Kupeli Hotel Reviews

10 / 10
May 2008, Mrs Volkan Mendez

The Kupeli hotel is within walking distance of all the major sites in Sultanahmet. The staff is among the friendliest I have seen anywhere. Everyone from the front desk staff to the housekeeping staff made sure we were made to feel welcome. The terrace (where breakfast is... more

wonderful city/good hotel
Very good location, just few minutes walking from major monuments (Blue Mosque, St. Sophia). The hotel rooms were clean and the staff friendly and helpful.
Review of Kupeli Hotel
The hotel is very near to major tourist attractions, which is a bonus, but not only that, the staff is very courteous and helpful, the rooms are clean and tidy, and the service is excellent. Would recommend it to anyone....
Fantastic staff and hotel 10/10
We were a massive family group (45 from 4 months to 72 years old) who booked at short notice when the original hotel could not honour there booking, Umit was fantastic and helped arrange rooms within the Kupeli and the neighbouring hotel at short notice. He also arrange transfers for Sabiha Gokcen airport at a very reasonable price. We were met by Mustafa who was extremely patient and helpful and made sure we all got onto the bus safely. Ibrahim the main receptionist is truly a prince amongst men and showed immense patience and competence in ensuring we were all booked in and looked after whilst we stayed there, he helped organise transport, ferry rides and tram tickets, he also helped in exchanging money and recommend places to see and visit. We stayed for 2 nights in Istanbul and then went to Konya for 2 nights, what was really helpful was that the hotel arranged for our baggage to remain at the hotel and also ensure that breakfast was waiting for us when we returned on our final day. The rooms were very clean and modern and the hotel showed great flexibility in the sleeping arrangements. The location cannot be faulted and is a stone’s throw from many of the main attractions (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Top Kapi). You will not be disappointed with this pearl of a hotel, even though we were a large group and created our own havoc in Turkey Umit and his staff were always helpful and sympathetic. Finally I would like to say a big thanks and congratulate Umit the manager and Murad the owner for making what could have been a very difficult stay in Istanbul such a pleasure and I’m sure if they can cope with us then anyone else’s needs will be no problem
Hotel Kupeli love it..
I did enjoy my 6 days staying at Hotel Kupeli. The hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly. The area is very nice because you have to walk like 5 min. to be at the restaurants, the grand bazaar , Sultan Ahmet, St. Sophia museum, Topkapi Palace. I recommend everyone to stay at this hotel. I love Istanbul, Thanks Hotel Kupeli for everything.
I Had a great holiday in this wonderfull city and a great time in this hotel
We stayed there from December 28 to January 8 and we have really enjoyed the friendliness, helpfulness and service from the hotel and staff. The stay was based on bed and breakfast. The breakfast is very extensive and varied menu. Thanks to the favorable and central location, easy to visit all the sights. In the area there are nice restaurants and bars located. I recommend this hotel to anyone who intends to stay in Istanbul! I wish you a pleasant stay in Hotel Kupeli
Great Find in a Great Location
Just returned from my first visit to Istanbul. A wonderful trip made better by my stay at Kupeli Hotel. From the hotel arranged airport transfer until check out five days later, I was well taken care of by the very competent and friendly hotel staff. Both Cengiz and Ibrahim, who manned the Reception Desk, where able to answer all of my questions, in very good English, and made excellent suggestions regarding directions, restaurants and shops. (I must recommend a nearby restaurant. One minute walk from Kupeli, great local food cooked in a brick oven. Cengiz can give you the name.) The Kupeli Hotel is very clean, with excellent daily housekeeping. Bathrooms are roomy and very modern with plenty of hot water and strong water pressure; beds firm and comfortable. Breakfast was simple and filling. Fresh fruit and bread everyday, of course. Cereals, cheeses, olives, eggs, milk, juices, tea, and coffee round out your choices. Bar area is small, but a good place to watch a game on TV, if you are not wanting to be in your room. Located in the Sultanahmet district, it is a short walk north from the hotel to the Light Rail tram, and on to the Cemberlitas Hammam or Grand Bazaar. Heading east from the hotel, it is a bit farther to the Hippodrome and Blue Mosque side of the main sight seeing destinations: the Underground Cistern, Haghia Sophia Museum, and the Topkapi Museum. One of my best days in Istanbul started with a walk south (downhill) from the hotel to the Sea of Marmara. There is a broad sidewalk along the water, where locals stroll or fish. Walking east, I passed sunbathers, fishermen, families picnicking in the parks, and divers harvesting mussels. A very different Istanbul than the one of tour groups and souvenir shops in the historic district. Continuing along the waterfront brings you to the ferry docks and Galata Bridge, where there are many restaurant choices for lunch or dinner. My Hotel Kupeli experience was near perfect. Frankly, I was expecting less based on the current tripadvisor.com ranking of 133 out of 495. I can now only explain that ranking based on the hotel being so new and with so few reviews. Out of curiosity, I visited several hotels in the area with much higher rankings than the Kupeli. Based on getting a sense of those hotels from the lobby ambiance and meeting the reception staff, I can honestly say the Kupeli is very much under-rated gem!
Wonderful Memories from Istanbul
I was first time visiting Istanbul and place was extremely new for me and communication was the biggest problem as very few people can speak English. I feel myself fortunate that my company have booked my stay in Hotel Kulepi, Hotel has got the biggest plus point as it is very near to Blue Mosque, TopKapi palace, just 5 min walk from Hotel. Hotel has got a beautiful terrace having sea view and room cleanliness was very good. If I will talk about best part then hospitality will be the first thing which I shell talk about. It was extremely good more than one can ever think. Hotel staff was very very good specially Mr. Umit INCE and Ibraheem. I have never seen such a humble and helpful staff. They helped us in all the aspect, if you feel any problem; just let them know, forget about any problem in hotel or anywhere in Istanbul. They take care it on personal ground. I strongly recommend Hotel Kupeli for all the people, who are going to visit Istanbul.
"My Fabulous stay"- Sophie
Having never been to turkey before and not knowing what to expect in terms of the hotel and its services,I must admit i was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is situated in the Sultanahmet district which is perfect for tourists and sightsee-ers. It is within five minutes walking distance to the blue mosque and the grand bazaar. The interior of the hotel is beautiful and spacious with the rooms providing a warm relaxing and tranquil atmosphere, once returning from your shopping spree! The hotel staff are extremely friendly lending a helping hand whenever needed be it night or day, provide excellent customer service! Breakfast is provided on the terrace every morning offering a range of foods for all tastebuds. From the terrace you get a superb view of the sea making it a great start to the day. Overall my stay at the kupeli hotel was most enjoyable and I enjopyed every minute. It will be a hotel in which i will definitely be staying in whenever I return to istanbul.
Good position but.............
The main advantage of this new hotel is the position: 5 minutes walking far from Cemberlitas Hammam (and from the tramway station), you can easily arrive to Grand Bazaar, Sultan Hamet and Agia Sofia in 10 minutes. The rooms are not very big, simple but clean. Pay attention to which room they will give you: some rooms have no window (I remember n° 102)!!! The breakfast was awful... thank God Starbuks is very close!
