This was a poor hotel. We were led to believe it was of a better standard. I don't know how previous people on here have rated it a ten out of ten.
The carpets were dirty, there was dirt on the walls, we didn’t have a phone, the television didn’t work and paying £45 for two weeks for the air conditioning is ridiculous.
The staff at Bacchus restaurant are the most arrogant and miserable I have ever met, especially the manager, small chubby one - who threatened to kick a member of our family’s head in because we were having fun.
If you want a boring holiday then go to this hotel, the people we were with made it the best though, especially with that loud speaker phone, I hope you all heard it.

This was one of the best holidays my family and I have ever had! The location, great step outside the hotel and you are on the beach great for us as I don't like the beach prefer the pool but rest of family prefer beach so you can pop back and forth all the time.
Not a long walk to the main resort but great restaurants, bars, shops etc in either direction
Staff, fantastic friendly lots of English staff as well breakfast, great. Cleanliness, clean. Entertainment, very entertaining, pool shuts a bit early but they have a stage they pull over it at night for entertainment so I understand why.
Would love to go back have tried to book for this year but i left it a bit late and it's full so I will book early for 2007.

Just spent two weeks at the Mehtap; this was the best holiday I’ve ever had, all the staff are very friendly in all the bars and restaurants. The hotel is right on the beach front.
All rooms are overlooking the beach, which is great to wake up to in the morning, bars are great with all the lads dancing, especially the lads from the Dilek bar and the drop in bar, they made us feel very welcome. Would recommend this to anyone who wants a lively holiday, also rooms are very clean, the maids are very friendly too.
I’m just on internet now pricing the same holiday for next year, enjoy because we did.

Liked the talent and loved the staff (who always changed the ashtrays every 3 minutes) and provided amazing entertainment every night. The hotel itself was very pretty and had a great view (of the scenery not just the waiters). The meals were delicious. The Turkish night thrown every Thursday is very authentic and gives a great welcome into turkey. The break dancers and the cheeky boys interact well with customers and provide excellent entertainment to all. The maids always left us with gestures of kindness to make us feel comfortable i.e. leaving flowers on the bed and cleaned the windows so well you walk into them!!! Can't wait to see them all again July 06 whoop whoop!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hotel has recently changed management and some areas are still in the process of being refurbished.
However you can't beat the location - right on the seafront with fabulous views.
Rooms very comfortable, extremely clean and well equipped. Can be a bit noisy at night when the karaoke gets going.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful especially in the beach front restaurant where Ihsan and Oktay make you feel very welcome. Excellent choice of food all at very good prices.
I thoroughly recommend booking direct as the hotel will also arrange transfers to and from the airport for you.

The Mehtap is a simple but pleasant guesthouse. Our room was on the ground floor, we had a balcony overlooking the pool. Although the room was basic, it was cleaned every day and kept spotless. The owners were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is a little out of the main resort, which makes it quieter at night.
The pool area is pleasant and well kept, though the shallow end isn't really shallow enough for non swimmers. There were normally enough sunbeds, although some were mainly in the shade.
Breakfast was typical Turkish style, so simple, but delicious. Served outside on the terrace under the vines.
There were lots of guests who return year after year- a good sign.
Would recommend it.

My 17 year old daughter and I loved this hotel, the rooms were a reasonable size and very nicely decorated, with a hairdryer in the bathroom! Which was a nice touch. The staff were helpful and friendly. Although I can't comment on the breakfast, we never quite got up in time! The meals we had at the Bacchus and the Chinese were of a good standard. The beach is about 2 seconds away with free sun beds and staff who are there to bring you drinks or food - right on the beach so you can laze around and relax all day!!!!!!
The resort is great with lots of good bars and places to eat, out two favourite bars were the turtle bar and the captains bar, the staff at these two bars were great. The water park is only about 15 mins a way in one direction and the covered bazaar and bar street are in the old town about a 20 min walk in the other direction. A fab holiday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My summary of the Mehtap hotel.
Before arriving at the hotel. I had unfortunately encountered a 10 hour delay at Manchester airport. As you can imagine I was extremely tired and cranky to say the least!
Upon entering the hotel the bell boy immediately helped my husband and I with our luggage whilst a friendly young welsh woman (the receptionist-whose name I have unfortunately forgotten) welcomed us to the hotel and made friendly conversation with us while offering tea to be sent to our room. (which as you can imagine after over a 24hr journey i was grateful for!!)
The cleaning service was amazing! I have never met such kind and friendly ladies before in all the places I have visited. They cleaned our room everyday without fail.
I was also very impressed with the breakfasts provided. Although they were not full English, the food was very fresh (serving watermelon, a variety of cheeses, egg, salami, salads etc) and the breakfast area very clean.
As me and my husband are elderly (both in our sixties) we wanted a quiet hotel with an excellent view of the surrounding scenery. We got exactly what we had paid for. Our view was amazing. We could have quite happily sat on our balcony for the entire holiday!
There was entertainment at the hotel every night from around 10pm until 12.30 or 1.00am. This is quite late but to be fair to the hotel, by this time every thing immediately went silent and if your balcony door is closed you really cant hear any of the music anyway.
The rooms their selves are, I personally think of a good standard. I have been to Marmaris several times and not stayed in a hotel with rooms as nice as the Mehtap. The rooms even have hairdryers in the bathrooms ladies which is extremely convenient!
My husband and I would definitely recommend this hotel to people of all ages for several reasons; the standard of the hotel is good. The pool is of a good size which is rare in Marmaris. The staff (some of which are English-excellent bonus) are very friendly and interested in any problems you may have which again can be difficult to find in Marmaris. The cleanliness of the hotel is very pleasing and the meals are excellent at both the Chinese and international restaurant owned by the hotel with reasonably good prices.
We would definitely come back again.

I stayed for the first time at the Mehtap hotel with my girlfriend in august this year.
As this was our first holiday together we wanted this holiday to be romantic. We were pleasantly surprised when the hotel staff had placed flowers and a small bottle of wine in our room.
We ate in both Bacchus and the red dragon (the two restaurants outside the hotel) and thoroughly enjoyed the meals provided at reasonably cheap prices! (they once cooked a meal for us at 1.30am!!!)
The reception staff were extremely helpful. we had a problem with our fridge one day and within the hour the technical services had been to sort the problem.
I think it is also a bonus that within the hotel there are four English speaking girls all willing to help when there is a problem. The manager of the hotel is also very friendly and speaks extremely good English.
We don’t know if were will go back to Marmaris as we like to try different places every year but if we do we will definitely book the Mehtap hotel.

After a week at Mehtap we have come home and are booking for two weeks next year as we enjoyed it so much all the staff in the hotel and Bacchus restaurant helped us enjoy our holiday even more, rooms are nice and comfy and we had a lovely view from our room couldn’t of asked for more.
Would recommend it to anyone all the lads are very friendly but not over friendly which was good couldn’t recommend it enough as I have been to turkey before and this has to be the best holiday I've had there.

We had a fabulous time at the Hotel Mehtap, the location was great - right on the beach and a stones throw away from the nightlife!
The food was lovely especially the Chinese! The only negative comment i would have is that the staff pester you a lot to come to the restaurant every day and night which obviously we didn't want to do all the time..
Overall Amazing place and people and we will def be going next year!
