me and the gırls have just got back from the best 2 weeks ın turkey made all the better by the fab time that we had at the Mehtap hotel.the young boys ın the resturant were very frıendly and made our stay just that little bit specıal.
bella was fab and the dancer girls werent that bad too.had a cracking time food very nıce-especially the mexcıan dıshes and we will defo be back next year for more fun in the sun next year.
thanks for a fab hols.p.s boys on the beach were fab too.
Will be recomending to friends and family for next year

even though me and my husband are gettıng on a bıt we love comıng to turkey and thıs was the 3rd tıme that we stayed at the hotel.as usually we were very well looked after by the staff. the food was very good. Entertaınemt was very good - ı was a bit unsure about the man dressed as a lady but she was very good and even got my burt up ın stage. had a wonderful time and have already booked to come back ın sept.Overall very good sevice.

We arrived at the hotel very early in the morning. The staff seemed really very nice and quite helpful. It was my first time to marmaris and found the hotel to be satisfactory. We were right in the middle of everything. We did not have far to walk anywhere. The rooms were very basic but we were hardly ever there. The only draw back was that there was a cabaret act going on right below our room until early hours, so would not recomend for families. It is not the cleanist of places but nothing in Marmaris is !!!!!
Otherwise the hotel was lovely, the staff were lovely and would stay here again.
P.s there is a K.F.C right beside the reception with some really nice local boys who will always see you right at the end of the evening!!

MY HUSBAND AND I ARE JUST BACK FROM STAYING AT THE MEHTAP HOTELFOR 2 WEEKS AND SOME OF THE REVIEWS WE READ BEFORE WE WENT WEREN'T TO GOOD SO WE THOUGHT WE WOULD ADD OUR REVIEW. THE LOCATION WAS EXCELLENT RIGHT ON THE BEACH FRONT, HOTEL WAS CLEAN AND THERE WAS A MAID SERVICE EVERYDAY. THE POOL IS VERY SMALL BUT AS WE WERE ONLY 30 SECONDS WALK TO THE BEACH THIS WAS OKAY. THE ENTERTAINMENT IN THE HOTEL IS GOOD IF YOU LIKE THAT SORT OF THING(WE DIDN'T GO TO THE SHOW) STAFF FRIENDLY. IF YOU GO YOU NEED TO TRY A TURKISH BATH IT WAS EXCELLENT. WE WILL DEFINETLY GO BACK TO THIS HOTEL.

WHEN WE ARRIVED IT THE HOTEL THEIR WAS 6 OF US WE WERE GIVING 2 BEDROOMS WHICH 1 OF THE ROOMS CONTAINTED A DOUBLE BED FOR 3 MEDUIM BUILD GIRLS. IT TOOK 2 HOURS TO SORT THE BEDROOMS OUT WHEN WE FINALLY GOT SORTED OUT WITH WOT WE ASKED FOR WE HAD TO GET OTHER PEOPLE OUTOF THEIR BEDS. WE PAID FOR AIR CON IN BOTH ROOMS AND IN 1 ROOM WAS BLOWING OUT WARM AIR THEY TURN IT OFF WHEN YR NOT IN YR ROOM. THE ENTERTAIMENT IS GOOD BUT HOTEL ITS SELF IS BORING AND FOOD IS NOT UP TO MUCH. IF YR GETTING A SAFTEY DEPOSIT BOX PLEASE CHECK IT EVERY DAY AS ITS NOT SAFE AT ALL DOOR IS WIDE OPENN WINDOW IS OPEN IN WHICH THE SAFE IS CONTAINED IN. PLEASE LOCK ALL YR PERSONAL BELONGINGS AWAY WOULD BE BEST IN YR CASE AND MONEY WITH IT BEING LOCKED AT ALL TIME. NITE STAFF ALSO FALL ASLEEP. WE USED TO GO TO ARE FRIENDS BAR TILL 6-6.30AM COME BCK N HE WOULD BE ASLEEP. SO MUCH FOR WATCHING THE HOTEL. WE ALSO HAD MONEY TAKEN FROM OUR ROOMS ASWELL.

