great experience by eckyMoffat
10 / 10

we took our our two grandchildren for our "experience" week and found the hotel excellent, staff helpfull and friendly, good food ,but not a lot a lot of choice for children,ie, no ice cream etc.

no information pack in room ,so the children went to explore!

not much for the children ,entertainment wise apart from s

wimming pools,, (indoor pool cold).

all in all we had a great week and will certainly return in the future.

An impressive hotel with wonderful... by  HJ  Stephens
9 / 10

An impressive hotel with wonderful accommodation. We were only 'winners' on a timeshare basis yet we had a very high quality apartment in a near perfect position with views from our balcony straight out over the med. Not everything was quite finished but work is on going and things were being done throughout the week to tidy up loose ends. I highly recommend the roof top bar particularly with a cocktail and a glorious sunset.

The distance from the town is a bit of a walk but buses are frequent, however, we chose to walk each day along the coastal path ending up at the harbour where there are many bars selling cold beer - perfect after a hot walk. I would certainly return to this hotel.

I had read people's reports as was... by  H Mason
10 / 10

I had read people's reports as was really worried and upset that we had just lost £3k, but 2 weeks before we went on holiday Lion phoned us to make sure that we were ok and still going for our 1 weeks experience with them.

When we arrived Taxi was waiting to take us to resort.

Upon arrival reception showed us to our room, Champage, red & white wine, milk, bread, moulton brown toiletries etc where awaiting us. The room was lovely king size bed 2 bathrooms and spotless we had everything we required to make our holiday complete.

The resort had 3 pools, indoor pool, sauna, etc, plenty of sun beds, breakfast buffet was served in the restaurant 6 euros a day well worth a visit.

We had our meeting with Angie no hard selling she just explained the total package to us and you are also given a cooling off period, we seen Angie on the Mon but I said we had to have time to think so we arrange to meet again on the Weds and we then signed up for the full package.

In the resort I had spoken to people who had also joined up and had been with Lion and had been with them for 4 years and they thought it was wonderful and well worth the money.

We went to look at the Amphora which will be in Phase 1 next September.

I will admit our hotel was not complete but you could see the end result as it was only 6 weeks old.

I cant say if I will still feel the same in 10 years as I do now as I think wow we have some wonderful holidays to come so my fingers are crossed as I have really good feelings at what we have done and no regrets.

So please stay postitive as I would have loved to have read this before we went as it would have stopped all the sleepless nights.

Lovely hotel by Holidayover60

.

I have returned from a week's holiday at this hotel. My nephew was married at Paphos Town Hall and returned to the hotel for his reception which was wonderful.

As this hotel has only recenlty been opened there isa number of facilities still to be up and running. The staff are all very friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

However, the steps from the pool side rooms to the pool are very steep and young children and old people may have difficulty negotiating these. The pool is excellent.

The mini market is quite adequate - you do not need to go out of the hotel for any day to day shopping. The hotel is situated quite a way from Phaphos Harbour but the bus service is excellent and there numerous taxis available.

The bus stop is opposite the Venus Beach Hotel a short walk away.

Lion Resorts Capital Coast amazing Luxury in Cyprus by DJSCOTTYIS
10 / 10

The Hotel has just opened so there was a few small things need to be finished. The staff were very helpfull and we were Met by a Lion Resorts Rep who took us round the resort which is very nice. The Restuarant and food was above my exspections and the service out of this world. The rooms were all large with plasma tvs in all rooms champagne as a welcome gift was also there. Plenty of sun bed around the pools and even though there was no beach we still could get access to the sea. I was offered while there to take advantage of the Lion Resorts Vacation club 3 year deal but i decided against that.

Would go back very good stay in Cyprus

five star luxury by anitaroberts
10 / 10

just returned on sunday from our two week stay at capital coast. it only opened 1st august so surrounding grounds yet to be landscaped so dosnt look to pretty!!! but dont be dissappointed once you walk through the doors the wow factor hits you.

our room was superb, we did move to a pool and sea view after 5 days, two bedrooms and sofa bed, huge rooms kitchen with all mod cons including washing machine! plasma tv in every room air con two balconies three shower rooms, no need to take towels as they are provided and pool towels too. the spa wasnt finshed, no beach but two min walk is venus beach hotel and we used theirs several times, do be careful though as the current is very strong and we heard couple local people had drowned there so we didnt go out too far.

