My girlfriend and I went for 2 weeks to Goa in the middle of April- we managed to get dirt cheap flights (less than £250!) So thought we would treat ourselves on the accommodation. I always fancied staying in Villas instead of a hotel or beach resort and liked the look of Coco Shambhala from the web. We weren’t disappointed, the place is fantastic- very romantic and peaceful. I know “tropical paradise” is a bit of a cliché- but that’s as best I can describe it- lush swimming pool a few steps from your door- private jet pool- very stylish décor- the works! I went “travelling” round Goa back in the early 1990’s – and was reluctant to go back, fearing that its turning too much like a Magaluf type package resort. Yet with splashing out a bit on staying at Coco Shambhala we had the luxury of a being a top class villa and being away from the main tourist beach you can still see real village life nearby- eat the freshest fish at the ultra friendly-ultra cheap- simple local shacks or have a 5min drive out to some of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at. It was painful to have to leave and we are already arranging a trip back this winter.

Absolutely Agree. What a place. From the moment we walked around the corner we found paradise! It was different from anywhere we've stayed before. I could really get used to the outdoor lifestyle and sat here in England following a cold bank holiday weekend I just wish we were there. We spent most of our time lazing around the place enjoying the views and wildlife from our balcony, interspersed with dips in the jacuzzi and beautiful pool. Our only complaint is that we couldn't drag ourselves away to explore Goa a bit more. We also stopped in Mumbai for a couple of nights on the way there and that was certainly an experience to remember, although not sure if I'd do it again, probably best to fly direct to Goa.