Booked half board at the Mehtap hotel, as we have been to Marmaris before and knew the location. The location is great, right on the beach and just round the corner is the shops. Right in the middle of all the nightlife.
The hotel isnt the best we have stayed in, BUT it was the location that drew us to stay here. We couldnt fault the hotel, very clean and tidy, maid service everyday with clean towels. All the staff extremely friendly.
Breakfast was a typical turkish breakfast, consisting of just bread, tomatoes, cheese, cold meats and hard boiled egg, coffee, tea and orange juice. That was the same everyday but it was fine for us. You can go into the restaurant and buy a cooked breakfast and the price was next to nothing. That made a nice change.
The evening meal, you could pick wot you wanted off the menu, except for the steak which would have to be paid for. Varied and very good.
If your half board tho be aware that the only pudding you are allowed to have is melon, and that isnt stated anywhere. I had an arguement with the manager and told him that i would like cheesecake from the menu and he said it wasnt possible, melon only!!! I wasnt happy, so he got the waiters to bring some ice cream for us, which was like our viennetta. very nice, so i asked for it everyday and got it.... 2 days before we were due to come home, my auntie and daughter had the canalonni, they said it tasted lovely, but for days after they had serious food poisoning. They werent well for at least a 10 days. That was the only problem we had.
There is entertainment every night, which is only a drag queen, but a very good drag queen,Bella Beserk. We thoughly enjoyed it every nite, she did do different acts and certainly wasnt the same thing every night. Loved Danny the Geordie, he did a great act too.
The lazy day boat trip on the King Seizer, is well worth doing. very cheap at £6 each and you could upgrade and have an all inclusive day on there. We did the moonlight boat trip also on the same day, that was great. Disco on board, 1st drink free and belly dancer.
Although i rated this a 7, if it hadnt of been for the food poisoning i would of given it 10/10. That hasnt put me off tho. I will definatley go back to this hotel again.

me,& 2 of my best friends went to turkey ,we didn,t actually stay at the mehtap,but my friends did last year,all they did when they got back was rave about how fantastic it was! they took me to the mehtap for a few of the days,we lazed about on the beach while a funny waiter called shaban waited on us,fetching drinks,lollys n generally making sure we were having a good time! the lads in the mehtap itself were brilliant thanks to charlie chicken,driver paul,mehmet,j.j and the georgous justin with the most amazing eyes i,ve ever seen,they were wonderful,i am going away next ymay for a girlie holiday and i,m going to make sure i get in the mehtap,yeah i,ve seen a few bad reviews about the size of the pool but who needs one when you,ve got the beach only a few steps away,it certainly didn,t bother us!!!!

i have come to turkey for 15 years and three times a year staying with the same owners of this hotel, and i have to say after reading all of the other reviews i seriously dont know where you get the crap from! the mehtap is a clean family run hotel that offers fab location and a good stay! yeah it has entertainment but which hotel doesnt?? And im sure ud be complaining if there wasnt entertainment!! food is fab in the restaurant and good service! you can't expect to come to turkey and get gold taps, it is still 3rd world country! As for showers bein cold you find this alot of places in turkey they do their best for everyone! electricity does go off every now and again but again this is common in turkey and marmaris due to the demand! you have to appreciate what they try to do for the bristish public! we love turkey and have returned year after due to high quality of service that you don't get any where else! we love the mehtap and turkey and are all going again in august for another fabulous two weeks!

