1 week stay from Oct 11 - 18 2011 party of 2 adults and a 14 year old.
I will admit to going with a bit of trepidation having read some of the comments, but need not have worried. It was OK for what we paid. Complex is bigger than I was used to,I reckon 280 apartments with quite a few young families there, but the noise level was not that bad. Entertainment was very good and catered for all and went on until late. Staff were friendly and efficient.I would go again in October (not sure about high season but that would go for Magaluf in general at that time). No word of any robberies or any all night parties happening during our stay I wonder if these reports were written by the vocal minority and the satisfied majority passed on praise by word of mouth.

just back last week after spending a week at sahara. was wary after reading all the bad reviews but we had a great time. no noise through the night, no robberies, nothing that reviews had said. weather great, staff helpful, room basic but just what u need. snack bar good value for money. few minutes walk to lovely beach. lots of places to eat, tom browns lovely. lots of families staying at sahara. had a great time.
- Advice: dont read the reviews decide for yourself once your there. everyone expects different things from holiday.

Family holiday, a dont think so. more like 18-30,s club. booked this as a family holiday for eight of us as we have stayed hear before and had a great time. But unfortunately this time around it was a disaster from the moment we got there. There was four adults two children and one infant and one baby, thought we would of had good view as we were a family but no they gave us a view of a dirty back allyway where they get deliveries and the bin men wake you up at seven in the morning.these appartments faced on to other appartements so you had no privacy and all the young groups of lads and lasses were put hear aswell so you can imagine the noise it was horrible my kids cried for the first few days.Lads and lasses throwing things off the balconies like chairs, glasses, bottles, and screaming on all night long and banging on doors.our one and a half grandchild found canabis on our balconie and had it in her mouth. We asked to be moved every day and all reception said was we will try and move you when a room becomes available. We never did get moved.Love the resort but will never ever stay at the fiesta sahara again.feel like we been robbed saved all year round to be dissapointed like this.feel really let down as we were told it was for family,s.

we booked the fiesta sahara family hotel with a kids club.and went in july when we got there we were told it was a mixture of a family &18s to 30s and there was no kids club. There were drunken yobs staggering about there was swearing in front of chidren banging on your door at all hours of the night putting obscene notes on your doors urinating down the stairwells in front of people.phoning your room all hours of the night. We have been going to the fiesta hotel for 10 years with my family..never never .will we go again. We are still waiting for a reply from thompsons.

i loved magaluf but hated Aparthotel Fiesta Sahara was not a good place to stay, the locks didnt work right and i had to leave the light and fans on all the time so it looked like we was in. I was there for 7 nights and within them 7 nights 10 people got robbed that i knew of, so i spent most of my holiday worrying if i was next in getting robbed, i wouldnt stay at that hotel again if you paid me but thomson reps where very good, i would travel with thomsons again but i think they should think of taking Aparthotel Fiesta Sahara off there books as that hotel will give thomsons a bad name if it already as'nt done. trust me people, its cheap but 7 out of 10 will get robbed

i went to this hotel with my mums mate and her sons, the hotel is amazing, its a family place with loads of entertainment, there was games of water polo during the day and entertainment in the bar of a night, there is loads tere for kids, i went there for two weeks and didnt even want to leave, i will deffo be going back, the only down side was that the was no air con, we brought an air con but if you leave the window's open you will be fine, we had a pool side view and it was lovely of a night, everything in magaluf is local theres a nice family pub across the road, a water park, mcdonalds, kfc, pizza hut and more places, and if your travelling with mates the strip is only down the road to and the massive bcm is right round the corner! magaluf and fiesta sahara is great for families and young groups im deffo getting my family to come back o yeah, remember to put your towels out of a night ;)

I stayed at this hotel along with 3 other female friends all aged between 25 and 30. After reading all the reviews I was dreading staying at this hotel, didnt take my phone or anything to expensive, was hating the thought of seeing used condoms and urine everywhere but was pleasantly suprised. On arrival we were asked to leave a deposit of 30 euros each, none of the families were asked to do that which we found slightly annoying but understood why. The room was tidy and the hotel looked ok in the dark,we arrived about 4am and was no noise at all. The hotel I would say is definitely a family one, there were a few groups of young people like us but no one was causing any trouble,if anything the young children running around were giving the groups of adults mouth and attacking them with water etc, we found it quite amusing to watch though. Most of the guests were families!! Lots of entertainment always going on around the pool which the children seemed to really enjoy, the entertainment crew were always playing with them and doing activities and when we passed the bar at night it was always busy. I appreciate there are probably a few people that had rooms close to loud groups but Im not sure what people expect when taking a family to Magaluf anyway, plenty nice more family orientated places on the island. Our floor seemed to be fine and we made sure our music was off by 12. Only thing I have to say that are bad about this hotel is that our sheets werent changed once and our room only cleaned once,we did the rest ourselves, it really needs airconditioning as our room was so hot and uncomfortable and the rep was only interested in you if you wanted to spend money on going out and getting drunk with them!Staff are also not polite at all,did not see one of them smile.Overall we really enjoyed our time at Sahara, heard of no apartments getting broken into when we were there. It was ideal for us as we just used it as a base really to spend the day by the pool and and then get ready and head out.You need to put your towel out at about 4am to get a sunbed.Dont listen to all the bad reviews, people dont seem to bother writing good things. Not a bad holiday at all!!!

