We recently stayed with Adonis & his family at the Kafouros, and I can honestly say they are one of the most caring and wonderful aaccommodation owners I have met. Leaving them at the end of the holiday was like leaving family behind.
The accommodation is by no means plush, but it is clean, well kept and wonderfully managed. They are ever present to deal with queries and offer any help needed. The rooms are cleaned meticulously (by family members) every day. Food and bar prices are more than reasonable. The location is great, while off the main road, it is very close to the beach.
I would highly recommend Lolos restaurant just across the road from the Kafouros, the food and service are both excellent. Also try some of the traditional restaurants away from the beach, they are well worth the effort to find them.
There is also a very untypical Irish pub ((the Aigaion) which is well worth a visit for a drink and a very reasonably priced sandwich and maybe an ice-cream dessert at lunch time or indeed any time, most important Irish and English sporting events are available on TV there (but thankfully no Irish rebel songs etc) and the Internet is free to customers. The Greek owner and staff are wonderfully friendly and will find time to be pleasant and chat to the customers. They also make a very good Irish Coffee.
