We stayed at the Don Juan in June 2010 it was a horrid nightmare. The whole trouble was the noise at night dreadful, and the sad part of it was that all the trouble we had was because of the English louts. The food was not as bad as we had expected, although by the end of... more

An average hotel
My cousin and i went to the don juan in august 2006. after resding a lot of reviews i was not expecting much of this hotel. the outside appearance of this hotel iz awful and i have to say the same about the room we stayed in. we walked along the corridor to our room which had a pink carpet with godnos what stained all on it. Inside our room was boiling evenm at 3 in da morningwhich is the time we arrived as there was no air conditioning. The draw space was behind two sliding glass doors both of which had sharp smashed glass in them and didnt shut properly. The room was very basic but the balconys were of a reasonable size. I could put up with all of this as the nightlife in magaluf was really good, i had been before at the beginning of july which was definately better but it was still good in august. The local pub which is very close to the don juan was amazing and the staff and the dj are ace! because of the good night life we were hardly in our room as we were either by the pool or the beach in the day and out at night. The food was ok but i recommentd staying away from the puddings and sticking to the fruit as most of it is just slop! i hope this is helpful!!!!!!!
great for what you pau
i was really worried after reading reviews on this hotel, well dont be! 3 girls aged 20 went and had an amazing time! we where in room 101 on the ground floor, well there is not really a ground floor but a roof! its the only level where other people on the same floor could climb over the balcony and come over and talk! so in the end we where pleased as it was a laugh. no burglarys while we where there, would recommend the safety deposite box which is 15 euro and if that got broke into you are insured through paying that 15euro which is also some comfort, just in case!! be careful though, the lads next door to us lost theres and although it was only 15euro for a new key the prob was they where all day with no money and had to wait for the key! The hotel is clean, as is the pool and pool area, with maid service and fresh towles everyday! no air conditioning is the only bad thing the rooms where not cramped, and all the mirrors great for getting ready! pleanty of hot water, never run short. There was a cute stray cat who lives on the roof of the hotel we called bitsy and we where naughty taking food out of the dinning room to fatten her up! ham for breakfast and fish for tea! so keep that up! pool area is rather small but honestly no one was ever in it! we had the pool to our selves most of the time. try the beach tho! its amazing and great to get a tan! food, some nights ok some nights awful! chips and bread im afraid! but we didnt let that put us down afterall we didnt go for the food! for lunch the pool bar offers reasonable priced food, although i wouldnt recommend hotel drinks before going out! 4.50 euro a vodka now in england thats good but on the main strip for 4euro you can get 2 vodkas, free cocktail and a shot!! also drinks at breakfast are free but for your evening meal you do have to buy your drinks! we where very noisy so was everyone but from what i saw all us young ones got put together so it wasnt to bad and we never got told off! mixed ages though! wasnt as many young people here a i thought there would be. its not a very long walk to the main strip and an added bonus is the hotel is rather near bcm! save your feet at 6am! and food places are open untill dawn to-amazing! i loved magalluff and would go back in a second, i would recommend this hotel to younger people who are going for the night life and not the food, great hotel if you make the most of it and dont expect to much! have fun, we did!
highly impressed
September 2006 highly inpressed We are a couple in our Forties and were a bit dubious about this hotel when i read the reviews. We decided to take a chance and came with the idea we would probably eat out even though we were half board. Well we were greatly impressed with food and only ate out once. The rooms were spotless and quite big for a hotel room . maids were in every day. pool area and hotel were all very clean as well and found staff to be very pleasant. this hotel is convenient to everywhere and bus stop just round the corner. I would definately stay here again.
loved the hotel
After reading some terrible reviews i was put off going but after arriving my mind was put at rest. me and my boyfriend stayede at the hotel from September 10th - september 17th we were half board and found the food to be excellent, i have stayed in 4 and 5* hotels and the food here was just as good specially at tea time there was plenty of choice the food was always hot. The room was very nice although the only downside was there wasn't any air con i was disapointed on the first day, but throughout the week i probably would have not wanted it on anyway as it's quite cool on an evening in september. The pool was lovely and the pool bar served a selection of food and drink not 2 costly although we prevered the beach. We didn't experience the evening entertainment as we went out every night. The was a bit of noise on a night but that was from drunken brits but i usually found i came in and fell asleep straight away. Overall the stay at Don Juan was brill and a bargain well worth wot we paid! x
Good, considering our expectations
Having read some awful reviews prior to going, I was a bit skeptical of what I would find when I arrived at the Don Juan hotel. Upon first impressions (outside) it looked a little shabby, but once I was inside it was lovely. There was a pretty water fountain and marble floor and it was air conditioned. The rooms were quite basic, but everything you needed was there. The breakfast/dinner was quite varied and the food was lovely. I would definitely go back to this hotel (I intend to next year) and would recommend it to others. I would not really recommend it for families because it can be quite noisy at times but on the whole it was definitely a good hotel.

