I think that Mr Benn is !00% wrong, dont listen to all of these bad reviews
7 lads aged 18-20 stayed from 20th september to the 30th and had an amazing time. the food was quality just what we wanted to wake up from a heavey night out, the staff where really kind the only bad thing was the weather. out of our 10 nights we had 4 days of sun.
the women in our hotel were stunning, i had my birthday out there on the 25th and enjoyed every minute of it.
the hotel isnt to far from the beach or the nightlife
if your looking for a lads or group holiday the Barracuda is definately the hotel for you, the entertainment team where ametures but sooo funny, we even had a pro comedian from new york one night and had us all in stitches.
i lovbe this place .......... well what we can remember from it and are booking again for august 09, this time we will try not to drink the pumps dry this time
thanks marina team
somerset boys xxxx

NEVER, EVER GO HERE!!!!!
Booked a holiday for 2 weeks from 1st sept - 15th and am home already and its only 9th!
Me and 4 of my mates had booked a holiday to this hotel all inclusive and i will tell you now the drinks are watered down sooooo much the coke is faded and all the drinks are horible.
The food was discusting and was the same every night. The breakfast was the best part from the food. Also where it is set out like a buffet when you go up for 2nds the hotel staff give you a look as if you are commiting a crime.
The reason i had come home early is because our room was broken into and nothing could have been done about it. We went out one night and came home at 2am to get some more money and when we went to our rooms they were locked and our keys did not work. We had to climb over next doors balcony to get into our rooms and they had been trashed. The beds had been fliped over, the TV thrown on floor, all of our aftershave bottles had been smashed and i locked all my money and valubles in my suitcase. I go into my room to only find that my suitcase had been ripped open with what would have to have been a sharpe object.
We were told the night before this happend by a liverpool reseptionest that they are paid to be horrible and that they try to get everyone on a final warning so they can have more controll over them. He also told us a load of stories which i will not mention as to be honest they are sick. He did mention that when people are drunk and loud he locks there door from a handheld computer device they have to wind them up, also he mentioned that the doors can only be locked from the inside of room or from the handheld device.
When we arrived to the room to find they were locked we had asked the people in both rooms next to ours if they had noticed anyone jumping over balconays as that is the only way apart from door to get into the room. They told us no so it must have had something to do with the staff as our doors were locked and if no one had gone over balconys to get to our room then how else will they be locked. Also i had around £500 worth of jewellery, £90 english cash, wallet, credit cards, camera, mobile phone and €420 locked by a padlock which only i had the key in my suitcase. When i had returned to the room only the €420 had been taken so they had left over £800 worth of other accesories / jewellery which to me looks as if it was one of the hotel staff who would only want the Euros. We though this as if they had been caught with English pounds a mobile or anything else how would they explain it, where as if they have Euros they could just say it was theres.
After all this had happened i had spent hours on the phone at 3am to Thomas Cook to get a Rep to come and see what had happend and to see what could be done. I was told on the phone that nothing could be done now as 3am and to go back to my room. I explained that we did not want to go back to room as it had been trashed and things stolen. She spoke with reception and they refused to move us. In the morning once a Rep had finally arrived she tried to say that it was us who did it and why would anyone else want to do it. Thomas Cooks Reps are to be honest a load of crap and do not help. After phoning Thomas Cook to try to claim on Insurance for stolen €420 they advised that because we did not pay for a safety deposit box (which is €50 for the 2 weeks) that we could not claim for anything, which i think is a disgrace as i had LOCKED all my stuff away.
Also to mention i had spoken with the liverpool receptionest and his words at the time this had happend was "Don't worry lads, this happens all the time just ring your insurance and claim". If this happens all the time then the hotel cannot be safe so good luck if your going here. We were also left to clean the room ourselfs as maids did not come round untill 12pm next day.
Just for anyone who is interested i have recorded the state of the room onto my mobile phone and i will be putting this onto www.YouTube.co.uk sometime in the next few days and will be under Magalluf Nightmare. I would advise you have a look so you can see what we went through and how bad it really is.
Would also like to say the entertainment was awful, the spanish entertainer was the worst as she had the highest pich voise and constantly shouted "lookie, lookie".
Take my advise and do not go here.
Thanks, Sam.

