Myself and my family came here during the Easter holidays. We all enjoyed our stay, the staff were very friendly and kind to us and there was alot of entertainment for the kids: the pool which was very clean, arcade which we spent alot of money in! and showbar which had great entertainment, shows and dancing. There was alot to do outside the park, Colchester Zoo, Clacton Pier, Shopping, Beach overall it was very enjoyable but I must admit there was one problem. We chose to stay in a gold graded caravan, most of it wasn't very clean. We wanted to have a fry up but the saucepan's and frypans and everything were filthy, there was a small hole in the wall the sofa was stained and the same for the bed covers. I would recommend this but it's best not to spend too much money on the grade of your caravan because we payed alot of money for a filthy caravan. Overwall i would rate it 7.

Myself and my 4 year old girl went to valley farm in September 2010 and I have to say it was by far the best holiday park holiday I have ever had (had a few)!!!
The staff were so friendly on collecting my keys they all had big smiles on their faces and were very knowledgeable about the area and the park which helped on knowing where was best to eat out and how far away the beach was etc.
when arriving in my unit (with the help of a lovely member of staff who helped me carry my case to my van as he could see I was on my own with a child) it was lovely & clean.
The entertainment centre all the evening the staff were very professional happy and talkative, they came straight over to my little girl (who is normally shy) and managed to get her to join in games on the stage.
Even the park shop was well stocked with friendly staff, my daughter had a brilliant time in the pool & the arcades, even the price of the holiday was value for money the only thing I would say is take a lot of pennies for the arcades because they were really addictive!
I really couldn't fault anything on this park!!!
I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PARK TO ALL MY FRIENDS & FAMILY!
- Advice: Try it, it's surprising how great the park is.

I had previously read all the reviews on Valley Farm Park, mostly negative with some scary stories......
But, thought I would experience it for myself and was very pleasently surprised.
After a 2 1/2 hour journey, we arrived at Valley Farm to a very warm welcome in reception and they told us everything we needed to know.
Had a quick look around the site before we 'moved in' to our silver caravan and thought not bad on 1st sight.
After unpacking in our silver caravan ( yes it couldv'e done with a bit of a makeover but liveable for a week) went out for a bigger look.
Swimming pool~ excellent facility, clean, and tidy indoor and out, nice friendly staff, no problem (1st bad review wrong!)
Amusement arcade~ little bit 'dated' but no worries, security looking out and doing a good job, again impressed.
Restauraunt~ ok, nice menu, could've been a bit bigger but good food, as we found out later.
Entertainment~ Same layout as most holiday parks have, so no surprises, but found staff to be very friendly, very proffesional, very good with the kids (does help!) and very natural.
Great every morning at all the kids clubs, and good decent entertainment for ALL the family in the evening.
I went on holiday with my wife, my nephew and my 4 children and we ALL came back pleased, happy and content with the holiday we just had. So much so we've booked again, at Valley Farm Park, for next year.(2011)
So anyone who feels like they've had a bad experience at Valley Farm, go abroad! go somewhere else! or take a good long look at what you got, you aint getting it anywhere else for this money, value for money, and 7 of us that all went together can't all be wrong!!!!!!!!!!
THANK YOU VALLEY FARM HOLIDAY PARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

slightly reluctant after reading the reviews, but on arrival my caravan was ready so was let in early - result - as had 2 young children and had had a long journey, the caravan was a silver grade which I must say was very nice and very clean, the swimming pool has had a refurb and was very nice and the entertainment was fantastic for kids and adults alike and had a great time, all the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, will definately come back here

