Duman Hotel

Arrived at 5am 05 Sep. found room to be filthy. Carpet on floor had dark stain marks, 1 in particular looked to be "period" blood which had not been properly cleaned. Fridge was iced up and had black mould marks on top of the tray. The TV was sat on top of the fridge, and was still covered in dust.
The toilet sink was cracked, glass soap holder was filthy and had to be washed before it could be used. The shower cubicle had black mould on bottom tiles and in the corners of the shower unit and all along the base.
The rooms had obviously not been cleaned, later found a baggage label of previous resident under single bed, dated 24 Aug 08. Room was not cleaned during entire stay up to leaving 11 Sep.
At breakfast, had to discard 3 chipped cups before could get decent cup. During stay found only the bread basket was covered up. All other trays were uncovered, olives, cucumber, tomato, cheese. Found flies enjoying the cheese, so decided to stick to the bread. Was only covered up on Wed, assume there was going to be an inspection of the hotel after numerous complaints. The manager was also observed scooping olives from the bowl with his fingers and eating them. He was also observed using fork and eating cheeses, then returning fork among the clean cutlery. Milk was served up in ONE small jug which was constantly having to be refilled up, however it was always watered down, and bar boy caught watering it down.

On the Saturday, there were 7 couples waiting for the rep to lodge complaints. The rep took the manager to the rooms and was informed that rooms would be cleaned that day.
The rep said that she would return the following day to check up on cleaning done. The following day, was informed no cleaning done at all. The manager was found by rep, and then said he would get cleaning done straight away. As there had been no cleaners for previous 2 weeks, he had the bar boys to help with cleaning. I went up to my to get changed as 1 of the bar boys arrived at my room. He took the sheets and towels. When I returned at 7pm, surprise surprise, no towels or sheets. No cleaning done at all, had to go to reception to get them, the reception lad had to get them but brought up single sheet and to go back down to get double sheet. I had to go down again as they had taken the toilet paper away as well. A real comedy of errors, you couldn't make it up.
There is a notice at the front of the hotel that NO FOOD OR DRINK SHOULD BE TAKEN TO ROOMS. On the friday morning having returned to the hotel after a walk with my wife, I had a bottle of pepsi in a carrier bag. I had not even got near the hotel entrance before I was met with a shout that I could not even bring any drink onto hotel property. I also asked for the manager to also complain about the rooms, another Turkish man sitting in the chair near the entrance started shouting in Turkish. The tone was of "Stuff you. If you don't like it **** off". During our stay, 2 of the young girls were intimidated into having their bags searched, and another couple had a bottle of wine confiscated which they planned to take to the beach next day, but later returned to them. The staff also were observed readig residents passports, the girls also being told ther dates of birth etc. Residents had their passports retained by staff, and told they could be returned until they were ready to leave. I had already got our passports back on the first morning and was not aware the other residents not had theirs returned.
By the pool, there are no markings to show the pool depths. There are 3 steps down to the shallow end. The depth is approx 5ft at shallow end and approx 12 ft at deep end. For a non swimmer or child, danger is obvious. Near to the edge of the pool there is a trapdoor down to the pump equipment for the pool, this was open permanently during our stay. There was a ladder down to the pump room, but the drop was 10-12 ft. Just as well there were no kids nearby during our stay.
The hotel looks good on paper, and indeed the building looks good with nice reception area, and there is a lot of potential that would make the hotel pleasant. GET RID OF THE MANAGER, who has no interest in the guests.
Though I could write more about the hotel and management, if you are ever offered this hotel as your accommodation, TURN IT DOWN IMMEDIATELY.
Complaints from other residents are being sent direct to Goldtrail, and we will have to wait for their comments.

just came back from this hotel had stayed ther2 from the 2nd to the 9th sept
1 every time you used sink in bathroom it flooded the floor
2 when using the shower the water would not drain out of foot basin
3 towels not changed all week even though we asked several times
4 bedding was changed but on the bed we were not using
5 whilst in room and door locked the manager unlocked door and walked in
we where asleep naked on the bed
6 you CANNOT take food or drinks in to hotel. the first 2 days they did not have bottled water.
7 one couple had put their travel documents in a safety deposit box they got moldy
8 breakfast rubbish flies over it

Goldtrail are aware of the bad reports the hotel gets and 12 complaints went in the week I was there.I spoke to the REP and she is aware about the complaints and the postings on this site and other sites but said " we will still use the hotel and wont stop using it as we are getting the rooms for £9 a night " YES NINE POUND A NIGHT "
I would not use this hotel.I would rather sleep on the beach at least that gets cleaned every night

Other than the bread & the occassional boiled egg breakfast was poor.
Pool was shut 3 days out of the 7 & we were there as it turned green.
Bedding changed once towels twice & shower was poor.
Would not book this hotel again.

do not waste your money!!! arrived on 9th should have been on 8th but to our surprise room wasnt ready had to wait another 2hrs after traveling. we were told to have breakfast, after looking thro dirty cups and knives and forks we decidecd to have bread! we paid for breakfast at english restraunt. room was filthy (Wudnt even put my dog in there!) black mould in shower cubicle about 3inches, shower never drained away for about an hour, had vent in bathroom that looked into ajoining apartment. had a piece of toilet roll on floor from when we arrived and woz never picked up. sheets were only turned over an not changed. towels werent changed in 7 days. the fridge had mould in it, wardbrobe had****apart at top and not secure. , we didnt bother to unpack! pool woz shut for 2 days as bright green, didnt see pool area cleaned at all. lift woz always breaking down, manager an his pal very intimidating avoid at all costs!!!!!!