Hotel is close to Magaluf town centre and beaches and yet out of the way of late night revellers not staying at the hotel. Echoey tiled landings and the occasional reveller make it quite noisy on occasions but overall given the resort type...bearable. A good mix of Adults, young kids and not too many teenage/early 20 singles made for a pleasant stay.
Food wise, typical buffet fare for Spanish Hotels. Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.
Room wise, basic but clean and functional.
The big moan for me was you could only get local drinks and two drinks at a time and in very small (two mouthful) plastic cups. A pain in the back side.
I wouldn't go all inclusive again as it is a bit of a con unless you've got a very good deal.

if u like been woken up in the morning then i would recommend going to this hotel. the food is ok and the staff except the entertainers which i will come to in a minute are all very nice. but the hotel its self is very bad with a very crowded bar small pool area where everyone is on top of each other and there is a lot of swearing also which i have mentioned alot of noise parties in the hotel and when you complain to reception they really don't care and one guy with a liverpool accent told me there was nothing he could do and i shoul just ignor it what kind of attitude is that. now i move on to the entertainment which was horrible there is nothing going on for the kids and the night time entertainment is terrible when the entertainers do it them selfs. i found after my first few days going to the pax next door which was a much nicer hotel with very good entertainment day and night and i told others about this and alot of us from barracuda went to the hotel pax to play there games and watch there shows. there was one entertainer in barracuda a small spanish girl called marien if i remember who was especially rude and i even on one occasion and i wasn'tt he only person who saw it i saw her hitting a young boy across the face which i thought was well out of order but because of the responce i had from reception about my last complaint i didn't bother to complain about her. i wuld advise any one to stay clear of the marina barracuda and go some where else instead.

i went away on a girlie holiday, there was 9 of us alltogether, i had a fantastic holiday really really good but i would never go back to this hotel and i wouldnt recomend it. rooms are ok very basic but they were alright. staff were ok not brilliant but they werent rude. the food area was disgusting, plates are always dirty, glasses are always dirty, we were eating lunch on day and we saw ants crawling up the wall, loads of them. the plastic cups they give from the bar are not thrown away or washed, they just rinse them and give them out again. every single one of us got ill we had a throat infection and the doctor said it could of been caused because of the poor hygiene in the hotel for all 9 of us to get it. the maids come in every day and change your towels but they dont change the bed sheets i had to ask them to change them. apart from the hotel i had a really good tme, bars and clubs are brilliant and the beach is lovely!!

have just returned from barracuda with my partner& 2 girls aged 9 & 3. thay had a ball& loved the choice of swimming pools(which they were in every day!)i was happy they have lifeguards there also until 6pm!
i was very wary of this hotel after reading reviews saying not to go to this hotel if you had a family-that it was great for 18-30s& party types- but we heard no noise at night and couldnt complain about any one that was there.it was perfect for families!!!the staff were friendly too.
we did speak to a woman who holidays there every year&she said that in the past there had been bother there with party types but the hotel were trying attract families again and wouldnt put up with noise high noise levels late on.

Have just returned from a last minute holiday here...lovely location..food a bit repetitive..kids lived on sausage and chips..although there were some good nights with roast beef which was delicious!
Was a bit wary after other reviews, but found it clean, friendly (staff and guests) and would return.
Be careful with your belongings though as someone pinched my camera from the room last but one day! gutted..

I've read a good few of the previous comments panning this hotel. Cant disagree strongly enough. I took my 9 yr old Daughter and we had a lovely holiday and so did many of the families I chatted with. The staff were helpful and pleasant. Food? well if couldn't find something from that variety, there's something wrong!
Rooms? fine and cleaned regularly. There was a few 'party types' but hey we work hard all year for a holiday so enjoy. Just show some repect for others and the staff and you'll get it back.
If I had one criticism, it would be staffing levels were a little low at the bar but boy did they work their socks off!!

Just came back from Magaluf and all I can say is WHAT A HOLIDAY!
I went with 7 other lads all aged between 18-20 and the hotel done exactly what it said on the tin. Ok, it's not the most glamorous hotel in the world but it’s perfect for people who want to get drunk for free and can't be bothered to cook! The bar was open from 10am-12midnight, which was ideal. We tended to get drunk at the hotel the toddle off to the strip after.
The main strip is only a 5 minute walk away and the beach is literally a minute away.
The night life was awesome! The strip wouldn't get busy until after midnight. Radio 1 were out in Magaluf doing live shows when we went, we met all of the Radio 1 DJ's which was quality!
When you're out at night, look out for the black men trying to sell you fake glasses and shouting "Hello chicken nugget." Also be careful with the bar/club reps, all of this "we'll give you buy 1 get one free on your drinks and we'll give you a free shot" chat only works when you're in a big group. If there's 4 or less of you then just ignore them!
Going back to the hotel; It wasn't a rowdy hotel but it also wasn't a quiet one. The majority of people staying in the Barracuda were under 30 and in groups. I wouldn't recommend it for families, the elderly or for people who like there sleep!
You have access to 3 pools - The Barracuda one, the Pax one (the sister hotel next door) and a shared one (Which we used).
The entertainment is cheesy but it’s alright! We won a music quiz and bingo on the first night we were there and we were given two bottles of champagne, which we found later in the off-licence next door going for €3 a bottle!
All of the rooms had aircon which was ace! They were cleaned everyday by the maids. The view from the balcony wasn't amazing but what was amazing was the fact that everyday you would see a different thing being lobbed from another balcony. We saw a flip-flop, a mobile, a camera, a chair, a bottle of duff beer and a chicken leg being thrown from other balconies.
Food was varied each day and snacks were available most of the time. If you wanted, you could even eat at the Pax but the the selection wasn't as good
If you're staying in either 322, 323, 403 or 404 in the Marina Barracuda, THOSE WERE OUR ROOMS!!!!!!
I miss Magaluf so much and want to go back there again :-(

