worst holiday ever, I can't believe they try to sell this as 4*! One staff member spat in my face. We're living in 2011 now and that is not on. The staff were inpolite, the rooms were disgusting and the all inclusive service was a joke, we were asked to pay after one drink and food wasn't served until 11pm.

From the onset this hotel was terrible. The staff are unhelpful, unfriendly and unhappy. The food is cheap rubbish, and the bar makes you queue for each drink like a child. If you want to relax and enjoy a holiday, don not go here unless you like chips.
Bring back Basil Faulty - all is forgiven!!!

perfect way to lose weight
Have just returned from 7 night ai stay with husband, one teenager and one six year old. Hotel is centrally located and little noise on an evening. Rooms are very clean and very cramped with four people. Food is disguisting breakfast consists of Chips (yes), Cornflakes and baked beans. Lunch - Salad, one meat dish and the ever faithful chips, Diner- Salad, two meat dishes and guess what chips. To sum up if you like chips morning noon and night this is the place for you. However eating out is expensive approx 60 euros for family of four and drinks outside Smirnoff Ice 4 euros, soft drink 2 euros. No entertainment and 60 euros to keep hotel room on after check out time. If the food issue was addressed this could be a first class hotel.
NEVER AGAIN!
Stayed here beginning of October, when we arrived in our room there were dirty towels and a sticky brown goo on the floor! Phoned reception who said bring towels down to reception and they will give us some more and did nothing about the dirt, except from that the rooms were modern and spacious with neon lights around the room! and flat screen tv! also the balconys have electric shutters. In the bathroons there are no plugs in bath and you have to hold the shower yourself as there is nothing for it to balance on. I ended up putting a cup over the plug to run a bath but then water came up through the bathroom tiles.. Went in restaurant once to find there were flys all over the food! Food is unedible! We ended up eating out every day! Also the my daughter was eating an ice cream to find a wasp inside!! ( The syrup for ice creams are left open when i looked inside they were full of wasps! Pool and bar area is nice. If you go to the Fish Bowl Bar across from the hotel they do a great range of cocktails which are included on the all inclusive! We spent one of are days in the spa which is quite good is 20 euros a day and kids are free! Bar staff in the day were friendly but there at night they were all miserable and would make the all inclusive guests wait whilst they served paying customers!
Appearance very nice, food not so good and no entertainment!
Me and my girlfriend did enjoy our stay at the majestic. We read some really poor reviews before we came and really weren't expecting the hotel to be great. The most common reviews that we read were the poor food and the rude staff. I can say that the food was not the best but we usually found something to eat. I was put off by the flies in the pasta. As for the staff we got on really well with them apart from one receptionist who was very rude to us! The only other negative was the amount of wasps around the pool, this is not the hotels fault I think it was just Laganas in general, the time of year and fizzy AI drinks by the pool. The location is right in the middle of the main strip of Laganas, although it is very close to the heavy nightlife you can't hear the noise from the main strip. Many people moaned about the AI drinks but we thought they were fine, not different from any other AI. I think this would be one of the better hotels in Laganas but we didn’t really enjoy Laganas, heavy nightlife but nothing else to do. The spa wasn't free, and not cheap, we weren’t going to pay to use it. I would definitely recommend this Hotel to somebody travelling to Laganas but if it's not the clubs you want they try alykanas and alykes. There are many places to eat on the strip if you decide you can't do the AI food anymore. I highly recommend the boat trip around the island we really enjoyed it. A few more positives include the overall hotel appearance. It was recently modernised and the bar area is nicely furnished. You can see the underground SPA pool from the BAR area through glass on the floor. It did get busy around the bar at night but if you have a joke with the bar staff and get to know them they give you a little bit of preferential treatment. I tipped them on the night I left. The rooms were small but have everything that was needed. If you get the option then get a pool view as the other views aren’t too great. We always got a sunbed during the day.
Favourite place was the beautiful beaches, St nicholas beach is best..
