smile because you wont get it. The hotel entertainment is pathetic you can only drink halves at the bar. The restaurant is a shambles you can find anything. Take my advice this is not a four star hotel if it was rated in England it would be a 2 star at most

This must be the worst supposed 4star...

Mar 2004, Mr J Ross

This must be the worst supposed 4star hotel I have ever stayed in. The public bars and lounges were tiny, drinks were served in plastic glasses in the bar, coffee only available from vending machines. Food at best can only be described as mediocre and cold. The only redeeming feature of this hotel is its location, ideal for both Magaluf and Palma nova
