Our holiday
9 / 10
Jan 2009, rachaelandmatty

My partner and i stayed here for two weeks and felt very welcome for the whole duration of our holiday, the staff (andy, sue and zoe) were all really helpful and friendly. The pool and surrounded area were really clean and well maintained with a lovely view of the sea and island. the pool bar served a good variety of drinks, and although they did not do food you could order from a local restaurant who would bring it down to the pool bar for you. The greek night with bbq food, ouzo dancing and games was very enjoyable and very good value for money!
The rooms were typically greek with just basics such as kettle and two small rings and were kept very clean. the only complaint about the accomodation was the lack of air conditioning and not very comfy pillows. the balcony was great for having breakfast and dinner on as we had the best veiw we have ever had with views of the sea, island and zante on clear day.
The local restaurants were all very nice with the exception of Inopolis which served what tasted like frozen kalamari, and Casa de blue. The best restaurants are La mer and Spiros. Greek Island and the Olive Lounge are also very nice. All the restaurants were very reasonably priced.
The boat trip to xi beach was very good with a nice bbq on the beach and champaign diving, no dolphins however. the island tour with the caves was also very good but the coach had bery poor air conditioning so would defanatly recommend car hire
We will defantly be returning to these apartments again and would defantly recommed this holiday!!!

antonia studios. lovely view pity...
5 / 10
Jun 2008, spyglass

antonia studios. lovely view pity about the dirty studios and bar noise. sea view from top floor studios superb, but our room was dirty for almost the whole 2 weeks with my wife having to get a brush etc to clean up, we also had to empty the dustbin and the container in the shower room several times.
there are several very good tavernas in the resort, la mer whilst using local produce has an international flavour to it, greek island serves traditional greek food to a very high standard, olive lounge has great views and lovely food, whilst klimatis down on lourdas beach is well worth the journey.
the resort is a little way from the beach but now the local council has put on a bus, 1 euro each way. the walk down to kanali beach is pleasant in the morning but hard work when you leave in late afternoon. if you do go to kanali essential to take lots of wtare and a sun shade as there are no tavernas and no shade at all. the beach is sandy and the water nice an shallow to frolic around in.
would not recommend the resort for families with young children or for anyone unused to or unwilling to walk. the vast majority of people at antonia's hired cars for the whole of their holidays.

These apartments are quite spacious...
8 / 10
May 2005, Asset

These apartments are quite spacious and clean, although the walls could have done with a coat of paint during the winter months, they are ideally situated just across the road from the beach with just sixteen rooms in the building.
The road leading from the beach up to the main village is very steep, but we were aware of this having visited the resort in September 2003 when we last went to Kefalonia, (definitely not suitable for people with walking difficulties). During our two weeks there we hired a car from Neptune Rent A Car in
Lourdas for five days (they were doing an offer of pay for 4 days and get 1 day free) this cost 100euros, which seemed to be quite a good deal. We went over to Ithaca for the day by ferry from Sami and drove all round the island, quite remote there but the scenery is splendid. We visited a variety of restaurants, Spyros, Casa de Blue, Magic Hill, Kalafatis in Argostoli and Trifilli which is opposite the Lara Hotel in Lourdas, we only found this a few days before coming home, they do an excellent home made pizza there, in fact we never had a bad meal anywhere. The temperature when we first went out was hot but pleasant and during the last few days it became extremely hot and a bit uncomfortable.
The resort hasn’t changed much during the last twenty months, a bit quieter if anything but I have to say they have spoiled the beach by cramming in so many sunbeds and umbrellas. Don’t know if we will go back again as we have now visited all the places we wanted to see.
