It still makes me laugh that families even consider Magaluf!
Well stayed in the Fiesta Sahara July '08 for 2 weeks with 4 mates. It was the best holiday ever!! The appartments are basic but clean. Make sure you ask for a pool view otherwise you have such an awful view of bins! The pool was really good except from when you didnt have a sunbed but we each took turns of getting up to put towels down.
The Fiesta Sahara isn't far from the strip or the beach which was good! The frozen cocktails which they sell just off the beach are amazing for a hangover plus they are yummy! Food wise we had bad experiences as we hated most eating places. But they sell potnoodles in the shop so we worked round it haha But we did the the scottish pub which served food just along from the appartment and it was cheap!
Magaluf at night is amazing! There is something for everyone! We loved Mulligans because we are into indie music. We never spent that much at night we bought a huge carry out from the shop the first day so we could get drunk before we went out!BCM had loads of good Dj's when we were there too like tiesto! Bananas was really good too!
Pirates is defo a must! We got 3 free pitchers of anything we wanted as we ot moved seats which was a bonus! Most people end up smashed after pirates!
The holiday overall was great! Already booked for summer'09 unfortunetly not for the Sahara but would defo recommend it to anyone (except families)! Im missing it already ...
Also when security tell you your getting evicted don't take it seriously! We are still waiting to get kicked out! haha

we were very worried about this holiday because of the reviews ive read on this site. but we shouldnt of worried because the hotel was fantastic the staff were friendly and very helpful. the rooms were very clean and big the balcony was huge me and my girlfriend ere very impressed! i would recommend you get a safety deposit box at 14 euros per week you cant go wrong! the food at the hotel was quite expensive but you have got a selection of restaurants just metres away which were cheap and spot on! so i really cant understand why this hotel has got bad comments because me and my girlfriend loved it. the only negative thing i have to say is the weather wasnt the best it was red hot first couple of days then thunderstorms afterwards for the rest of the week! make sure you try mrs doyles irish bar and hollywoods cracking bars nice friendly staff!

Booked the hotel as it was classed for family's, and it was anything but. It was full of drunked foulmouthed brits. They sat around the pool during the day shouting, sweraing and telling everyone how may times they had had sex on there hols. music blasting from open doors during the evening, then at 5am the noise starts!! banging, shouting, singing hammering on doors untill about 6.30am. Used condoms found in stairwells and under doors, fast food cartons all over the place. Food was basic and bland. You could get much better for cheaper in lots of other places.

We booked our holiday nearly a year in advance, we took our two small children with us and they could clearly see they were babies. The brochure states family hotel as of september. This is not the case. The Hotel is very clean, the staff employed by fiesta are fantastic and deserve an award. The only thing that ruined this holiday for us were the 18 - 30 british guests who give the UK a bad name. They were rude, not consideration for anyone but themselves and they completly ruin the hotel. They smashed a lift mirror stole plaques from the walls, played music unitl daft a clock in the morning and continued to scream and shout when coming home from clubs at 6am. I am a young mum and appriciate people want to have a good time but they have no respect and would not treat there property like that or disrespect people the way they do other tourists. The Fiesta staff were fantastic especially the entertainers always had time to speak to you and your party. As for the Thomson reps, one guy needs sacking his attitude stinks.. Would go back to the hotel on the basis the rude rep was not there and I could get a babysit at home before going. Only ideal for kids towards back end of september.

this hotel is not suitable for older couples. the hotel itself is clean and comfortable but our holiday was ruined by the mindless antics of drunken groups who had no consideration for anyone . i applaud the hotel staff who coped so well under such difficult circumstances. the endless shouting, swearing and fighting was very intimidating at times . i am aware that the brochure says the hotel is lively but i think it should also issue a warning to potential older guests

Absolutely brilliant hotel. There was 4 girls in our group, and even though there were quite a few families in this hotel there were groups of young people. The pool is amazing apart from being freezing!Food in the pool bar was good and cheap and the rooms had everything you needed fridge, kettle, toaster etc for if you wanted to cook in your room at night! My only negative comment was the music round the pool was awful! The CD's were repetaed everyday and Genie in a Bottle can get extremely annoying! We also must of had borrowers living in our room as things were found in different places and we received mini wounds however nothing went missing from our room, paying for the safe is defo worth it.I will defo be returning here next year,my only note to people is to be aware that you are required to leave a 30euro deposit each, not per room and this was quite alot but apart from that get yourself booked in the Sahara for next year!