so we booked a bronze caravan, there was 2 adults and 4 children ranging in age from 2-5. when we arrived the curtains inside the caravan were ripped and there was a massive pile of cigarette butts outside the caravan!
we also went to discover the entertainment hall and the arcade and were very dissappointed! it was dingy and dirty looking and could not see any staff anywhere!
the next morning we decided to attend the childrens sparky corner which promised entertainment for the children but was actually a pile of dirty looking clothes on the floor and a very bored looking member of staff. so after 10 mins the kids said they were bored and wanted to go, and we did.
then we decided the take the kids swimming and were unimpressive with the pool as there were no toys or floats for the children. and again this looked very old and not the cleaniest place but with no other option as the children were so bored we decided to swim!
although i really wish we hadnt as we discovered maggots in what was the baby pool! and there was more than one and to our disguist they were alive!!!! when we scooped one out and called a member of staff over she just grabbed a bit of toilet paper over it! but we told her about the others and they we got outta there as quick as possible!!!
after showering everyone back at the caravan we decided to go and speak to managemant who were a waste of space! they refused us a refund and the general manager, james flynn, told us it wasnt his fault so they was nothing he could do! all the staff we saw were disrespectful and rude and were unwilling to help in anyway!!!
we left that day and my 3 year old daughter, my 2 year old godson and myself were ill that night and the next few days with vommitting.
thsi park is absolutlely disguisting and i woud never go there again, the staff are vile and the place is dirty and outdated, avoid it at all costs!!!!!
- Advice: avoid this disguisting place at all costs!!!!

Stayed at Valley Farm Holiday Park in Clacton In September 2010 with 2 adults & 4 children. Got the keys for our GOLD 'New Unit 2010' Caravan. Walked in and got hit with a dreadful smell of stale cigartes. Started to look around and notcied pieces of food smeared against the cupboard doors and food gathering in the corners of the units. Opened the cutlery draw and was horrified to see left over food crumbs.Everything had to be cleaned before we could use it. Seatee had stains and buttons missing. We paid for a NEW UNIT 2010 Caravan so it was quite a shock to find it in such an appauling state. Called the Park Reception and they sent some Guy round with a bottle of fairy liquid and a Air Spray. Started spraying the freshner in our faces and had to ask him to stop while i removed the chidren from the room. Went around the park to check out local amuesments & resturants, only to find a shabby (if you can call it) "Resturant", with a tacky snooker table. Amusments on the park were O.K but maybe could have been better as half the machines didnt even work! . The smell of Mould was quite unpleasent and we left the park everyday to go find some decent entertament and resturants. Wouldnt go here again! :/

The park was unclean - dog dirt in lots of places and outside your caravans. Swimming pool was the dirtiest I have ever seen. Water in pool cloudy, hair, chewing gum, debris floating about. When you got out not a trace of the smell of chlorine could be noticed on your costume. Water that had pooled over the side was just swept back into the pool. The pool just stank. My children, lasted 15 minutes and asked to come out because it was smelly.
Mini golf falling apart and some holes you could not use.
Lots of kids allowed to run riot. My boys came home with a few choice words they had picked up from others. Underage smoking and drinking in your face. I had an empty can of lager thrown at my feet by a girl who must have olny been 13yrs old during the day.
It is awful and seems to attract people who have no consideration for others. The caravan was disgustingly dirty. Never again.

After reading these reviews i considered cancelling my holiday but was reassured by the park that it was lovely, and they were right!
I arrived at the park around 2pm although i couldnt get in until 4, but was told on arrival my accomodation was ready to go into which was really good.
The facilites there were excellent, the kids loved the water walkers!!! The entertainment and the shows were fantastic.
The only bad point was having to leave the van at 10am as we all wanted a lay in!
I will definitely recommend this park to my friends and family and i suggest you experience it for yourself, it was a great family holiday and we will be returning.

Our family holiday for 2 adults and 3 children was booked for the 30 October 2009 to the 2 November 2009 inc.
The caravan was classed as 'Gold'.
Acommodation was filthy worn out and the air was polluted with the smell of stale cigarette smoke animal hair topped by an overwhelming damp musty smell.
The majority of light bulbs were u/s and the carpets were covered in mud food and hair - crockery etc not in a fit state for its intended purpose.
Metal action bed in the lounge area was broken beyond repair and heavily soiled!
The caravan was not fit for habitation.
When passing the entertainment area my family had to run the gaunlet from teenagers begging for cigarettes "Got a spare fag!" and for money.
The site is a disgrace and is the worst example of any English holiday resort.
The reception was closed so we left the site posting the keys without unpacking after being on site for a very short time.
MY ADVICE DO NOT HOLIDAY AT THIS PARK RESORT.

I think Valley Farm is the best and friendly caravan park in Essex, we have holidayed in that area for a few years, and its def one of the best kept.
The Team were fantastic, esp Denny, Liam, Hayley and Sam. The team worked very hard and the shows were excellent - very enjoyable.
The pool was fab, everything was clean, and we played minigolf, was a really nice clean park.
Would definately recommend and so looking forward to