Welcome to Hell
do not stay at this hotel if you dare to speak after 8 at night, some night porter arrives at your door demanding silence.the food is the same every night the taste resembled that of eating a turd sandwich every night.if you are single do not think that it is one big shagathon because there are treble the ratio on blokes to birds.
Fab Holiday
We stayed in the Don Juan hotel in august 2005. 6 girls with an average age of 18. We arrived at the hotel in the evening with a very simple check in with the option to give a deposit for a saftey deposit box. I would advise everyone to take this option. We heared several storys about things being stolen from rooms. Although I can confirm that I did not witness or hear of any of this happening while we stayed there and could have been a matter of hearsay. The walk to the strip is really short with fantastic bars along the way. The beach is really close too. The rooms in the hotel are a little dated but are spacey and comfortable. Internal calls to other rooms are free but if the hotel is full of teenagers i suggest you take the phone off the hook becuse you get alot of calls about 4am. No aircon but we al managed fine without any discomfort. Food ws basic but this isnt the UK so you cant expect UK food. There was a selection of things and chips were always served along with an extensive salad and fruit bar. It really wasnt that bad. The pool is small but I never found it cramped. You may struggle to get good bed in the sun if your a really late riser but the sun tends to move so if you start off in the shade you get the sun later. ad if you start in the sun you get to cool down in the shade. Pool bar serves snacks and drinks which are reasonable. The security guard is a decent man even though all reveiws I read were bad (I am assumimg this is because they were horrible chavs who wanted to pick fights) He took his job very seriously and looked after us extensivly. He is a genuine man and wants to help everyone.Yes he will tell you to be quiet at 3am but there are familys there and people with a bit of respect would take this in to consideration anyway. It wont spoil your fun that much. Magaluf is such a brilliant place, as long as you look after yourself you dont need to care about where you stay. The hotel really is just a place to crash out. Beleive me our first impression of this hotel was AWFUL. On looking at it i wanted to cry but we really enjoyed it. Would not reconmend to familys/elderly or people seeking quite break in peak season.
Don't even think about going
This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. My friend and I paid £450 for a week in July. It was our first time in Magalluf and it wasn’t what we expected at all, it even rained the whole week! The night life was okay if you’re in to heavy house music. The food was absolutely disgusting, cold chips with breakfast, raw fried eggs, everything was cold!!!!. I got food poisoning on the first night and was in bed for two days in the boring room. Our view on the balcony was the roof to the restaurant which was below us and was full to cigarette butts and whatever people felt like throwing down. It was filthy. The pool area doesn’t get much sun, is small and not very well kept. The only good thing about it was the nice beach which was nearby. I don’t recommend this awful hotel to anybody. Maybe my standards are too high but I just expected decent food and a clean room. I was wrong!
The Low Down
Hi, Stayed at this hotel in march 2006, Read lots of the reviews and thought I might of made a mistake but wot the hell its a holiday ! Me and my mate are 22. The hotel from the outside is pretty dull and it does not look that plesant but you get what you pay for and £175 for one week full board is great!. The staff are really friendly and always willing to help which is nice. The rooms are basic, the Sat Tv is a no no as there is no english channels and most of the reception is crap. The bathroom is good and has a wicked power shower as hot as you want it 2. The let down however is the food it really is that bad, I think its because the english simply do not like the flavour of the overseas food or it might just be me ! All we lived on for a week was cold chips and cobs ( fresh everyday though). We thought things were picking up when we went to dinner a free bottle of wine on the table (with every meal) .......if you like paint stripper carry right on lol, we took the water instead. The hotel is in a great location not far from the beach or town, parmanova only a 10 minute walk away so it was great for us. Would like to mention that when we went we was the only couple under 95 in the whole place ! and they were all spanish and german and better still you would of thought it was world war 3 the way they was all fighting for a plate of cold trout lol. Getting passed the food it was a good holiday, maid service everyday was very good.Overall it was good value if u can stick the food here as ur save alot of money which can b better spent on something else. Like i said at the start £175 for a package holiday in this day is very cheap. Hope you enjoy ur stay here!
