Reviews of Bal Beach Hotel, Gumusluk

We were transferred to this hotel at the end of our holiday for only two days as we had a flight change. Thank goodness we only had to sleep in it for 1 night, it was totally disgusting. Nothing like any of the photos on web site. Please do not go to this fly ridden place. The room was damp full of mould and down about 30 stairs it was like a dungeon. The Septic tank was right outside our door, walls had holes with electric wires taped together, fur on bottom of bathroom door, holes in celing that water dripped through from upstairs. Stairs were very steep going down to room and no bannister to hold on too. Pool was down a very steep hill and yes more stairs.

It was in the middle of nowhere and journey to it was scary. The food was cold and horrible. It the worst accomodation I have ever stayed in.

No other westerners, all other guests were Turkish, they did make our night though they are very nice people and although they could not speak English they had us up dancing, at least they took our mind off the appalling state of the hotel. You could not sit in the restuarant to eat for swatting flies and wasps. Best meal was breakfast as they made omelette ad it was hot.

I would not send my worst enemy to this Hotel. PLEASE RE-CONSIDER IF YOU HAVE BOOKED. I have never commented before but felt I had to warn you.

To many moaning Brits, expecting more than what they paid for, Hotel has beautiful views, sunshine and friendly staff.

The hotel is run down, dated and not very clean. The poolside toilets are disgusting. The all inclusive includes 3 meals a day which are exactly the same every day. There was very little meat except very small amounts of chicken and no fish. So if you are vegatarian its ok. The staff in the main are friendly but speak no english. Look out for the surly receptionist who charged 1 lire for the phone one day and the next day put it up to 10 lire!

It is not within walking distance of anywhere but a local bus is very good and goes to Bodrun and Gumusluk regularly. The pretty fishing village of Gumusluk is 10 mins away by bus. The restaurants are lovely and the setting is gorgeous.



On the positive side the pool is good and about 20 yards from the sea which is beautiful. But be aware that it is quite a steep walk down from the hotel itself.
