Best Western Hotel Prince Regent

i have just returned from a weeks holiday in weymouth with my husband and our 7 year old grandson. what a wonderful hotel the prince regent is. the staff were all great and nothing was too much trouble . as we booked at last minute we had to change rooms halfway through the week. we were on the 1st floor but the only other room they had was on the 3rd floor so we were a bit dissapointed at having to move 2 floors up just for 3 days. when hayley ( the receptionist ) saw our dissapointment she surprised us and gave us a super room on the same... more

My new wife and I wasted £95 a night staying here for our wedding night. After booking some five months in advance and specifically requested a non smoking room, we were booked into a room which had clearly been used as smoking bedroom. Although the room had a non smoking stickers it was very clear that it had been used as a smoking room in the past, the whole room including the bed linen, carpets and curtains stank of stale tobacco. We stayed at this hotel on 14 & 15 October 2005 for a friend's wedding. From the outside the hotel looks in need of a revamp. The entrance hall appeared quite modern, so I hoped it was only the facarde that needed a make-over. Sadly, when we got to our room we found that the accommodation desperately needed modernisation. Not the worst Hotel i have seen but is a Hotel that tries to act top class but isnt. Staff are great especially in the dining room and bar, receptionists are not the most friendly and i had a bad time with the parking facilities during my stay. I would look elswhere before booking in again but it is not bad as a last resort.

We stayed here for my birthday 26-29th May and to be honest were a bit wary due to previous reviews we had read. Anyway, the hotel room was large, brilliant view, clean, decorated and furnished lovely. The restaurant staff and service was brilliant as was the choice, quality and presentation of the food. The only thing we would comment on would be the lack of entertainment in the hotel, having to go to the adjoining hotel for that. We will definitely be going back again!

One of many hotels in the area which is stuck in the past. The decor is old without being charming and the staff arent great. The room was big though and i had a nice view.

OK hotel - have stayed in better places for the rate charged. The place was full of OAP coach parties. The morning checkout was a complicated affair - lots of people, luggage everywhere and only one lift and even that was being used by the porter to transfer luggage, rather than for the guests! The service is friendly but inconsistent. Perhaps I experienced it on a particularly off-day!

had a 3 day trip mid-week. hotel room was lovely, food was excellent and the dining room staff very polite and friendly. The room cleaning staff went out of their way to be friendly. Bar staff brilliant. However, the three young receptionists I found ruined the whole stay. The lift was broken when we arrived and my husband is disabled. Was told "you'll have to walk". We booked for a weekend break, arriving Saturday. Maybe it was the weekend staff, but the receptionist was very off-hand and unhelpful. We were actually in a rooom in their linked "partner" hotel, the Russell. The room was OK - comfortable bed, clean, sea view - not too bad for £60, but could have been bigger. A wonderful hotel! We booked late and were given one of the best rooms we've ever had in an English hotel. It was fresh, clean, roomy, beautifully decorated with a huge bed and a further single bed AND on the sea front. Although the food was basic and nothing special, we loved the room and the service. Highly recommended for a comfortable stay.
