At first when we arrived we were disappointed with the room that we were given, the balcony overlooked a flat roof and we had a partial view of the mountains. We took our disappointment to Thomson, who at the initial phonecall were supportive and understanding. However we were to be confronted with another view when we finally were seen at the resort Thomson offices (having been given three times for the opening of the offices 4.00 p.m., then 4.30 and finally 5.00 p.m. - the rep turning up at 5.15 p.m.). The rep told us that we would have to pay 60 euros per night (7 nights accommodation at Tenne) and the cost of the other hotel, to change hotels to get a better view and this would represent more than the initial cost of the holiday (flight, transfer and hotel). We returned to the hotel having also been given information about car hire (which we requested) and which we later found out was inaccurate and also very expensive. The Hotel which came up trumps for us giving us excellent service and kindness and also arranging our hire car without any commission. All in all we expected nothing from the Hotel Tenne and we received the most wonderful service and also a great welcome. I would recommend the Hotel to anyone, regardless of whether you get half a view! but I think that Thomson let us down dreadfully and could not recover from the obvious lack of care and consideration for us. The Hotel Tenne acted with complete professionalism and integrity and gave us a wonderful holiday in Soll.

We have just returned from a late deal holiday to Soll and stayed at the Hotel Tenne.



This is a gem of a hotel for the price (£175 half board) - very clean, very friendly staff and very good food.



The room, we stayed on the second floor front, with balcony, was compact but more than adequate for a week’s holiday. Everything looked new and in good condition with a refurbished bathroom and superb shower.



The only slight drawback was the location, set back from the main road it did suffer from early morning traffic noise, and with the church bells going off at 6.45am each morning at the rear you really do need your ear plugs (and eye shades) if you want to sleep in.



Other useful info... the rooms at the rear did not seem to have a balcony, our room had a hair dryer and a small safe.



In the Soll area there was a free bus service (talk of charging in future) which saves a fortune getting up and down the valley to Scheffau and Elmau and Going - it no longer goes to Itter.

We have just returned from a week in Soll staying at the Hotel Tenne.



There were 4 of us in our group (all adults aged between 27 & 30).



We all loved the resort - there was minimal snow which is apparently very unusual for this time of year but we still managed to find plenty of snow higher up the mountains so no problems for skiing.



We would also recommend taking a bus to Scheffau (only about 5-10 mins away) as the skiing there is fantastic.



We would all certainly recommend the Hotel Tenne. The hotel was very homely, the staff were very hospitable, food was lovely and location was perfect!!



If we were to return to this resort (which we may well do!) then we would certainly return to the Hotel Tenne.

My wife and I went to Soll, Austria for a week skiing for Xmas and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was one of the most enjoyable and relaxing holidays we ever had. No stress worrying about things at all. The hotel staff were friendly and the location was excellent.



Soll is a great place because it is small and not too crowded. The skiing was great too, the best snow in 20 years they say.



Thanks for a great Xmas holiday.
