My stay at Pole Pole Bungalows Resort in Mafia Island, Tanzania was really a wonderful experience. Only seven bungalows in a beautiful tropical garden, excellent food, a large choice of sea/land excursions and diving/snorkeling activities, everything managed by attentive people always caring at you to make your vacation memorable.The atmosphere is classy but at the same time unpretentious, books and magazines are available in the duara for an afternoon rest, and you can also enjoy a relaxing body massage in the peaceful massage centre overlooking the beach.
The small and intimate Pole Pole Resort is a perfect place to relax after a safari, as I did coming back from the Selous, and to experience the pristine environment of the Mafia Island Marine Park.
Mafia Island is one the few places in the world where it is possible to swim with whale sharks and I was so lucky to see 12 of them during the boat excursion and to plunge in the ocean beside them!
