When we arrived at Fosse Farmhouse we were met with a very warm welcome by the proprietor Caron Cooper. She showed us to our room which was very cosy & just perfect. The bed was the most comfortable bed we have slept on in years!! The room was on the ground floor giving us... more

We booked into this expensive bed and breakfast establishment (over £200 per night for three adults and two children) the week before we arrived. Having reviewed a number of articles on the farmhouse and owner/chef, we were expecting great things. Unfortunately we were... more

what a great find
Isn't it great when you find somewhere like this out of the blue. It proves it's worth going that extra mile off the beaten track. If you're looking for good food, a friendly welcome, quiet surroundings and great if eccentric interior design - then this is the place for you
The Perfect Break
I have just spent a wonderful few days at Fosse Farmhouse, a comfortable, stylish country house hotel which exudes charm and friendliness - a perfect home from home. Caron Cooper is full of life, has a wealth of local knowledge, and always had time for a chat.
Love this hotel
As a regular visitor to Fosse Farmhouse for the last eighteen years, all I can say to a prospective visitor is to take notice of the excellent reviews and totally ignore the three terrible ones, which were written by one impossibly fussy group on one weekend, the sort of people who, for those familiar with Swallows and Amazons would immediately remind one of the Great Aunt, pointing out the daisies on the lawn, and finding fault with everything they possibly can. Trump Towers would possibly count as a slum to such people. The Japanese Royal... more
Loved the Landlady - 1st rate service and accomodation !
We stayed at Fosse Farm recently for a long week-end as we have freinds leaving in Bath, they recommended the place and we were not disappointed. The surroundings are lovely, the decoration gorgeous (the owner is extremely gifted and does everything herself). She is an easy going chearful person and we had lovely chats with her, she speaks french too which was great for my husband. We had the most marvelous english breakfast ever, lovely home made scones and jam with clotted cream, the works !! And a lovely dinner which Miss cooper... more
Amazing, Charming, Perfect, Fantastic B&B
We recently stayed at Fossefarm house, We had a fantastic weekend, and many enjoyable conversation with the owner & chef, Caron. We will be returning in a few months for the bath international music festival, and thoroughly look forward to it ( and her sublime home cooking). I would happily recommend Fosse farmhouse to anyone looking to stay in the area.
Fawlty Towers?
Our stay at Fosse Farmhouse must have overlapped with the other guests who were motivated by that dire experience to write a review. It was such a relief to hear that others' have recently had a 'Fosse Farmhouse/Fawlty Towers' experience. However, unlike the guests who wrote the previous review, we found the facilities in the room (with one exception explained below) to be acceptable (though still expensive for what we received). It was, however, the extremely rude behaviour of the proprietor which will ensure we never return to Fosse... more
rudest most outrageous landlady since fawlty towers
If you want a surreal stay on a par with fawlty towers this is the place for you. Having started off with some miscommunication due to her getting our credit card number wrong, she decided that we were persona non grata and treated us with considered rudeness. remarks included if "I knew what you were doing then we could provide a better service", so when we tried to tell her she told us she "didn;t want to know"!. So in short - if you want to go to stay in a rather over priced B&B which provides FawltyTowers like dramatics and... more
Management response from A TripAdvisor Member

We do require a credit card number to secure a deposit for B&B accommodation Having made several attempts in advance to request the card details the client did not return my calls.I therefore assumed that the reservation was cancelled The client arrived without any communication at 1am which as a B&B was outside of our arrival time.We do try to offer the best service possible for a four star B&B however this particular situation was beyond our control.

So Overpriced and HUGELY Disappointing Fosse Farmhouse
My husband and I stayed at the Fosse Farmhouse for one night. We booked last minute and were "lucky" enough to get the last room for the bargain rate of £75. We arrived around 6.30 in the evening. The owner was too busy to help us settle in propperly as she was about to serve dinner to the remaining guests (not an option for us as we had not given sufficient notice). We were given short shrift and told she was extremely busy on the two occasions that we asked for information about where to eat and the surrounding area. The room was... more
