First time with all-inclusive Club Med and it was great! After a long day on the slopes it was fantastic to be able to relax in the bar with a drink without worrying about the cost. The Club Med staff could not have been more welcoming, helpful and, above all, enthusiastic - nothing was too much trouble!
The food was wonderful - it was all buffet and you could help yourself to as much or as little as you wanted - the choice was huge. Included in the package was lunch at a mountain restaurant if you wanted, which was handy if you didn't want to ski back to the hotel.
Before arriving we were slightly worried that the hotel was a little distance from the ski lifts but there was no problem at all because a fleet of mini-buses was always on hand to transport us to the lifts - again as part of the package.
All-day ski lessons were included. Our instructor was really good and we progressed well. We stayed with him all week as the weather was bad (blizzards and fog) so we thought this was safest but we could have skied on our own if we had wanted to. There was no lesson on the last day. The ski hire shop was within the hotel, which was really convenient.
We went with our teenage children and hardly saw them all week, which is how they preferred it, no doubt. They skied with the teenager group and ate with them in the evenings a few times as well.
The hotel room was fairly spacious - we had a lobby area where we could hang salopettes and jackets and a roomy shower room as well as the comfortable bedroom - the beds were 3 foot twins pushed together to make a large double. This was ok for the kids in their bedroom too, as they were able to separate them to make two singles.
There was light entertainment each evening, mostly in the "theatre", but we can't comment on this as we didn't go. From about 22:30 there was a disco in the bar - usually we missed this as we were already in bed, but we stayed up on the last two nights and found ourselves dancing along to all the old favourites ("I will Survive" etc.).
The one slight complaint we had was that there was a "smoking room" with an entrance from the bar and, as the evening progressed and the door to this room was opened more times, the smoke filtered into the bar, causing a quite unpleasant atmosphere. We mentioned this to one of the reps, who said this had been pointed out by others. Hopefully they will have done something to remedy this by next April, when we return!
This was the best holiday we have had - the whole family thoroughly enjoyed it and we thought it excellent value for money.