We went to stay at the Barracuda from the 15th-23rd of July and didn't have a bad word to say about it! It was perfect, exactly what we wanted. The rooms were absolutely fine, working tele, always clean etc.
The view from our balcony was lovely and we couldn't complain about the food.
It was situated a short walk from the strip and BCM square which was amazing! There was three of us girls and we met up with 6 other Welsh guys from our hotel. It was about a 20 minute walk from the waterpark which was quite cheap and really good fun!
We didn't get any stick from the staff about walking in at 7am haha and they were all really happy to serve us.
There was a range of drinks for all inclusive people - martini, vodka, whisky, cocktails etc
10 out of 10! And I'd definitely go back there again!

I've just got back from 7 nights in the marina barracuda. 5 girls, all 18 years old.
Had an amazin time. Very good for what we all wanted...The last thing we wanted was to have to be quiet and constantly be worrying about keeping the noise down and upsetting people.
Food was decent..lived on chips and chicken nuggets and bread rolls for most of the week. if you're more willing to try different things you should be ok, just dont expct too much. Only complaint was no snack bar, had to put top and shorts on an go into the main resturant for lunch times which was annoying at times!
Wouldnt recommend at all for families or anyone looking for a quiet holiday, we went looking for plenty of noise and thats what we got! not the place for a chill.
Room was clean and tidy and the maids were good!
Pool and area was always clean and tidy.
We heard an older couple complaining they hadn't been allocated the marina pax (sister hotel 5 minutes walk down the road), but a few days later we got talking to people more our ages that had been placed there an they were moaning they wanted to be in the barracuda!
The walk to the strip and the main clubs was a bit further than some of the other hotels and we always made sure we went out and came home with each other as there is a darker quieter bit of road as u leave the town to get back to the hotel. it is possible to walk back the beach way, and there is a path for most of it, but it wasn't the nicest, with some strange people about!
Overall, we had a great holiday. If I'd gone with family it would have been a nightmare, but for a group of young people we couldn't have asked for more!!
i just got back from being there...

i just got back from being there for 11 nights.
This hotel is great if u r a group of young people just wanting sumwhere 2 sleep at night.
i went wiv 3 other girls and at one point we were the only people in our corridor which was gud coz we cud make as much noise as we wanted and not get moaned at.
BEWARE GIRLS wen we went the hotel was full of groups of lads which aint nuffin 2 complain about but we were sat by the pool on our last day and was playin spot the girl!!
The hotel was more full at the weekend coz the was the groups of stags and hens. The pool got quite busy so we went and used the pool on the 5th floor which is still outside but it was practically empty and much quieter and u still get ur free drinks n stuff.
The food was the normal for a 3 star hotel. you get the usual stuff like chips n tht everyday but they also had sumin different each meal and there was a chef tht was always cookin someting in front of u as u walked in like roast chicken and currys.
The bar got quite busy at night and the entertainment was crap but we wernt there for that anyway so we wasnt bothered.
If u r goin 2 BCM try and find one of the sergo reps in the pink t-shirts tht r in the hotel sumtimes u only get a couple of euros of but u dont have 2 get into the club b4 12 to get ur free stuff, u can go anytime. But we got out stuff took it back 2 the hotel and went bk 2 the club which is wot most people were doin. u get free t-shirts/bags/towels&hats- thats the best bit!!!
oh my god bcm is brilliant the foam party got messy though, if u stand straight under the foam u actually carnt breath - its great!! and u HAVE 2 do the happy gas stuff its supposed 2 make u happy n laf but i just went light headed, i dont think i done it properly but my mate did and she just burst out laffin.
U have 2 go 2 coyote ugly which is in BCM square, we were amazed the girls swing of the pole things above the bar looks bloody dangerous.
If u r a horrible person then get one of ur mates 2 get u a water, they spray u like in the film its halarious.
when u r walkin down the strip u get all the people stood outside the bars and if u go in they give u a free shot wiv ur drink and sumtimes u get a free cocktail aswell. the measurments of the spirts out there is ridiculas, if u ask 4 a vodka lemonade i think its actually a triple but its good coz u dont need as many drinks 2 get u pissed.
im not sure wot else there is but overall the hotel was great and i wud definatley recomend it for a group of youngsters. not so much for older people or families but there was still quite a few there and they didnt seem too bothered. but if you were botherd shouldnt you already no the reputaion magaluf has???