the food was superb, we were half board so had breakfast and evening meal, full cooked english buffet, ceareal fruit salad bar toast plenty to choose from. evevnig meal was different each night bar b que, cypriot, med, international etc, we never went hungry! ther are plenty of places to eat out but you can pay in the restaurant in the hotel, evening meal was 30 euros each and breakfast was 6 euros an adult and 3 euros for kids. the roof top bar opened on our second week so was quiet, only entertainment was a couple of blokes in bar singing of sorts so we tended to go out or get the bus to the harbour, they run until11 cost 1.50 euro an adult and 95 cents for kids. loads bars and shops there.the massage and hair salon still not open or games room. still lots of snagging bits to put right so workmen floating about but didnt interfere with our hol. pools clean and lifeguard there.staff very frindly and efficient and willing to help at all times.you will notice lots of bits that need dong i.e tiles in outdoor and indoor pools missing, light bulbs that need replacing (we tried counting but gave up), loose hand rails in lifts, the cushions still to arrive for sunbeds so ones around the pool uncomfortable to lay on, so we used the ones on the grass, considering how quick they got finished to open on time they done a great job, so much so we have booked to go again next year to see it all finished, def up to the 5 star . we were on our lions resort experience so was our destination for our "free" hoiliday. just paid for our flights. i would recommend this hotel highly, especially when its completly up and running in all areas.once we have sorted our photos out i will add them to the site.

Like A Honeymoon by AMPUk
10 / 10

Rooms are out of this world with everything you could ever want or need! We had 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a lovely jacuzzi on the terrace. The pools are great..3 pools, 1 being a really good size pool for children. The restaurant served excellent food with loads of choice and great service, All the hotel staff are english speaking and very friendly. Unless you plan not to leave the pool then i would suggest hiring a car to see the beaches and places of interest. Evenings at the hotel are very quiet with a piano type bar and a roof top terrace(the place to watch the most beautiful sunsets). We had an excellent time and were sad to leave.

we have just returned from a 2week... by C.l Walker
9 / 10

we have just returned from a 2week stay at the capitol coast resort and loved every minute of it, the rooms are great, everything u need and the hotel is spectacular. There is still a few things that are not open yet like the spa and games room for children, but it did not affect our holiday. We were there for my brothers wedding which was the first to take place in the hotel and we all enjoyed it, all 32 of us. the staff are all lovely and would do anything to help. The pool area is lovely and kept nice and clean. Over all i would definatly go back to stay there. once they get the kids facillities sorted out then it will be top. so to all the people who are going on holiday there soon enjoy the luxury, it was worth every penny.

when we first seen the pictures of... by LAUEE
10 / 10

when we first seen the pictures of capital coast on the net we thought that it looked to nice to be true but we booked it anyway with on the beach. there weren't many photos available on line so we were very eager to find out more about the place but no further information was available. we were getting married in paphos and we took a chance and got in touch with KLR hotels to ask whether it would be possible to get married at the hotel, they agreed and we went from there. our wedding organiser in paphos gave us the occasional update on its progress but we were still worried about whether it would be open on time as we were due there on the 13/08/2008 and it only opened on the 01/08/2008. we needn't have worried because as we pulled up to the hotel in our taxi, you could see it was a really nice place.

on entering the hotel, you are greeted by the biggest reception i have ever seen, it really is enormous with the ceiling being 4 storeys tall and a pair of the biggest chandeliers you will probably ever see. as you would expect with a new hotel, everything was pristine and new. when we checked in we were given a room on the ground floor which had two sets of sliding doors that opened onto the swimming pool only 20 feet away. my wife said there was no way she wanted to stay in that room because of the security risks to our two young children so i went to reception to ask colud we move to a higher floor but was told there were none available as they were fully booked. when i went and told the mrs, she went up to have a word and also informed them that we were getting married the following week at the hotel and that we were bringing another 20+ guests the following week. within 10 minutes we were in our new room which i can only describe as awesome. there was nothing wrong with the other room apart from it being on the ground floor but this was something else. we had the biggest balcony you can imagine. it had 2 sun loungers on it, the best seaview imaginable and a jacuzzi that overlooked the pool area.

all the rooms are fitted out with everything you could possibly need, they weren't just rooms, they were either 1, 2 or 3 bedroom apartments, all with washing machines, cookers, microwaves, fridge freezers and dish washers plus all the pots/pans etc you would need. each apartment has a plasma in the living room and each bedroom and has 6 english channels to watch. there is alsdo a dvd player in each apartment but no i pod connection as advertised.

the apartment is cleaned daily and the towels changed most days, ours were left twice during our.

the rsestaurant is immaculately clean and tidy with the friendliest manager you could get, he really can't do enough to help you but all the staff were A1. the food is really good and every night is a different themed night from italian to chinese to cypriot to carvery, there is something for eveyone to enjoy and i would recommend that you stay on a half board basis as eating out can be quite expensive we found. we were half board but went out to eat one night and it seemed quite dear. the desserts are fantastic too, you really will not go hungry here plus they had a childrens corner with chips, nuggets etc to keep them pleased.