Went in a group of mixed boys and girls ages 17-19 at the start of August for 7 days and it was perfect for our needs... not a family hotel but there was plenty of families there.
After reading the reviews we expected very low standards of the hotel so were thankfully surprised at how decent it was! Everything was clean and the pool was really nice.
We were respectful of the other families there and kept the noise down although we did get back at 5am however there was plenty that were loud and played music; this didnt bother us one bit but probably annoyed the families.
Maga is now a holiday destination for young adults to party and have fun.. Therefore expect drunks and loud people coming in from a good time at the early hours!
Its in a prime location with burgerking down the road and mcdonalds at the end. The spar next to the hotel also catered for all our needs from food and lilos to alcohol.
Recommend eating at Tom Browns (next to mcdonalds) we went there everynight and didnt have one bad meal! plus it was cheap and we were on a small budget :)
BCM is less than 10 minutes away and the strip is around 15; both really easy to get to and so is the beach so its perfect place to be all round
also recommend asking for even numbered rooms as usually they're pool view - got this tip from other reviews and it was true for us
bad points:
the aircon unit was quite expensive so some of us didnt get one however it was toooo hot without aircon so recommend getting it!
Although we weren't affected; we heard about lots of robberys whilst we were staying there.. don't bother getting a safe.. the best recommendation is to have a lock on your suitcase (most likely was hotel staff stealing as there was no signs of forced entry etc)
overall would go back happily :) i love magaaaaaaa!

We booked this hotel as it was rated family with kids club by thomson. Stayed for 2 weeks with a baby and a 7 year old, it was AWFULL. No kids club, full of youg lads and lasses who were drunk constantly, shouting, Screaming, swearing, banging on doors, throwing everything off the balcony, sick, blood and glass in corridors, rooms being robbed, all this went on everyday 24 hours plus much more. DO NOT GO HERE IF THIS ISN'T YOUR IDEAL HOLIDAY.

Just back from a week in Magaluf at this Hotel.
We read a number of reviews before we departed and very concerned we spoke to our booking agent as first choice. She told us she sent her Father in-law and that it was a family orientated Hotel. SO we we went along on this premise. A family of 8 with 6 under 16s this was our worst experience. The hotel was noisy and most of the residents were on stag doos or 18-30s drinking well into 5 and 6am every night. We had abusive phone calls, the doors being kicked which petrified the kids in the next room. We hardly slept. Asked to be moved and got the run around from the Thomson Reps. Under no circumstance should you go to this Hotel if you have small children and expect it to cater for families or kids. It was horrible and we had put in many complaints. Another family actually had broken glass put under the door so they would cut their feet when they ran to the door being kicked at 3AM in the morning. We never saw a happy families there and all were requesting a move or getting an early flight home some after two days,

Basically, travelled here with 4 other girls all 18 the same as me. It was our first girls holiday without parents and we were really looking forward to it. Magaluf itself is great if your young as the strip is very lively and there's plenty of bars and clubs. Upon arriving at the fiesta sahara we had to hand over deposits in case there was any damage done to the rooms which you were given back at the end of the holiday if your room was undamaged. We were given a room at the back of the hotel facing basically a long road which was full of rubbish and some long grass. The rooms were basic but thats all we really wanted as we didnt plan on spending that much time in the room anyway. Problems with the hotel included not being able to get around the pool even at a decent hour in the morning. we noticed a lot of people were putting their towels out at night time so once when we got home at around 5am we went to do the same only to find all the sunbeds took! there is a on site shop which was relativley average priced and the lady there was lovely always saying thankyou and hello. the other staff however wernt very friendly although when we experienced some trouble one night which included my friend getting a boiling hot pot noodle thrown at her from the above balcony it was sorted immediatley by the on site security guard and hotel manager. the group who did it were thrown out. something i will add about magaluf is that you need to be careful. there are lots of black women who walk around the resort who are prostitutes and they rob people. me and my friends spotted this straight away and one night we even witnessed a british man being mugged in the street, the women ran off with his wallet and although people tried to help she got away. We could see the women from our balconys preying on young and middle aged drunk men when they were on their own. we found this very disturbing and all felt very on edge the rest of our holiday. there were also 2 chinese women on the beach who walked around asking if you wanted a massage. we witnessed these 2 women robbing a womans bag and running off. we told the beach man who you paid for the beds from and he explained to us this was an ongoing problem and there simply was not enough police in magaluf so the problem was ignored. like i said me and my friends noticed this straight away and we were really concerned by how everyone else seemed oblivious towards such dangers. all in all an 'okay' holiday and the apartments were okay, not luxury but its not that type of holiday.
