Not a bad hotel, the receptionists are ok one is extremely helpful and the other is not, the hotel is in a great location close to bus route and not too close to strip so less noise.
The pool is not too good unfortunately but its only a 5 min walk to the beach which is great! the food is very good apart from the deserts! as basically u have a choice of mushy stuff, mushy stuff, mushy stuff or more mushy stuff!! not nice! all the other food was great especially the chicken nuggets! and the chefs are really good, but some of the catering staff can be abit depressing.
The rooms are ok and the beds are comfortable with kind of memory foam matresses, the walls are thin however so if u have problems sleeping take ear plugs! The air conditioning is spot on and tends to keep the room at the perfect temp. The maids are very friendly and will open your door in the morning but if u are in the room they will call back later.
Overall not a bad hotel, the staff are not too strict and friendly enough, good location and I would stay there again!

After reading previous reviews we didnt know what to expect from the hotel however on arrival the staff were friendly and happy to help. We recieved the wrong key for our safety deposit box however reception quickly suplied us with the right one. The hotel room was clean, the maids cleaned everyday however be ready for the early wake up call! they do leave you to get back to sleep. Fresh towels and linen could have been supplied on a more regular basis. The food was very similar each night but there was always something that we liked. Blackie Blackie supplied good day entertainment trying to get all the guests involved in various aerobic activities, the pool area did get quite full by mid afternoon so if you want a sunbed try to get there a little earlier we did manage to find one each day. It was in a good location as it was a 10 minute walk away from the centre which meant that you could sleep after a night out. The Local Pub is definitely a great place to try with good english food and cheep drinks! Adam will be happy to help you out there. So we were happy with the hotel and would be happy to retern there in the future.

We stayed at the Don Juan in July 2010. We were very pleased with the room as it was clean and spacious. As well as this the location of the hotel is brilliant if you are looking for an exciteing holiday as it is only a ten minute walk from the best clubs, shops and the beach. The pool area at the hotel is good and on AI you get a free bar until midnight. The only negative aspect of this hotel is the food is awful. For example the soup was very thin and watery and the main dishes i could have cooked better myself and i cant cook. I would recommend this hotel if you arnt really bothered about the standard of the food because everything else about the hotel is very good. I would definately go again but on a room only basis.

we got back from Magaluf today and I am so glad to be home we Stayed at the don juan for two weeks when we arrived and checked in they had given our room to someone else the kept hold of our passports when we went to collect them the couldn't find them. we hired a safety deposit box for the two weeks we paid 30 euros when we went back to collect our key their was a note in with our key to say that we had not paid enough we asked how much it was and was told it was 24 euros for the two weeks when we produced a reciept for what we paid they had to give us some money back.
The room was ok if you didn't look under the bed to see the stour it was cleaned every day but with fresh towels but the towels often came back marked which was disgusting the shower head in our room was hanging off so unless you took it off to shower the floor got covered in water. If your a vegetarian forget it we ended up eating out even though we were half board even the veg had meat in it.
we have had hardly any sleep because of the noise of music and youngsters coming in at 4am shouting slamming doors and playing dance music when we reported it to reception some one would tell them to turn it down but as soon as they went it started again and also the hotel across the road had idiots throwing bottle at people from their balcony. so unless your aged between 16 & 25 and single forget it worst holiday we have been on so you make up your own mind but we will never be going back.

We stayed at the Don Juan in June 2010 it was a horrid nightmare. The whole trouble was the noise at night dreadful, and the sad part of it was that all the trouble we had was because of the English louts. The food was not as bad as we had expected, although by the end of our stay we had had enough of it. Rooms were kept clean and clean towels were always there. Staff were very friendly and always helpful. To make this a good place to stay the hotel needs to become less tolerant with the teenagers, at half past four in the morning people need to sleep. There were quite a few small children there, and we thought how thoughtless these youngsters were. No-one is stopping them from having a good time but they also should show some respect for others. We will not be returning there.

Please dont listen to these negative snotty reviews about the don juan! just come back from a week there and would defo defo go again. The hotel was spotless, clean, spacious and staff were more than welcoming, friendly, and polite. Rooms big, beds comfy and air con in all rooms. So its not the ritz but its cheap cheerful, great location, only 5 mins walk to main strip in magaluf but just far enough to have a good nites sleep. we were all inclusive and got more than our moneys worth in drinks, food was ok, always something u could eat, bit repetative but wat do u expect for such a cheap hol??? pool was great, plenty a sunbeds to go round (and all had comfy cushions on) Pirates is over the road and western waterpark was 2 mins up the road. Beach is 2 mins walk away! If you want somewhere nice to eat theres a lush chinese restaurant/takeaway on the corner. So dnt worry about these negative reviews, if people want 5 star then book 5 star!! get booking the don juan and i promise, u will have a great time!!!

2 Scottish lads arrived at the Don Juan expecting the worst, after reading the reviews, but were surprised to find a clean, spacious hotel. The staff at reception were (fairly) helpful. The room was air conditioned.. bliss after a night on the piss! Our mates stayed next door in the Martinique, which is known as 'the zoo' for a reason. In comparison our hotel was like a palace. Spent most days down at the pool, the food was a bit dodgy- avoid chicken nuggets, they were not cooked properly- but compared to previous holidays I have had in Spain it was pretty decent. The self proclaimed 'Blacky Blacky' (yeahhhh!) was a good laugh, initiating plenty of fun, including catching a pole before it hits the ground, salsa dancing, aerobics and football. (Be warned, football matches are played on concrete and can get a bit dangerous!)
Overall I thought the hotel was good, never had any problems with theft, however I could of sworn i spotted a random guy in my room from the poolside. Thankfully, nothing was taken. The nightlife is amazing and I would definately recommend visiting The Local pub, look out for our T-Shirt pinned to the DJ box, also does an excellent mid morning fry up, the perfect hangover cure.
9/10, would definately return!

