My wife and I booked a week at this accommodation, by doing a bed and breakfast search on the internet and I can only say one phrase BOOKER BEWARE!! As there is no way on earth that this is 5 star.
In what 5 star accommodation do you see the following:
1. Rooms not cleaned throughout your stay (rep says this is correct)
2. No clean bed linen throughout your stay
3. No clean towels throughout your stay
4. You are only allowed one choice from the breakfast menu
5. You have to buy your own toilet rolls
Accomodation
This is obviously a complex of owned apartments, where they lease them back to Club Aegean, who then let them out. The apartments are very good and have all the facilities you would need if you owned them or went there on a self catering basis.
There is no reception at this place, there is only a bar by the lower pool and the bar staff have the keys to show you to your allotted apartment, consequently there is no safe deposit box facility.
The complex has two small pools, the top one having some sun for around 4 hours, until it goes behind the building.
Location
The Club Aegean is situated about 4 kilometers outside of Altinkum and is not well serviced by the local buses (Dolmus) as it is on a back road, therefore there is only a Dolmus about every 45 minutes or so. If you want to use the more frequent Dolmus you need to walk to a main road, which is about a mile away. You could however use the local taxi’s however this year they have turned their meters off and charge a flat rate of 15 lira for any journey within Altinkum, which at the current exchange rate is £7.50 (very expensive)
Food
Breakfast at the Club Aegean is a choice from a café style menu. You can have tea or coffee or orange juice, then you can choose from about 8 selections, which include a full English breakfast, Turkish breakfast and Cornflakes, but as I previously mentioned don’t try to order Cornflakes and a breakfast as this is frowned on.
The Club Aegean also offers evening meals, which whilst basic are not that bad.
Overall
As I mentioned earlier there is absolutely no way whatsoever that this is a 5 star accommodation and based on the remote location I would definitely not go back to this place.
