Nairn Lochloy Holiday Park
, Highland and SkyeNairn Lochloy Holiday Park reviews
Welcoming site and kept to a very clean standard. Childrens play area very good with modern play equipment.
Great access to a wonderful beach only a short walk away.
The touring area for 10 caravans was poor (too close together / poor condition of pitches). The "serviced" pitches have electricity but no water & drainage on pitch. The wash block was kept to a good standard of cleanliness. The price was expensive all things considered.

We booked the static skye caravan for 4 nights beginning of September.
Site was very easy to find. Check in was really quick and was able to grab a few messages from the small shop next door.
We where really excited to find that our caravan was right next to the beach. Which was excellent for our 2 small dogs.
Though we where happy to find how close the beach was to us we noticed the caravan was not the skye model we had booked. I went to reception to speak with them and was assured it was the skye caravan. (Which is not the same one advertised on the website.)
We also just felt that the caravan was not very clean and rather run down.
I went to use the swimming pool two days later. The pool is a nice size with other extras but as I was getting changed and noticed the floor was rather dirty and there was ants coming out of a drain on the floor.
We did not go to see the entertainment but we did use the on site takeaway. The food was good but out of the four nights we where there it was only opened two of those nights. With no set guild lines with what days it was open. Only a note left of the window confirming your can get takeaway food from the bar. However, when we asked at the bar we where told they didn't do takeaways. Mainly we used takeaways in Nairn which gave far better choice.
On a whole we enjoyed the holiday. It really is a lovely beach. The people where nice and friendly but a bit disappointed with the caravan.

- Advice: Beach has lovely white sands for 7 miles with very little people on it.

Myself, wife, daughter and daughter's friend arrive for a seven-night holiday or August 23rd. We'd driven through the night and arrived very early. Checkin was not due till 4pm.
Upon checking with reception (which is where you check in on this site) they advised that our caravan was not ready yet (no surprises there, it was only just after 9am!), but to check back later. When the van was ready, we could have it.
We were told we could use all site facilities (swimming, etc). However, we spent the morning on the beach. I checked back at 13:30 and our van was ready. We were checked in and given our keys.
We drove to our caravan, and parked right outside. Caravan was of "Lismore" standard, and it was lovely. Very clean and well equiped. Our bed-linen was there too, even though they said we may have to wait till 4 for it.
The site was fantastic, and it really is only a few yards over the dunes to the beach. The beach is lovely, with white sand.
The entertainment was very good, and the facilities are not too small for the number of caravans on the park.
All the staff on site that we met were fantastic. Very helpful - service with a smile. They even put the chilled items we'd bought in their fridge while we waited to check in! Elaine on the front desk, Carol the cleaning supervisor and Paula the entertainment manager were especially helpful.
Nairn is a lovely little town. The harbour is right by the park entrance, and you can get a boat trip from the harbour to go dolphin spotting on the Moray Firth if you wish. There is a Somerfield in Nairn also. If you want a bigger supermarket, there is a Tescos at Forres and a bigger one on the A96 just as you come off the A9 and head towards Nairn.
All in all, we loved it. We will be back!

We came to stay with our 3 year old daughter and our 2 year old autistic son. The caravan was great (lewis 2012 model). The main reason I wanted to write this review though was to thank the entertainment team, especially James, for making this holiday unforgettable. I have no idea how this man has so much patience for all the excited, screaming children but he is brilliant with him. highly recommended holiday. Next to the beach, nice food on site, lovely reception staff but 5* entertainment for the kids
