Hotel Tunacan

My husband and I have been to the Tunacan twice now and I cannot fault the hotel, everywhere you go, the hotel is spotlessly clean, the food is good and beautifully prepared and cooked. The hospitality of the proprietors, Carol and Shahap is second to none, they are both amazing people who cannot do enough for their guests. During this visit my husband became poorly, Shahap arranged for my husband to see a doctor, drove us to the surgery and stayed with us the whole time to help us with the language problem, Shahap would not accept any monies in return for the time that he took out of his busy schedule. From the beginning to the end of our holiday Carol and Shahap were there 100% to ensure that our holiday was fun, and relaxing they are truly wonderful people.
My husband and I have been to many beautiful places, Australia, Canada,Alaska and Thailand to name a few and as far as we are concerned the Hotel Tunacan is by far one of the best places we have ever stayed in which is why, when my son and his partner decided they wanted to get married abroad next year we suggested the Hotel Tunacan. Carol and Shahap have agreed to do all the arrangements for us so that all we have to do is go there and have a wonderful time.

Our stay at the tunacan hotel was exceptional value the accomadation although basic was more than adequate.cleanliness and maintenanance was of a very high standard.
The pool area was a very relaxing place to be the bar and the restaraunt had a very good variety of food and drink.
Carol and Sehap were able to provide tourist information enabeling to visit local beaches and turkish baths which we really enjoyed.They also provided day trips if we wanted to join in
We both had a very enjoyable holiday and will be returning very soon.

Enjoyed a lovely week at the Tunacan. Hotel only a short stroll from all the facilities of the lively resort of Hirasanou but far enough away if you want a peaceful and relaxing holiday. Cheap and frequent buses to beach and local towns only 200 yards away. Carol and Sahap made our first visit to Turkey a memorable one. They were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. They even organised a boat trip and Turkish BBQ. Staff also very friendly. Hotel, restaurant, bar and pool extremely clean and safe. Will definitely return. Excellent value for money.

This was our second stay in Turkey, staying at Hotel Tunacan, which is situated on a plateau in the hills between Fethiye and Oludeniz. This is a well established family hotel run by Carol & Sahap, who are the perfect hosts together with their staff.
Ovacik is fairly quite, so if you prefer to just have a really relaxing holiday you can laze by the pool all day and perhaps in the evening stroll along to Hisaronu and experience the joyful nightlife or enjoy a quiet meal in one of the many good restaurants in the area. Tunacan Hotel has a well stocked bar and food can be served all day, if you choose to stay at the hotel.
The two adverse reviews on this site do not reflect at all the Hotel we know and the many friends we have spoken to that have stayed there. In fact we have booked for a week this September (2008) and just cannot wait to be welcomed by very friendly people.

We stayed at the Hotel Tunacan on the recommendation of friends and had a fantastic holiday. We were a group of six and made really welcome, more like staying with friends than a holiday hotel. The food was lovely, rooms clean and the atmosphere friendly and relaxing. We will be going back next year and can't wait. Carol and Sahap could not be better hosts!

I have just come back from staying at the Hotel Tunacan in Turkey. We had a great time, the hotel was lovely and clean and Carol and Sahap the owners could not do enough for us, if we had wanted they would have organised day trips, but we were just there to relax. This is our third visit to Hotel Tunacan, on the first visit me and my brother ended up at the hospital and Sahap came with us to interpret, above and beyond his duty don't you think?
Hotel Tunacan is in easy access to bars and shops and a short trip on the bus takes you to the old town, so something for everyone. We would certainly put this on one of our best holiday lists and look forward to going again and staying at the Tunacan.

How refreshing it is to find a hotel that does exactly 'what it says on the tin'! We spent our honeymoon staying at the Hotel Tunacan and had a wonderful time. Carol and Sahap treated us both like one of the family - they couldn't do enough for you. We stayed in a family room, giving us more space and found everything as expected - clean and tidy, omplete with all necessary accessories, yet in keeping with a true Turkish feel about the place. We were recommended the hotel by a number of friends who had stayed there before and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone else (in fact one of them is going back next month!)- a great place to go back to year after year!

The hotel is small, comfortable, clean, friendly & relaxing. There is a large bar area & a great pool. Good for chilling out! Carol & Sahap are very friendly and will do their best to make your holiday a good one. Will organize any trips for you (the boat trip is not to be missed!) and point out places to visit etc. They are fun company and have good staff. Their local knowledge is second to none. It is easy to get about in the local mini-buses and fun. Two local towns to shop & eat in (+ market day)and a beautiful lagoon bay & beach with more shops & crafts! This will be my third visit to the hotel and it is definitely value for money. And you get some good laughs.

This hotel is small and friendly in its essence. It is in a very peaceful location directly located underneath the Babadag mountain. So restful was my stay there that I often recall the feeling of lazing by the enormous pool (compared to the size of the hotel) and watching the paragliders floating down off the top of the mountain. Fethiye area gets extremely hot in the summer months and being located in Ovacik provided that brief respite from the relentless heat. As for the accommodation, its spacious enough and comfortable. The real benefits are provided by those who run the hotel, Carol and Sahap Erzen, who go out of their way to make guests feel welcomed and make sure they enjoy their holiday. Carol spends endless hours in the bar area cooking to guests needs and providing an extremely friendly service to both guests and day visitors to the hotel. Carol and Sahap also provide a booking service for various excursions including horse riding through the ghost village and a day gulet cruise around the local coastline - making sure the excursions they provide are quality and value for money! Overall this hotel is not just a hotel stay its an experience to enhance your holiday and Carol and Sahap do it so well. I have been back many times and intend to continue to visit them. It's what a visit to Turkey is all about and most definitely worth a look. Thanks guys, as always it was a memorable trip.

This hotel was smashing and the couple who run it could not have done anything more for us - even when we had a problem getting back from our travels - they came and picked us up without us asking!!!
The hotel is small and very clean. The pool is lovely and as a couple we did not feel overtaken by others. It is close to the general run of things but not on top of the bars so it's not noisy.
A bus service runs from the end of the road to different beaches and towns and it is cheap. In the town - 5 minutes walk and you are in the hub of the bars and restaurants.
The hotel also picked us up from the hotel and dropped us back.
Great holiday, good price and really nice people.
