La Colina Apartments Reviews
" La Colina is WONDEFUL. "

We stayed in La Colina in October and were very impressed. Its very clean, tidy and has all the utensils and things you need when on holiday. Just a 5 minute walk from the tennis centre which offers beginners classes, lessons and court hiring. Right at the centre of the La Manga complex, lots to do, including tennis, golf, crazy golf, swimming, scuba diving lessons, restaurants, football. Also, academy's for golf, tennis and football- very good for kids. Lovely weather. La Colina has a quiet pool area allowing it to almost be a private pool! Not heated so very cold, even in july and august, but great for a cool down. All facilities in our apartment worked well, very spacious and well equipped. Short drive from Los Belonos which has restaurants and lots of choice. Would recommend the Oasis.. very nice :). The La Manga strip also not far away, not very nice area though. Our apartment was only a 20 minute drive away from Murcia airport, flights cheap. WONDERFUL HOLIDAY, DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED TO ALL. :)
Advice: absolutely fabulous.

" Definitely the worst holiday I have... "
Submitted By: Miss A Bradley
Definitely the worst holiday I have ever had. Lured by promises of a luxury resort with plenty to do, we booked two weeks at the La Colina complex, and whilst the apartment/townhouse itself was very nice, the cleanliness of the pool left a lot to be desired, with a sort of scum floating around after 2 or 3 days without cleaning, The sunbeds had all seen better days too.
My real gripe though, was with the location and facilities available in that area. Beware - if you are going to stay at La Manga, you WILL need a car. We didn't know this, and were effectively stranded for a fortnight.
The maps and literature failed to mention that our apartment was at the top of the steepest hill imaginable, and pushing a 2 year-old up there in a buggy 2 or 3 times a day was very nearly heart-attack inducing. I was pregnant at the time, and found the walk very difficult. Also, the claims that there are plenty of places to eat is laughable - the Bellaluz square offered one restaurant and one pub. The restaurant was actually very good, but expensive and fully booked most nights. The only other place worth eating nearby was the fabulous tapas restuarant down by the tennis centre. Other than that, there was a less than average mexican place, an "italian" restaurant which reminded me of an old folks home in Bournemouth circa 1972, and an American-themed restaurant where the food was so bad that we refused to pay (as did several other diners that evening), and went home hungry as what we were served up was effectively inedible.
Unless you want to play tennis and golf all day every day (and some people do), there is absolutely nothing else to do at La Manga. Certainly, if you were hoping for plenty of fun activities for small children, you will be sorely disappointed. It may be full of luxury apartments and villas owned by footballers, but the place is like a ghost town in September and there is nothing to do and nowhere to go.
I can't stress how awful it was, and we seriously considered hiring a car, packing up and driving to the coast to find a decent hotel, and would have done had we had enough money. I couldn't wait to get home.