My holiday in magaluf was amazing. For what we paid we definitly got our moneys worth. The rooms were good enough for what we needed them for - shower and somewhere to crash when you come bak pissed from a night out. Food was varied but quite repetitive, most hotel staff seemed friendly and pleasant. The barracuda is not the place for families, the elderly or people who like sleep! The night life is brilliant! Lots of clubs and bars to keep you occupied till the early hours and within easy walkin distance of the hotel. Would highly recommend going to see Pirates uncut. Really good night out which serves unlimited pitchers of sangria but BEWARE of reps!!! A rep that was takin us to pirate turned up late cos she'd gone to buy vodka then took us the wrong way so we had to climb over a fence which wasn't very appealing since we'd all dressed up nicely. After the show she took us to a bar and after a while disappeared with 40 euros worth of photos we bought from the show. All in all it was pretty good holiday would definitely go back again.

HOLIDAY MAKERS BEWARE: - YOU BOOK THE PAX AND YOU GET ALLOCATED IN THE BARRACUDA IF THEY ARE EMPTY!!!
ON ARRIVAL AT THIS HOTEL THERE WERE LOADS OF PEOPLE OUTISDE TELLING US NOT TO BOTHER COME IN BECAUSE THIS HOTEL WAS FROM HELL.
IT WAS FILLED TO THE BRIM OF STAG & HENS, SCREAMING IN THE CORRIDORS ALL HOURS, PEOPLE SLEEPING ON THE FLOORS IN THE HALL WAYS AND THEY JUST TOOK OVER THE POOL AREAS. THIS IS DEFINATLY NOT A FAMILY HOLIDAY.
WE COMPLAINED TO THE REP, THERE WAS A VERY LONG LINE OF COMPLAINTS HE JUST SAID THAT THE NOISE WOULD ONLY BE FRI, SAT, SUN AND POSSIBLY MON (ONLY HALF YOUR HOLIDAY THEN!)
THIS HOLIDAY IS THE WORST HOLIDAY THAT I HAVE EVER BEEN ON.
THE FOOD LOOKED AS THOUGH WATER HAD BEEN ADDED TO IT, THE BREAKFAST WAS WORTH HAVING (STAG AWAY FROM THE SCRAMBLED EGG, YOU COULD HAVE PADDLED IN THIS) EVERY NIGHT THE FOOD WAS COLD AND THE CHOICE DID NOT CHANGE MUCH. IF YOU DID NOT GET DOWN FOR YOUR TEA BANG ON HALF 6 IT WAS COLD.
SNACKS (IF YOU CAN CALL THEM THAT) WERE COLD SAUSAGES, BURGARS AND KABAB STICKS WITH REALLY HARD BUNS AND ROLLS (YOU CAN NOT EAT SNACKS AROUND THE POOL ONLY IN THE RESTUARANT.
THEY ARE KIND ENOUGH TO LEAVE A MICROWAVE AT THE END OF THE RESTAURANT FOR YOU TO WARM IT BACK UP. (JUST WHAT YOU WANT ON AN ALL INCLUSIVE HOLIDAY!!!)
THE ENTERTAINMENT IS THAT CHEESY IN THIS HOTEL, THE WOMAN WHO CALLS THE BINGO MAKES REALLY STRANGE NOISIES AND MAKES YOU WANT TO STRANGLE HER!
THE ROOMS ARE FROM THE DARK AGES HOLES IN THE WALLS, MARKS UP THE WALLS AND THE WARDROBE AND DRESSING TABLE WERE FALLING TO BITS AND THE DRESSER HAD THE TELE ON!
THE PUBS AND NIGHTLIFE WERE RUBBISH ALL RAVE BARS AND NOTHING ELSE, NO ENTERTAINMENT YOU HAVE TO ENTERTAIN YOURSELF
THE RECEPTION STAFF DO NOT CARE THEY JUST WANT YOU DALT WITH SO YOU GO AWAY. THE LIFTS ARE SMALL AND LIKE A BLACK HOLE AND CONSTANTLY BREAKING DOWN.
IF YOU HAVE BOOKED HERE GOOD LUCH - YOU WILL NEED IT CAUSE THE REP OR NO ONE WILL HELP YOU.
