I stayed at the Marriott for the 2nd time this year (previously visited July 2008) As before we enjoyed our stay tremendously. The hotel is beautifully clean, and staff are polite and friendly, always willing to help. Special mention should be made of the animation team Paola and Saza. These two people made the stay very enjoyable, always happy always busy entertaining guests both day and night, it was also niceto see katya(3rd member of animation team)who returned from holiday prior to our stay coming to an end. Having stayed at the Marriott twice now i would recommend it to everyone, beautiful hotel, great central location, wonderful food and brilliant staff. Myself and friends will be returning at first opportunity.

I went to this hotel with my boyfriend and it was the first time I had been to Egypt. Egypt is a lovely country and the sea and diving is excellent.
The hotel was beautiful, the rooms were huge, along with the beds.
The room was clean, and a cleaner came in every day. She left us little decorations on our bed every day too!
The hotels pool was massive and absolutely gorgeous, although quite chilly, but as the weather is so hot you need it really. Our room was in the main block of the Hotel, it was about a 5-10 minute walk to the beach, the beach was brilliant, white sand, clear blue sea, and very clean. There were a lot of activities to do down there as well and the hotel has a number of trips that you can go on. We went on a snorkelling trip to and to a paradise island - which was actually like paradise with an even nicer beach; we went on a quad bike trip to a village and saw the sun set and had a BBQ with the local villagers. We also went on a trip into Hurgharda. It was very busy and loud, with not very many restaurants and things, as it is not very commercialised yet, however we found a restaurant and I think we ate and had a bottle of wine for about £8!!
I wouldn’t have gone back into Hurgharda town, but you don’t really need too, there is so much at the hotel.
I am blonde and I think the men find this amazing for some reason, so I did get pestered by the men a bit, my boyfriend and I just humoured them and they would leave you alone after a while, they are not bad people, they just want to talk and definitely want your business. If you go into shops they offer drinks and things, but we just didn’t accept any and when we wanted to go we would just say.
The food and drinks were all included, I was happy with the food and there were separate restaurants you could go to, the Italian one was lovely. Lots of people complain about the all Inc food but if you choose carefully what you eat and don’t drink any of the water you should be fine. The selections of all inclusive drinks were good, I was happy with the wine, and cocktails.
There was a lovely bar just outside the main bar where you can sit on the floor on little cushions and smoke the pipes (this is not included) and it was very relaxing. The staff were helpful and friendly and nothing went wrong.
A great hotel for anyone, from couples to young groups.

We had the most fantastic time!!! The best time. It is pure paradise. The marriot is a fantastic hotel the rooms are very clean and comfy just like being at home and the staff cannot do enough for you. The pool and beach were really nice and the Island on a night was magical especially when the moon was full and shimmering on the sea. Very romantic. We stayed Bed & Breakfast and the breakfast wea fab i couldnt believe the chefs cooking what ever you want and toast with lurpack butter. Hurghada was an experince to say the least, Sakala was fab full of lights and shops and shopping malls, plenty of places to purchase bargains (loads of bags) we didnt eat out in Sakala only some fries in the burger King. We eat twice at the Hard Rock cafe in another part of town callled the torist town and there are loads of shops there too but they are higher prices in these shops. Hard Rock cafe was devine food and excelent service. We also went to Hurghada Marine it was very new only been open a week when we went there was loads of resturants there and when all finished there will be 100 shops there are some wonderful shops there where they donnot pester you to come in. There is also a giant thing that shoots you in the air which looked fun also there are loads of posh boats there and a very nice promonade to walk on. We caught taxis from the hotel every night apaprt from the nights we went to Sakala we went on the hotel shuttle bus. The taxis from the hotel were a little more expensive than the local ones but they were safe and had seat belts and droped you off and picked you up at a time you agreed with them we only paid 25 egyptian pounds which is about £2.50.
I receormend this hotel and resort it was a fantastic holiday and we cannot wait to go back again.