just got back home from spending 2 weeks at the fiesta sahara, there was my partner myself and our two kids aged 5 and 2. we had a great holiday and we really liked this hotel, it is true that alot of young groups stay here but there are also plenty of families who stay hear too, its like as though the hotel is split in two with one block housing the young groups and the opposite block housing the families, couples etc, being in the family block we had no problem with noise etc apart from the very last two nights where we had 2 groups moved in either side of us for some odd reason, we noticed though that the last 2-3 days alot of the families were going home and there were more younger groups arriving like as though all the families were getting back home for school term and the groups coming out taking advantage of the cheaper prices, so maybe they were moved in either side of us because there was no more room for them the other side so if i ever go back to this hotel i'll be sure to leave a few days earlier, though any noise caused is solved by reception and the security guards are strict! the only main issue i had with this hotel was the heat in the rooms, this hotel seriously needs to think about putting in some air con, at night time was the worst time. otherwise this hotel was great nice friendly staff, clean rooms, large beautifull pool ( though if u want a sun lounger you'll need to get one befor 9am) perpect location close distance to every thing - resturants, shops, entertainment bars (baccos & bobbys) water parks and the must see pirates adventure is just 5 miniutes walk away, dont rely on the entertainment at this hotel as it really isnt that great lol though it was nice just to stay there for a coupla nights for the kids to play together and form friendships. All in all ide rate this hotel as going with as a family as 7/10 and if they did have air con and better entertainment this hotel would be perfect and would defenatly get a 10/10

after we booked this holiday for 3 adults and 1 child for 1 week stay here we read the reviews and thought we had made a huge mistake with all the bad reviews that were going on about this place.
how wrong we were this place was great for what we paid close to everything pool is awsome western water park was brill and a short walk away or 4 euros in a taxi make sure you watch the man dive from 25 meters up WOW. rooms were basic but we only slept in them we was out all day, true it can get noisey but its not that bad, rooms are warm too but ive been in hotter ones if you have kids try benny hills at night.
for our food we went to tom browns just 2 mins walk near mcdonalds food was fantastic and big enough it does get very busy though.
reps were ok,be early for the sunbeds though they soon get reserved not by the germans cause the beauty of this place there is none, its 99% english.
all in all i say to anyone who as doubts about it dont worry like we did you will be fine pack your cases and get there and enjoy

Absolutly amazing holiday!! The hotel was clean and basic just what we all wanted on our holiday! Magaluf itself was very clean! I was so shocked! Maid came every other day but if u only go for a couple of days or 4 a week the maid only comes once! But we were lucky cuz we went for 10 days a perfect amount of days! Back to the hotel expect some music being played from rooms and some shouting occasionally but over all not that bad! 3 minute walk from BCM which is amazing!
The pool is massive but have to get your sunbeds no later than 9! Which isnt good with a hang ova!! haha!
Loads of security guards at night! There are two blocks, one of which is the quieter one and the other one is a joke! Families, girls and couples are in the quiet block the ladz are in the others!
If you are in the quiet block please just take a trip to the noisy block its hilarious like another world!! haha!
Overall holiday was amazing so suprised bout hotel perfect location NO NOISE FROM CLUBS WOTSO EVA!!!!

During our stay in the hotel we had a great time,it was me and 3 other girls aged 21.the hotel was very lively, thats what we expected as it is shagluf! We had lovely neibours, bar a few who thort it was fun to through glass off the balaconies. The hotel staff, security were nice we didnt have any problems with them. Rooms were very basic, but clean.we could have done with our sheets and towels changed more offen. Also in the night rooms are very hot that u have to sleep with patio doors open.as we were only stayin a week we wanted to sunbathe by the pool a few days, but there was never enough sun loungers, you had to get down there early,we were all too hungover!! The nightlife in magaluf, well what can i say! It was brillient,we didnt go to bcm as foam partys arnt really our thing, and being from london we dont like that kinda music.we found alex bar good, plays good music, funky house, garage, ect. Then after that we would go boomerang, where they had romeo and harvey from so solid crew! Or we would go to tokio joes. We found a nice place to eat along the beach front called chilli. Overall i had a lovely time in magaluf and would defo come again, for two weeks!

We went to this hotel as a family group (with a six year old boy and a 13 year old girl) and we thought the hotel was great. Family groups don't pay the 30 euro deposit and as far as I could see they were accomodated in a separate (quieter) block. The pool could be noisy and busy during the day but it is quieter in the morning and after 4pm so we went down then. It was always clean and we always got loungers. The rooms are basic but clean, the only complaint is that they are too hot, the ceiling fan is useless! The Thomsons reps were very friendly and helpful. There were people coming in at night making a bit of noise but what do you expect from a hotel in Magaluf? It was in no way excessive and we slept well (apart from the heat). The hotel is close to everything (the beach, shops, pubs etc) and I would say don't worry about the scary reviews. I spent the weeks leading up to my holiday worried sick for no reason!

I had the most amazing 2 weeks in magaluf .. i was gutted when we had to come home. the only things that i would have complained about though was the heat. I love the sun when u are sunbathing and stuff but it would have helped if the fan actually did anything. the rooms wer far too hot especially when u were trying to sleep, also when we booked up we were told the hotel was mad and they didnt mind how much noise u made but our corridor constantly had securtiy telling us to keep our music down really low. one of the security men was a total creep. Apart from that thoughit was awesome.. magaluf 2009 here we come .........
