Hotel Korona

This supposedly 4 star hotel is terrible. Rooms aren't too bad although the linen was ripped in places, the air conditioning didn't work very well, the television channels were of no use to English people, (other hotels I have stayed in had some English channels), during my second week the maid issued me with a second hand piece of soap!! There is a notice in the room with a price list of everything in the room that you would be charged for if you broke it or stole it maybe!! Plus another notice informing you that you would be fined if you brought food into the room. The maids were a misery and didn't even bother trying to say good morning. They definitely don't cater for the English. I will eat anything, but the food was awful, boiled eggs stored in boiling water permanently, so they were always like a brick. Water for tea was luke warm, coffee was the same. Fried eggs were in stored in a1 inch of oil!! Scrambled eggs were an abomination. Restaurants outside could supply Bacon, sausages and "Heinz" beans, the hotel couldn't be bothered. The first week there was 1 toaster which required you to put the bread through at least 5 times before you got some colour on the bread. Second week they brought out another old toaster, same problem, didn't get hot enough. Breakfast finished at 10.00am. if you were desperate enough to want say, a second cup of tea at 10 minutes to 10, you were unlucky as they had put all the food away. The dining room staff were also a misery. They also persisted in walking around removing things from the tables whilst you were still eating. It was buffet style, so if say you went for more butter or milk etc, when you sat back down to the table you would probably find your breakfast had been removed. There was a bar in reception and a pool bar. However the staff at the pool bar would not fetch you Hot drinks from the other bar, they told you to get them yourself and it wasn't because they were busy, just idol. There was no snacks or crisps at the pool bar, just empty stands. We were there 2 weeks and they also kept running out of beer. The football matches were on whilst we were there and there was a good number of people watching, but the staff persisted in playing music all night even though 99% of the people in the bar were watching the football.

I stayed in this lovely hotel in Septemeber. The rooms are lovely and clean. Our towels where changed every other day, even thou we was only there for a week. The hotel is near bars, but the noise wasnt that bad at night. The hotel is clean and has friendly staff. Air conditioning in all rooms with is really good when it gets mad hot there. The pool area is ok, however the sun only goes on it after dinner. We went B&B, the breakfast is good but really does more for the germans. The hotel is near bars and shops. I like the bars for being so chepa and the shops, however the only thing is they bug you to go in their bars. If you touch clothes in their shops they are asking you what size!! And they have now learnt how to say " ASDA PRICE". I would highly recommend Bulgaria to any one, due to the cheapnest once you are there.
