Vanity Hotel Golf

We stayed in this hotel for a week in June 2007. I was a bit hesitant about going to Majorca, I thought all of it might be like Magaluf (all night discos, loads of children, English food...). I was very much mistaken. Our hotel was the first stop for the Thomas Cook transfer bus. We were the only people checking in to our hotel and were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine in reception. My wife and I have just returned from a weeks stay at the Viva Golf hotel in Alcudia, Majorca. First, let me explain how we ended up at the Golf. We had originally booked the Viva tropic which is a few hundred metres away from the Golf, I spotted the Viva Tropic when we were in Alcudia last year when we were staying at the Condes around the corner. We stayed at this hotel for a week from the 5th to the 12th Oct , on a bed and brekfast basis. We have never stayed in an adults only hotel before, but will definitely be staying in another! This hotel lived up to all you would expect from a child-free hotel, the standard of commadation meets it's well earned 4 stars!!! The room was one of the best we have ever stayed in! Viva Golf hotel is indeed an adults only oasis set alongside a lovely clean beach leading to a very shallow inlet of the med. The hotel is furnished to the highest standards and all the staff are friendly and very helpfull. The buffet breakfast is huge and its worth trying all those things you may not at home. This Hotel is right next to the beach, one of the best in Majorca. On the plus side all the staff were very friendly. On the negative side the bathroom was very small which made getting out of the bath/shower hazardous as you had to negociate a sharp edge of the sink unit and the toilet that was around 300 mm away. The Viva Golf is situated right on the main stretch of Alcudia's long, white sandy beach. We actually are at the hotel in one of the very spacious rooms which overlooked the swimming pool and beach. This hotel is Just for Adults, so it is very quiet and you can enjoy a relaxing atmosphear difficult to find at other hotels. Sunbeds around the big swimming pool are awesome. Brilliant hotel and brilliant location, right on the beach and only a short walk away from the town centre with its restaurants, bars and cafes. We have just returned from a week half board at the Viva Golf Hotel in Puerta de Alcudia, which had only opened the day before we arrived after being closed for the winter for a 1,250,000 euro refurbishment. Hotel is in a brilliant location just a few minutes walk down the road from the port. It is in a surprisingly quiet location yet right by the beach and some lovely places to eat and drink (Don Chon is a brilliant chinese just across the road). The port is great with plenty of good places to eat and shop. The hotel is amazingly clean with good sized and well appointed rooms. LOCATION. - Spot on the beach and also right on the main road. If you go out the 'back door' you will be on a snow-white beach. Turn right and you can walk for miles, passing through 'Little England' where you can sit amongst the Brits and eat fish and chips to your hearts content. Turn left and you are in the heart of the port. Go out of the 'front door' and you will be on the main strip where ther are many shops, places to eat and things to see. We stayed here for 4 days in September. It's a nice hotel and very clean. It's mainly frequented by German tourists, and if you can deal with that then you'll enjoy your stay. There is limited 'sun' space round the pool and the Germans had generally reserved the best places by the pool long before we made it outside. You can only reserve after 9am but that didn't stop the Germans from sitting down by the pool from 7am and leaving with towel reserved shortly after 9. Very strange lot!
