on arrival we thought the villa & pool were perfect;however 2 days later we were woken by the owner who accused my son & his friend of deliberately damaging the pvc pool lining.despite trying to tell the owner that they had been supervised the whole time & rejecting his accusations he tried to evict us whilst keeping not only the 100 euro damage deposit, but also all the money we had paid for the 2 week rental.after heated debate ,during which we were shouted at & were being called all kinds of names,we managed to seek legal advise from a local lawyer who was extremely helpful.we reported the incident to the local tourist office in moraira who helped us to file an official complaint.the owners then emptied all the water from the pool, despite the pool company telling him it was ok for the pool to be used. the owners repeatedly demanded us to pay up to 2000 euros for a new pool liner, but we refused after being told to do so by the lawyer & the tourist office. on the day of departure,we didnt see the owners,so we left a polite note.it was only then that we discovered the front tyres on our car had been let down.we were so desparate to leave,we checked the tyres at a local garage & continued our journey back home. kurt & grace schaub have 2 villas for rent.we advise everyone not to have any dealings with these people.their websites are spain-holiday.com or moraira.holidays.com.the villas are bella vista & shangri-la.we also advise not to book anywhere unless the pool is tiled & not lined with pvc.
Management response:
Kurt Schaub, Owner: The fact was that the liner was damaged by the Ball Family, accidentally or carelessly.
At one time I had to remind the Ball family to stop playing pétanque on the roof terrace because the tiles can get damaged by the heavy iron balls. This clearly shows how much they cared about the property. I did not ask for 2000,- € and on the departure day they just left very early under the cover of darkness.
I don't know what Mr. Ball is referring to with the front tires (tyers) letting him down. Looks like he is accusing me of damaging his tiers.
