we found this hotel had nothing it said on line, there are a lot of steps this is no good for people with walking difficulties and children, the food was discusting and 5x expensive, you are charge in sterling for most things (we will usually eat anything) we got food poisoning, we had not eaten any were else, stay off the fish, beds didnt get changed untill we put bedding and towels outside of our door, the hotel is further than stated from other resorts, the beach was filthy and there is no beach breakfast bar as stated, all things in this hotel are expensive, there is a shop near by that is a lot cheaper but the management are very strict about you buying anything from the shop other than toiletries

the hotel is over run with cats 11 when we left, i am an animal lover but having cats in the dining room and the kitchen area is a no, no, we obseved a member of staff disposing of soup in the road,no wonder there is so many cats!!! beware of the manageress she has two faces and can be as nasty as she can be nice!!!!

This hotel is located middle of... by T Smith

This hotel is located middle of nowhere, even it advertises that it is located centrally. The hotel is clean and have very nice pool and own restaurant. The food is nice, but the menu is very limited and there are only two other restaurants on the beach in the same area. The owner was really lovely and the staff friendly, but sometimes too friendly if you are a female traveller!!!! The service is very friendly, but also very relaxed, so be prepare to wait to get serviced and them to get it right. It is a beautiful hotel with very spacious rooms. There is a good bus links to Bodrum and Turutreis every fifteen minutes. There is a market in Turgutreis on Friday, so do not miss out.

good, but know what to expect by bkl123

When my girlfriend and I were deciding to book our holiday at this hotel we were referred by the travel agent to the countless positive reviews on TripAdvisor. Although we had a great holiday and liked Turkey, the people, the food, the weather etc our experience at the Nilufer hotel left us and some fellow guests slightly disillusioned.

On arrival we were all sat down by the manageress, Adviye, and informed that if we would like air-conditioning we would have to pay £3 per day for the luxury. Similarly a safety deposit box in reception would cost £1 per day. Although these are not huge additional costs they came as a bit of a surprise as both the travel agency and Nilufer's websites appeared to imply that these facilities came as standard. We were also given the option to upgrade to a suite room with a balcony overlooking the pool for £15 per day.

We were then taken, down below pool level, to our standard room. The small room, although generally very clean, consisted of a bed, wardrobe, small table, ensuite bathroom and little else. Other facilites mentioned on the travel agency and Nilufer's websites such as a fridge, TV and tea+coffee making facilities were all absent. There was a small single window facing a bush which was attempting to mask a view of some wasteland - rubble, pipes. The curtain covering the front door was broken and there was a small, old blood stain on the bed.

This obviously led to our first one-to-one experience of Adviye. Initially we were informed that unless we wanted to upgrade to a suite room that there was little she could do. Upon us insisting that she come and see the room we were told that the bush infront of the window was a "garden view" that she would fix the curtain and that the stain on the bed "doesn't come out." We were then shown two alternative bedrooms with that were sub-pool level, facing the road and had a similar lack of facilities. Upon suggesting that we move into one of of these until a decent room became available we were told that we could change rooms only once and "not to play games."

To be fair to the Nilufer we were moved for our second week to a much larger standard room with a terrace facing the pool and a television. However the other facilities were still not present.

Had it not been for the enthusiastic and friendly staff, the hotel's great location (easy access to Bodrum and Turgutreis and 200m from a nice beach with some nice, reasonably priced restaurants) and some lovely fellow guests that we met, we would have probably accepted Adviye's invitation that if we didn't like it then we could "get out of her hotel."

We are sympathetic to Adviye who appears to work very hard to ensure that her hotel runs smoothly. However, this does not escape the fact that in the busier months the Nilufer appears to struggle to meet the demands of all of its guests and brings into use a number of smaller, sub-standard rooms.

If you stay at the Nilufer prepare to have a great time. However, know that you may not get all the facilities that you are led to expect and be aware of the little additional costs.

We have just returned from the Sunny Garden Nilufer Hotel, we had a wonderful relaxing holiday in great surroundings with lovely people. The hotel staff are fantastic and by the end oft he fortnight we felt like one of the family. The food is good, great Turkish breakfasts.!!! The pool is fab and rooms are clean and spacious.

Adviya was there to greet us at 5.ooam and was always on hand. The staff were great and really made the holiday special.

We went to Turgetries a few times on the Dolmus, it costs less than a pound for door to door service and there is loads to do there in the evenings. A good market on Saturday for "designer "goods

We cant wait to go back as soon as possible ......

small but friendly hotel with great staff by shota

Four of us stayed at sunny garden for a week at the beginning of August. We found that the hotel had a perfect location for a quiet relaxing break in the sun. The beach is a 5 min walk away and is very clean but at the weekend can be very busy. On the beach front their are 2or3 resturants which are open all day. For those looking for a wee bit more excitement then dolmuses run every 15mins into the main town of turgutreis which has many bars, shops and resturants. We went in there every night and found a great little resturant called can which served the best and biggest fillet steak.

The hotel itself has a great pool and sun terrace which is very clean but you need to be up early to get the sunbeds!

The staff (Happy,Errol,Ozzy,Shenol and the info man) are so welcoming and friendly and really helped us to have a great holiday, us teaching them some scottish and them teaching us turkish. These guys work really hard and are one of the main reasons why we had such a good time. The food at the hotel is good , breakfast is continental style, cereals, ham, cheese but on request the staff will make you toast, scrambled eggs etc.

