Just returned from a week in Croatia at the Bi Village in Fazana, a really good site, with 3 pools and its own beach. The other amenities are good on site but the shop is very expensive.
In the Thompson Al Fresco brochure it stated that the euro was widely used this is totaly wrong as the majority of places only take Croatian Kunas.
We travelled to Pula which is a large city about 5 km away by bus to use to the Lidel Supermarket, all was fine but trying to get back or get a taxi is a nightmare, so if you plan to do this pre book a taxi or take your phone and a taxi firm number.
Also in the local town of Fazana about 1km walk along the coast or road there are a few smaller markets a little more expensive but you could easily cope for a week using them and you have not the hassle of using public transport.
We flew into Marco Polo airport in Venice and caught the fast ferry to Pula which was really nice and the same on the way back we had longer in Venice on our return and I would recommend theis route. There are an abundance of restaurants in the vicinity with the food being of a high standard.
You can organise a trip to the Biruni Islands a group of islands which are a croatian National Park there is a trip organised by the park but was very expernsive so we went to Fazana where an independant trip can be organised, and after the tour around they leave you on an island for the day, the snorkling is brilliant fantastic should not be missed.
Another trip out is the Pula colluseum a very good tour, and very reasonable, you get an audio tour thrown in for all you budding gladiators.
Any questions about the park or Pula do not hesitate to ask.
