Birmingham Central Backpackers

I stayed there with my friend this week and all the staff were extremely helpful to us. I would recommmend staying here if you're coming to Birmingham!

This hostel was adequate accommodation, for the price. We booked a twin private room, and we were a little surprised when we turned up and found we actually had a room with two bunk beds in it. No one else turned up, so we did have the room to ourselves, but it wasn't exactly what we'd expected. There was a shared bathroom which was clean enough, and the room itself was clean. The place did smell strongly of paint, although we could not see any obvious painting, which was strongest in the bathroom. We were actually situated in a separate building about 5 minutes walk from the main building, and all the facilities (internet, breakfast, kitchen) were all in the main building. The location was fairly central, but not in the nicest part of town. Perhaps not a good choice for a single girl.