Arrived 5th October till 12th October 2008. This was all inclusive accomodation. was lead to believe spa was all in with the price of holiday but this was not so,. Spa was an additional 20euros per day. Hotel was very clean. Maids changed beds daily. Food was ok for all inclusive. it was strange how they served chips with brekkie, lunch and tea. They did however have difficulty keeping the food warm, I think i saw 2 chicken dishes all week and three or four beef(casserole) dishes... Greece beef isn't quite as nice our british beef. Salads, and pasta dishes was plenty... I did have an iffy tummy half way through holiday but could have been too much sun(went to water park for the day) or cocktails,.. you dont know how much your getting cause they just pour it all in,,,,(lol) Bar staff Natasha during day was lovely, very pleasant... Two males on in evening one a youngish lad(Kel) i think his name was- he was ok; and an older one who fancied himself, very egotistical and cocky(ha) Beaches were beautiful, lagannas ok but st nicholas was brill. The best way to see island is by bike(mopeds or quads). To hire a moped is only 12 euros for whole day, 20 euros for quad..
Perfectly acceptable All Inclusive Hotel in a party resort
The hotel and resort pretty much conformed to our expectations. Although its 4 star, being an all inclusive hotel on the main strip in a Greek party resort with a buffet restaurant we rightly didn't expect it to be fancy. The hotel did try to some degree to create a classy feel but some people interpreted signs saying not to wear shorts in the restaurant to mean not wearing shorts or anything else over their swimwear other than t-shirts, and being in a party resort there were some guests who were inconsiderately noisy at night. We thought it was nice to have an all inclusive buffet that served the food of the country we were staying in and whilst my husband and I were generally happy with the food we were less than impressed one morning when we went on an early excersion and were told we couldn't eat the hot breakfast items until 7.30am (meaning they were going to sit there for at least 20 mins which kinda put us off the next day). The buffet doesn't offer a huge choice and some mealtimes it seemed to be 90% meat dishes others 90% vegetarian so if you are fussy eaters or vegetarians or meat eaters who want meat with every meal you may not want to eat in the hotel but we found we liked most of what was offered, which aside from having Greek salad available every lunch and dinner we were pleased to find did vary. With the price of food and drink outside the hotel we were very glad that we had gone all inclusive, and believe if we'd done as some other tourists we met had and eaten out every day it would probably still have been worth going all inclusive for soft drinking during the day and enjoy the cocktails in the hotel bar, and from 9pm-11pm in the bar in front which faced on to the mainstrip (and was good for people watching). The hotel was full and didn't have much spare capacity for tables for meals, at the bar or (slightly less so) for sun-loungers but we did always manage to get a seat/sunloungers and thankfully there was no leaving beach towels for hours to save sunloungers mentality amongst the guests. I would recommend this hotel to families, couples or groups of friends who want to go all inclusive but still have nightlife on the doorstep, but only those who get a good deal and don't mind that the hotel gets its 4 stars probably because of a little used spa and some fancy lighting. Don't expect luxuary and do expect to wear ear-plugs if you are a light sleeper. We won't be going back but I have to be really impressed not just by a hotel but also its location to go back - there's a whole world out there so we don't even think about back to places unless they blow us away which whilst we had a good holiday neither this hotel nor Zante did.
Forced to stay here - do not stay here
Booked though Libra Holidays to stay at the Zante Park Hotel. Libra did not pay their bills and we were forced to stay at the Majestic. We paid £1800 for just 7 days and were transferred to this hotel. It is right in the centre of Laganas which can only be described as an 18-30 hell hole. Every night there were drunk teenagers having fights and one night someone actually died (some poor 17 year old who shouldn't have been served alcohol in the first place.) Alto have taken over from Libra (which has now gone bust - surprise surprise) and have refused to compensate us for this horrible experience.DO NOT BOOK A HOLIDAY WITH THIS COMPANY. The hotel was packed with people. The food was appalling, the drink watered down and the room was dirty and rarely cleaned. The Manager was disinterested in our plight. All in all we were so happy to get home we needed another holiday (AND PROZAC) to recover!