Now for the but bit. For us we found our room to be of below average standard we had no balcony or terrace and our bedroom was locted next to the water pump which went off every 10 mins and was very noisy. On arrival the couch in the room had been washed and was soaking wet and we were told not to use it for a couple of days until it had dried out. We had no fridge or tea and coffee making facilities something which was meant to have been included. When we asked the manager she said we would have to pay extra for these. Our room did not have alot of natural light and at times was a bit dark and dingy.

Overall i can say that we were disapointed in the room but the staff in the hotel made up for this and we all in the end had a very good holiday.

Total Relaxation by Docacc

We were looking for a last minute week-long break to escape from the misery of the British summer and found lots of other Brits en route for Bodrum area doing likewise. The booking with Goldtrail suggested we would be staying at a hotel with a similar name in Turgutries. We were surprised to find ourselves in a rural village (Kariancur) a few miles from that town. What a great and pleasant surprise it turned to be. Met by the manager who explained the facilities, local services, additional costs (air conditioning £3.5 per day, safe £1 per day) and local amenities and services. Her staff were also very attentive and helpful on arrival and until we left. Room was comfortable and serviced daily. Good British and Turkish food available. The pool was excellent. The beaches could be very busy but the sea is fantastic. Great swimming in beautiful bay. Easy, frequent and cheap travel to Turgutreis (YTL2 one way) by Domus bus. 'Turkish night' in the hotel included belly and other dancers and great kebabs.

In all a thoroughly relaxing experience. An attentive manager keen to please and seemed genuinely sad to see guests leave. Each guest was given a proper goodbye whatever the time of departure. Excellent value for money. Will return.

Fantastic holiday location by LGMElderslie

We have just returned from the Sunny Garden Hotel this morning after spending a wonderful 2 weeks there. The hotel is clean, friendly, well run and the food is beautiful. The hotel is lovely and ideally situated (quiet but within easy reach of the beach, Akyarlar and Turgrutreis)

The Hotel has its own Turkish Night which is great fun and well worth going to. For us though the highlight of our holiday was the staff. The Turkish people are very friendly generally but Ozzy, Happy, Errol, Senol and the rest fo the gang are really friendly, nice and full of fun. Normally we would use our Hotel as a base to explore other areas (like most people, we don't want to go away and just stay the whole holiday in a Hotel and not see what the area has to offer) but we stayed around more enjoying the atmosphere provided by the "Happy " Gang.

Missing you all already. Well done for being the No.1 Hotel in the region.

relaxing time which we definatly got. if your looking to relax this is the place.

the hotel is a good 15 minute bus journey into turgutreis but the bus comes every 20 mins at the hotel entrance.

we are not really into the beach but if you are ? the beach is only 5 mins walk.

Superb relaxing hotel with very friendly staff adn beautiful views by SwanseaTaffy

Stress free hotel with superior pool and very beautiful surroundings within a few minutes walk.

Very clean rooms, great turkish breakfast of cheese, bread, tomatoe, cucumber, turkish tea, jam, honey, choc spread.

Relxed by the pool for most days, went to the excellent beach several times ( only 5 mins walk across a village road), eat atthe restaurant on the beah three times and at hotl 4 times, both experiences excellent.

All staff speak excellent english and very friendly.

The best bit is the dolomar bus stops outside the hotel, so went to bodrumm city ( to noisy and blackpool like for me, hotels there wer 12 inches away from each other and very very noisy), great castle and beachfront though and well worth a trip as ome parts of bodrum very smart and classy on baech front, BUS TOOK 30 MINS AND TIME WENT FAST WITH GREAT SEA VIEWS ON THE WAY.

Went to turqetres 20 mins away by dolmar (drivers friendly and spek english) turqetres is a great unspolit town and really friendly witjh great marina, and fantastic beaches, 80% turkish 20% brits mix, no blackpool or tacky bars in sight.

Greta turkish night at hotel with entertainer mr happy dressed in drag, and great turkish dancers.

If you want breakfast at 12noon you can i did and my wife several timesa fter a long sleep.

great breeze every day at the hotel cooled everyone down a nd made it a great holiday instead of a too hot holiday.

Went to the small harbour 5 mins from hotel 99% turkish peopel and greaT TO WALK AROUND TEH SMALL SHOPS AND BAY, THE DOLOMAR BUS TAKES YOU THERE EASILY AND IS VERY CONVENIENT.

A SMALL CLASSY HOTEL for everyone except hen and stag like parties, as its got class and a great family and couples atmosphere

Wonderful place! by LondonBasedLovers

My girlfriend and I returned from a great week at the Sunny Garden Hotel just yesterday, and are keen to relay our wonderful experience and to encourage anybody planning a trip to Turkey to look no further!! This lovely hotel was full of many wonderful surprises; from the rooms, which were like small apartments, to the food, which was full of variety and great flavour. The staff here were very welcoming straight away and quickly became friends rather than staff. Adviye, the manageress, was a perfect host and was on hand with any information needed. The town is small with a nice beach and a bus service runs every twenty minutes, taking you to Turgutreis and Bodrum - larger towns in the area. But we were glad to return to a small, peaceful hotel at the end of the day.

All in all, we had a fantastic time and hope to return!