What a holiday! What a hotel! What staff! What a way to crash out and re-charge your batteries! And I am definitely solar powered!
We have just returned from our 7th visit to this hotel in the past 4 years, and as always it was amazing... and they collected us from the airport and returned us there at the end of the holiday.
We arranged our own flights from Manchester and booked the hotel direct, although some tour operators such as Panorama and Thomas Cook do packages there.
The location is superb, it has its own beach, and even its own island, complete with bar, and in the summer months live music (of the gentle variety) and you can dine there under the stars with candlelight, and great company (SIGH!)
It is everything that you would expect from the Marriott name, (even down to those fabulous big squashy pillows and lots of them, and huge extra king size beds, or two queen size in the double rooms.)
All the rooms have sea views, and balcony. and the staff are everything we have come to know and love about this amazing country. Happy, smiling, friendly, and honest
The food is great , even the bread and amazing pastries are made in their own kitchens with different themed buffets each evening, and there is a great bar/restaurant overlooking the sea.
At the side of the pool where you can eat lunch, or just have a drink and shade from the sun in the middle of the day.
There is also an internet cafe with wonderful pastries and sandwiches, and The Tuscany a la carte Italian Restaurant which offers silver service and wonderfully tasting and presented food, is said to be one of the best restaurants in Hurghada, and that is a statement not put about by the hotel either!
There is a small night club with different entertainment each night, be it a singer, Pharonic show, African show, Belly dancing, whirling dervish, etc etc, a lovely quiet Patio Bar with small fountains where you can relax with a coffee or a drink, or smoke a Shisha pipe.
And beach bars, all with wonderful, friendly, professional, kind, staff, to whom nothing is too much trouble.
Room service is second to none, and I may be forgiven for making you think that the place impresses us!! Well it does, and when we return now we are greeted with a genuine "Welcome home" and they remember our names, even down to what room we were in or what our favourite spot on the beach was, or our favourite tipple last time we stayed there. What more could you ask for?
There are three different parts to the town to visit, the old town, Dahar, Sekalla and the new modern pedestrianised town, all very different and all a short taxi ride away from the hotel.
This time however, we were so relaxed and happy to recoup we didn’t leave the hotel for the first 4 days, with the assorted facilities, and health spa, gym, massages and sports facilities, (although it was too hot to play tennis!!).
We didn’t need or want to, we had it all where we were, although there are plenty of varied and excellent restaurants around if you want to venture further afield, and even night clubs if that floats your boat
One word of warning though, they say if you love Sharm El Sheik you won’t like Hurghada and vice versa, although you can decide with a day trip to Sharm which takes 90 minutes and costs £45 return each, personally I have never wanted to leave here, but one time we will to see what it is like!!
The swimming, snorkelling and diving facilities in and around Hurghada are fabulous, we even got to swim with dolphins once, wild ones, not in a holding tank as at some places.
Although we prefer to use an alternative to the diving company that operates from the hotel, and use Gulf Divers .com that will pick you up and return you to the hotel after a memorable day with them, including lunch and several dive or snorkel locations all for under £15 each!! Perfick!
All in all? Heaven, we will be back for more time and time again!
In fact, if I died tomorrow I would probably have my ashes scattered off their island!
How's that for impressed?
I absolutely loved this holiday....

I absolutely loved this holiday. Great weather, private beach and a single room that wasn’t like a pokey broom cupboard.
The hotel itself was very clean and the staff were very friendly and obliging. The room was cleaned everyday, and not just a quick clean up. I even had towel sculptures left on the bed. The food was lovely, they cater for everyone’s taste and the quality was better than any hotel I have stayed in.
On the bad side, I wasn’t too keen on the gym being over the road in another building but it wasn’t a great distance, and being a single girl I did experience some pestering inside the hotel from the male staff. But it was not to the extent that I felt the need to complain.
Outside the hotel you get hassled more but since everything you could want is there I didn’t have to leave the hotel that often. In light of recent events, I would say that the hotel itself was very secure, with armed security and metal detectors on the door. It sounds daunting but it made you feel safe.
One piece of advice I would give is don’t bring your own beach towel, your provided with them free and if you don’t use theirs they will constantly ask you your room number etc, understandable from a security perspective but a pain when your basking in the sun or at a really great part of a book.
Overall a top class hotel for half the price of one in Europe. I would definitely go again