Good value for the money
The hotel was Ok for the money we paid. The room is rather large, all rooms have a balcony, the furniture is new. However, the cleaning needs improovements: the bed clothing were indeed washed but stained, the towels were changed at 2-3 days and they didn't look quite atractive, the bathroom furniture was not properly cleaned and there was dust on the furniture and floor. The room have a safe deposit box, we've paid 3 eur / day. The food is ok; in the morning they have the same choices everyday and the evenings were inspired by diferent themes (italian, greek, chinese...). Anyway, there is no healthy food for children/babies. The beverages bar is very crowded during lunch and dinner so you have to wait a few minutes to get your drinks. The pool area is ok. In the night, until arr. 2 am you can hear the crowds from the clubs near the hotel, especially if you have the view towards the street. The hotel is rated with 4* and we've paid 530 eur / pers. for 7 nights (including the flight).
average hotel
we have stayed in this hotel for 14 days all inclusive. we paid 1200eur with plane card... when we come to the hotel the men reception was wery roud and lazy. He gave us a room in some basement.Small, in the shower i could not move and i am not fat:) so, disaster! the second day friendly reception girl gave us a better room , we kindly asked her. She gave us a triple room, very big and modern like i have seen on the internet. food was very good, great salad bar...but don be too late very noisy was this manager or head receptionist (i do not know) he looked every time if everybody is wearing all inclusive bracellet. he looked at your plate what are you eating and how much you drink... disaster hotel doesnt have a hotel beach. beah is 500m away from the nosiy street with english man. for sun beds and umbrella 6 euro/day... i think there is a better hotel for some muc money in the greece.
Above average hotel for Laganas
My wife & i stayed at the majestic from the 2nd to the 9th of september 2008. On our arrival we were booked in by a pleasant & helpful receptionist. We were directed to our room & when we arrived i was pleasantly surprised. The decor was ikea style dark mahogany & was welcome to the eye. The hotel is rated 4* ! i would agree with this in relation to other accomodation you would stay in Greece. For anyone going to laganas this hotel is probably the best you will come across, recently refurbished, clean, & centrally located. We found our room to be cleaned daily, although the housemaid never made the beds. The Bedsheets were folded and placed neatly at the bottom of the bed. Each room had security shutters which you could close, this drowned out any noise which you will get in laganas. The windows & doors are also double glazed. As other members have stated the air conditioning only works when you are in your room!!!! Not so! i thought i'd tell the receptionist i'd mislaid my card in the room & could'nt get in. I aquired a new card & Then was able to activate the electrics & air conditioning. The card is just like a credit card with an electronic chip, it opens your door & then you insert it into a slot to activate your electric.( a tip dont leave your card in the slot until your room is cleaned, you might have it confiscated). The hotel food is what you would expect from an all inclusive! basic, edible, and quite repetitive. We were only there for 7 days & i was getting a bit put off by eating the same old cuisine. (god help anyone who is staying for two weeks). Other than this if you prefer you do have the option of eating elsewhere as there is plenty of places on the main strip you could choose from. Overall the holiday we had for 7 days was enough. We wanted a 7 day holiday with sun (which we got, 35 deg,) We booked a trip around the island by boat, all day trip 0830- 1730 picked up outside your hotel total price 40 euros not bad. And the rest of the time sunbathing. We went the first week after the schools went back & the hotel was relatively quiet. Most of the holidaymakers are from eastern europe & sweden with a few english. At times getting served at the hotel bar it was a nightmare! The bar staff at times can be quite ignorant (i dont know whether its there nature) but it could take an eternity to get served especially at meal times! God help anyone who holidays here in the peak season. Overall i feel the time we spent here it was ok for a 7 days holiday, no more especially for families & couples. Young singles could tolerate longer with the nightlife & bars available. If you do go on holiday to laganas hopefully my review will be helpfull.
Great hotel
The hotel was very clean, and quiet although in the middle of the noisy town of Laganas. The hotel manager was very helpful at all times. Our triple room was very big, the bathroom also big. Furniture and the whole set up very modern. Environmental friendly with a/c free of charge, and not working when doors were open. All inclusive food was of good quality. Common areas clean in general. There were no common activities. The chlidren care was in Polish language which was a disadvantage, and the lady not cheerful at all. What we found expensive was the 25Euros per day charge for using the Internet, and the 15euros per week for using the safebox. In generall the hotel owner that we met Mr. Pylarinos keeps the hotel in a good order. Certain alchohol drinks are free of charge up to 23:00 not only at the hotel bar but also at a bar in front of the hotel that is at the main road of Laganas. Car and moto parking was available free of charge.