We stayed at the Don Juan, Magaluf from the 29/06 - 07/07 2009.
On first arrival we thought we were going to have a nightmare stay because even though it was almost 6am, we were greeted by a bloody tampon which had been thrown at the door we ere entering on check in. Turned out, it was from a lad's foot but still... Not very plesant to see. Then we were checking in and the guy behind the desk was arguing and swearing at a lad who actually was staying at the hotel and telling him to "[--] off" and leave the premises. He was drunk and it took about 15minutes for the receptionist to check us in, which in the end was as 2minute job. He wouldn't let us have a safe, let alone even talk to us about it.. But to be honest after reading the reviews, this turned out to be for the better as we didn't bother because after talking to the guy who was being yelled at (who was eventually given his key to go to his room) told us that the maids conastantly rob you anyway and they had 700euros in total stolen from them in 5 days between 7 lads.
On entering the room, it was very clean and spacious with a good view of the pool area. We had a couple of hours sleep, missed breakfast - as we did 6/7 days there... and headed down to the pool area, which was very big and also clean. The reviews on some of the sites here are rubbish when they talk about needing to get up early for a sunbed. We managed every day to get one, there was 2 of us, sometimes 4.. And we were getting up at 2pm some days after along night the previous evening. The pool bar is expensive though, we only ate there if we missed breakfast and really couldn't wait till tea time. The pizza's are discusting and not even pizza! And a vodka slush will cost you 5.50euros... And its rank! Dont waste your money there... Go to the shop and buy big bottles of water for 70cents and sneak it into the pool area - don't pay the 1.70euro they charge you for a tiny half litre bottle at the pool bar!
Every day there's the entertainer, "blacky blacky" whose french and really fun. He does beer competitions, ping pong and aerobics in the pool daily to get everyone involved. He repeats himsef a lot though and after a couple of days you just want to be left alone.
The hotel is situated about 10mins walk away from the main clubs and nightlife but its a very nice walk and theres a great pub on the way down called the local british pub and you can get soem good deals in there if you try your luck - free shots etc. The drinks are generally expensive and the best deals you'll get out there is 2 wkd's for 6euros with a free shot... maybe a fishbowl if your in a larger group of 4+. Theres loads of places to go, but people were easily spending 100euros a night just to get drunk... It takes a lot and you do need some money. Me and my friend (2girls) went and were spending 25euros a night coz we were on a budget and feeling sick of the cocktails very quickly, and even too many wkd's can have this affect. Its really hard to get drunk and is probably worth spending an extra couple of euros for the proper vodka such as smirnoff or even buying things for the room to drink before you go out... Clubs are open till about 4-7am so its not worth going out till at least 10 or youll be too tired and coming home really early.
Overall the Don Juan is a nice hote to stay at, loads of young people, a few families, the food is discusting to be quite honest - the reviews were all right. Ive stayed in a fair few half board and all inclusive hotels were the reviews about food have been awful but they always seem to be okay to my taste but the Don Juan is just too bad for words. The reviews are all right. I stuck to salad and chips, and the stuff they put out for you to make meals out of - theres no way you can do it! Its all revolting.. sloppy, cold sometimes and generally bad food. I wouldnt feed my dpg ot to be quite honest, id rather her starve! The good thing to this i guess is the loosing weight side but nope, we just ended up spending our ale money on food - which is what we didnt want to do and why we went half board in the first place!
The other thing about the reviews which are right is the Martinque - its true, they do shout abuse at you and throw things at you, including their own spit! But you just need to walk under the balconys as opposed to the street where they cant see you or throw anything at you. We had it okay being two scouse girls, we said hi and had general banter but once we were with 2 of our friends who were walking slightly ahead of us and being two lads they were spat at. They missed, but still. Its completley out of order.
Anyway - nice hotel, away from the noise, staff are rude, maids dont really respect you but do clean the rooms well - they dont even listen if you have the no disturb sign on the door etc - they just come back when your not there - so keep your money with you at day and hide it at night when they arnt there, food is abismol, martinque are scatty! they must read previous reviews and live up to reputation i guess... nice quiet away from the noisy nightlife... big pool 8-) thats about it.

me and my mum went to magaluf in april 2011 we are just back after a week. lovely place and hotel plesant reception staff who talk brilliant english. the food is shockin as for the entertainment its all in spanish, we went to see where my papa passed away he died in the sol magaluf park hotel that was lovely, the duan juan is a full board hotel only the drinks are a wine glass of orange juice for two euros. the water is tiny bottles for 2 euros aswell. we are a normal family and aint snooty or stuck up or expect the world but we expect a deccent hot meal you will not get this here so try gettin a sol hotel you will not go wrong, also try tom browns in the center next to mcdonalds for an evening meal after 5pm if you buy a steak you get free drinks all night and its a british bar! have fun the hotels nice but take your own drinks and go out for food :) if you have already booked dont panic youl have a ball but foods crap! xxx
