Stayed for one night at the Fels Point. I believe the hotel only opened mid year 2008 and so everything had a very new feel about it. Our room had a double aspect and was very spacious, very clean. I have stayed in some top class hotels around the world on business and this compares with many of them. The hotel has very ample free car parking. If you like modern then this is the hotel for you.
We did not eat in the restaurant that evening so we are not in a position to comment. However, if the breakfast was an indicator then I would imagine we would not have been disappointed
The breakfast was superb and for a change was not just a buffet. There was an ample buffet choice of cold items but the cooked breakfast was waiter service and they were happy to provide exactly what you wanted. All freshly cooked.
If Fels point has one drawback then I suppose it is that, being on the outskirts of Tralee, it is a longish uninteresting walk into Tralee centre (about 20/25 minutes). On the other hand if you are the type who like a morning jog then there is a pleasant riverside walkway away from the road. Also, if you have children then the Aquapark is just down the road.
Tralee is quite a nice little town, however, it is horrendous to drive in with a one way system to drive you nuts. It has plenty of little shops and a very nice park.
Fels Point would be an ideal base for anyone wanting to explore that part of Kerry it offers a bit of modern luxury in an otherwise traditional part of Ireland.