We went to Turkey for our silver wedding so it was a special time. We arrived at the Mehtap hotel around 3.00am so were really tired, the room turned out to be fine apart from the beds being as hard as a table top. The next morning when we went down for breakfast was really a big shock, the dining area was filthy, we went to the buffet breakfast and really had to look for a clean plate and a knife and fork, you had to ask for tea or coffee and more often than not you got the opposite to what you asked for.
Looking out towards the beach area you had a job to see anything as the doorways were draped with black material !!!!!!!!
The reception was supposed to be manned 24hours but on 3 occasions we had to get our own key as no one was there. We had power cuts most days and when the electric went off so did the water. The corridors were filthy too the fluff was blowing around like tumbleweed.
We ate out at different places every night and the food was lush, so don't be put off going to turkey just avoid the MEHTAP HOTEL.

I saw the last review listed and felt that i had to write one also.
The hotel was clean and tidy and the rooms very nicely decorated and sized.
I was there for 10 days and every day i was given a sunbed, i burn badly and the guys on he beach always made sure that i had enough shade. They were very attentive in getting you drinks and icecreams, you could even eat your meal there at lunch if you wished. They were also very entertaining, bringing your drinks on their heads and singing an dancing all the time. They all worked so hard to make sure that we were relaxed with all that we needed.
The Sera Beach restaurant that is attached to the hotel is also excelent, again the staff were very polite and attentive and the prices are also very reasonable for the high standard of food offered both for breakfast/brunch/lunch and also for your evening meal. For those with kids there was a good kids menu also. In the evening they have a caboret......excelent as this is free! Normal starts at about 2130-2200hrs so more than enough time to have your meal then sit back and relax....the drag artist is excelent and the dancers also were great - - - if you are not also staying at hte hotel they will come and pick you up, even if you are staying in icmeler....they will take you back after aswell!! lol
All in all my stay at the Mehtap was relaxing and i couldn't have expected any more for the money that i paid to stay there....

Do not even consider this excuse for a hotel,the pool is now a third of its former self, the food is over priced, and not very good. We had hot water 3 days in 25 days,we witnessed a sheep being held down and get its throat cut to slaughter it at the back of the hotel.during our stay they demolished the whole top floors apartments, if you dont buy their food and drinks they send you to coventry, a lady who took her own coffee and coffee mate was charged 3 million lira for the hot water to brew it with, around £2.50, We had no sunbeds on the beach for the first 18 days the same with the bar that wasnt built.the so called wheelchair ramp was so steep and slippery it is not safe to risk.On our departure day we was offered no help with our luggage although 8 staff stood and watched my wife struggled with it all as I am in a wheelchair with only 1 leg. the one lift works when it is in the mood, which is rare. No buffet breakfast you get what comes, when it comes. I HAVE ONLY SCRAPED THE SURFACE about this place. avoid The MEHTAP HOTEL like the plauge. be warned.

We never actually stayed in the Mehtap Hotel but our friends did we stayed there day in day out morning noon and nite !
It is in a brilliant location you honestly walk out of the hotel and your on the beach it that close !
The food is really really nice, best food we had all holiday.
Every nite the hotel came alive BELLA BUZURK THE QUEEN OF VISUAL COMEDY was absolutely fabulous no exageration ! One nite in particular i thought i was going to have a heartattack i laughed that much.
Overall the holiday was fantastic going again in july 08 cant wait staying at the mehtap roll on July 08 YYYIIIPPPPEEEE !
It is in a brilliant location you honestly walk out of the hotel and your on the beach it that close !

MY SISTER DAUGHTER AND MYSELF STAYED HERE LAST YEAR FIRST TIME IN TURKY. WE LOVED IT AND R GOING BACK AGAIN JUST BOOKED SAME HOTEL GREAT LOCATION. Daily maid service, great showers!! Love the location, fabulous sea views from most rooms, foods excellent, staff our really freindly and will do anything to help you...I had complications with my bank this time and the owners brother Ilhan was great in helping me contact the UK and use the office for a couple of hours to sort out the situation! Its like a home from home for me and my freinds and family, i have visited many places and stayed in many european hotels and this is one of the cleanest and freindliest places, and close to all amenities.
Going back in September 2008 and cant wait to see everyone!
Its a great hotel...for what your paying you cant ask for more.
