The staff could not have been more helpful. The individualised room was lovely and warm and as it was snowing outside, that was very welcome. Our daughter had a room within our room space which was lovely.
We ate a couple of times. The menu perhaps tries a little too hard and one meal ended with one of our party, having dined on fish, being up all night inspecting the bathroom!
The one thing I felt really unhappy with was that dogs were welcome. MORE than welcome.... they were everywhere! On the chairs in the bar, in the restaurant, in the reception area. The only place to get away was in our room, which admittedly didn't smell doggy.
This is a shame because it is in a superb location, we had a very clean room and bathroom and as previously mentioned the staff were great.
One other little niggle, I wasn't particularly keen to know about the owner, who had quite a mention in the booklet in our room, nor to see his family photo's, which were everywhere in the public areas. As it doesn't seem to be a family home, I don't quite see why!?
We would perhaps return for the location but we would not dine.