the pool area was fantastic, there are 3 outdoor pools and one indoor spa pool which is freezing cold but is a godsend as it really cools you down. the outdoor pool include a kiddies pool which is only about a foot deep, the middle pool which is about 3 foot deep at its deepest and then the "adult" pool which is about 4 to 5 feet deep. the two biggest pools have waterfalls in them which look great but my one complaint i would have about the pool area is some of the tiling is a bit dodgy with rough edges and some missing completely.

the hotel has no beach as such just yet, but what little beach you could get to was ok, the water is sparklingly clean and was like being in the hotel pool as it was very very warm. one of the reps told me that they are going to install a beach during the closed season and once they do it will make it all perfect,

there is waiter/waitress service all over the pool area and there are plenty of staff to see to you, you only have to ask and your drinks/ food is served to your sunlounger or you can eat by the outside bar area which is in the shade.

the spa area wasn't open while we were there but the gym was. the kids entertainment wasn't up and running either nor was the kids playroom, this wasn't a problemfor us as our two spent much of the holiday in the pool. i was informed that everything would be up and running before next season.

we got married at the hotel and i must congratulate them for looking after us. they went out of their way to help us. thay gave us the presidential suite to have our ceremony on the balcony overlooking the sea and then gave us a seperate area with 4 big round tables for our wedding meal all decked out perfectly. they really deserve a pat on the back for that.

the hotel itself is situated about 2 miles away from the harbour area so its a bit of a walk but there are buses every 15 minutes and it costs 1.50 euro. it costs 10 euros in a taxi and this can add up if you get taxi's each time you go there. of a night there are bars and restaurants within 15 minutes walk but it can be a bit dodgy walking bacause some of the pavemants are missing and are not lit up very well with a very busy road next to you.

the harbour area itself is a really nice place and is very busy of a night, there are lots of nice restaurants there as well as all the cruise boats should you wish to go on a day/ night cruise. the bar area which they call bar street is lively and there is something there for all ages and i had a fantastic night there the night before my wedding, my best man literally had to drag me back to the hotel.

there are lots of watersports to do near the harbour and again, there is something for everyone, mine being the jet bikes which were fantastic and very very powerful.

there is also the waterpark in paphos which we didn't get to go to but my friend went with his family and said it was quite expensive but worth every penny.

we didn't get to see much else of paphos as we spent most of our time relaxing by the pool before our wedding but what we did see we liked. we would definitely go back to paphos and i would like to stay at the capital coast again to see what it is like in a year or two's time. there are still bits being finished off in the hotel but that still doesn't change the fact that it is a fantastic hotel with fantastic staff. this was the best holiday we've had and we look forward to returning there.

Ive already just posted a huge reply... by LAUEE
10 / 10

Ive already just posted a huge reply to someone about the capital coast but i'll just say, i cannot sing its praises enough.

Its a modern up to date hotel which was an absolute joy to stay in, its spotlessly clean with polite and eager staff, the food is fantastic and the pool area is beautiful.

We had a one bedroom room with the best seaview you could get but it also overlooked the pool area and also had a jaccuzzi.

There are still a few things that need finishing but overall it was fantastic.

We got married in the hotel last week and they bent over backwards to make our day perfect.

Anyone who wants to know more can e mail me on peter.lau@blueyonder.co.uk and i will be happy to reply to any queries anyone may have.

It was a 10 out of 10 holiday for us.

We stayed at Capital Coast in Cyprus... by Gm Moore
6 / 10

We stayed at Capital Coast in Cyprus for the last two weeks. We had a lovely holiday. However we were very disappointed to find on arrival that all was not finished and work was being carried out. The indoor pool, gym were not initially open, when they did open there was no supervision and it was a children's paradise, also it was very dusty. All the other spa facilities, whirl pool, sauna, steam room, treatments etc. were no where nearly finished. The roof top bar was hardly started. No tennis courts, no beach. There was no entertainment for our first week, a little the second week in the piano bar minus piano. We got used to the workmen and the dust. Health and safety would have had a field day if a hotel opened like this in our country. Danger everywhere, watch your children. It is by a very busy road, there are only a few restaurants near by. Joanna's is cheap and cheerful. The chinese Chloe's is excellent and not expensive even though it looks it, and the Devonshire just around the corner after the chinese is wonderful, have to book. The hotel do a lovely buffet each evening, however it is far too expensive to eat there every night for two weeks, breakfast good at 6 euros. Lovely friendly staff.

The good point are that the staff are all very nice, pools lovely and clean. 3 plus 1 indoor. Plenty of sun beds, so no need to get up and put towels out a 6am. Sea views if you are lucky are super. We just went too soon after it opened, it will be lovely and in 12 months time when all the plants have grown and hopefully the work will all be finished it will be a lovely 5 star resort. I would go back again. Warning beware of reps selling time share, they will offer all sorts of freebies, but you don't get anything for nothing.
