Gansleit Hotel
With its first class service and fine food, combined with a warm and friendly welcome from the English owner Steve and his family, guests return to the Gänsleit year after year. Steve even takes his guests skiing every week, showing them the highlights of Söll. When snow conditions permit, you can ski right back to the hotel.
The hotel is 4 minutes walk to resort centre, 8 minutes to the gondola and 5 minutes to the nursery slopes.

A fantastic place to stay!!! We were made welcome from the minute we arrived to the moment we left. A really friendly atmosphere at all times. The food was excellent with good choice and a chance to try the local quisine also. The town of Soll is beautiful and although this was our first visit, it certainly won't be out last. We are already looking forward to our next visit to Austria and the Gansleit!!

This was our fourth vist to Soll and our first, but certainly not last at the Gansleit.
We were made extremely welcome by the whole family and staff who made us feel more like friends than guests.
The hotel is second to none, close to the centre of the village and ideal for touring the Tirol. The food was superb and the menu excellent (a choice of three main courses each evening) giving a good indication of Tirolean cuisine.
We are looking forward to our next stay at the Gansleit.

Despite previous positive reviews, we have been very disappointed with the hotel, especially the food.
The breakfast is okay, with choice of cereal, home made bread, cheese and ham and with welcoming croissants and home made cake for one day. The evening meal is very disappointing. Every single day there is no choice for starter apart from clear soup. There are three main courses that you can choose from, one of them is vegetarian, but the other two courses are very basic. The portions are very small too. The drinks are expensive, with tap water charged 1 euro a glass. If you like your food, don't stay at this hotel.
The owner is very friendly and helpful though.
Overall, we were disappointed that we had chosen to stay at this hotel. We won't be back!

The food was perfect, the view was fabulous and the staff were so caring and helpful!
One of the best holidays I've ever been on.
If you're going to Soll then I would definatly recommend staying at the Gansleit hotel.
It has a very unique relaxation room.
We also discovered that it had a fitness room and a massaging room.
The hotel also had a brilliant sauna.

What a great place to stay. We were a party of 6, 4 adults, and 2 teenagers.
The food was that good that the teenagers only turned their noses up at one meal and Rosi went out of her way to make them something else.
Accommodation was always clean, and we were kept amused at what shape the bedding would be made into after being made up in the mornings.
A nice, heated boot / drying room on the ground floor is a must for a skiing holiday, and gave us warm clothes to put on in the mornings. Ski storage in a hut across the road and the ski bus on the doorstep.
Steve, Rosi, Opa and Oma just couldn't be nice enough. Nothing seemed too much trouble. (oh, and Steve skis you into the ground if you let him).
Thanks to all the staff. We are definitely going back.

For a couple looking for a mixture of relaxing, with some activity and fun this definitely ticked all the boxes. The food was a little strange as the dishes were mainly Austrian but I have to say the atmosphere of the place was really refreshing.
Steve encouraged people to sit together and make new friends which we did and thoroughly enjoyed. The hotel was clean and well kept. The family owners definitely take pride in the place and work hard to ensure you have a good holiday.
Steve did guided ski runs on some days which were great as I am a learner and my partner a good skier. This meant he could go on challenging runs whilst I attended ski school. The new friends we met at dinner, we also came across in many of the bars around the town.
Found the Soll area very friendly. There is a great facility to leave skis and boots near the lifts, where they will be kept safe and warm (boots) each night, there is a small charge but it is well worth it. Soll has plenty of lockers at lifts on the piste and toilet facilities are good. Would definitely recommend.

If you have read the previous listings then there isn't much to add as this hotel and its staff is a joy to behold. The hotel is clean and tidy in every way from the moment you arrive till you leave it’s a pleasant experience. The food is very good and it’s made by the family.
On site with product tracing back to the supplier on the menu. They take no for an answer if you insist that you are full after your meal, you are allowed into the kitchens to see your food being made so you know how your food is being made to the health standards. My partner has dietary needs which can be hard to fill at the best of times but Steve and the team not only knew the condition but were able to cater and inform us as to which dishes were suitable and when the regular dishes were unsuitable they made special ones for my partner at no extra cost to us.
The family run hotel is just that you feel at home even as a guest, people mix and chat and no wonder people return year after year it’s that good! The hotel is close to almost everything but far enough away to get good nights sleep.
The resort itself is small with a very limited number of shops; we counted 19 in total but we could be wrong. The beginners slope is a cow field! So if you're timid then it’s ok for you. The skiing is good for beginners and intermediates look out for the run home, run is so much fun to do.
I am only sorry that I didn’t go with Steve on his ski days as time did not allow it but I will next time as we will be returning to Soll and to the above hotel as its too good not to.

As a single traveller and a vegetarian I'm used to being put in the broom cupboard and grudgingly fed chips all week. The Gansleit was a refreshing change. Lovely room with a view across the valley and really tasty vegetarian food which had taken considerable thought and effort to provide.
Being family owned and run, the hotel has a lively and very friendly atmosphere. Plenty of advice on-hand on local walks, climbs, cycle rides etc. Where else would you be escorted to your coach and waved off by the owner and his family?

First class hotel. You are made feel part of Steve and Rosa Maria's family. The food cooked by Rosa was first class, service and staff were of the highest standard. The hotel has won many awards from tour operators, now I know why! An excellent hotel for families to go to, outdoor play area will keep kids amused for hours, there are also plenty of toys inside the hotel to keep little ones amused.
We will hopefully be back before the year is out.

A brilliant holiday in a superb hotel in a lovely resort. The Gansleit was everything you could want from a hotel - Steve and Rosie and their family made us feel very welcome and the food and service was second to none.
The mid-week barbecue was a lovely surprise. Steve even lent my Father-In-Law a walking stick for the week as he had left his back in the UK.
I cannot recommend the Gansleit highly enough, and we will definitely be going back, possibly next September to see the cows come home.

From the excellent reception we received upon arrival to the hospitality we received from Steve and his family, The Hotel Gansleit has everything you could possible want from a ski holiday.
The room was immaculate, the food sets you up for a long days skiing and then helps you to recover and relax at the end of the day.
Its modern facilities and attention to detail are some of the best I have seen.
All in all you need to see to fully appreciate this wonderful Hotel.

This hotel came recommended by our son and we can see why. Having spent several years visiting Soll in the winter, we have stayed in a variety of 3 and 4/4+ star hotels in this resort.
Some hotels were homely but too far from the slopes and nightlife; one in the town had good food but was formal and unfriendly; one was beautiful but miles from anywhere.
The Gansleit beat them all on by ticking all the boxes; friendliness, food, accommodation and location.
We could walk to the town in 5 minutes, as well as the slopes if we chose to. We shall certainly return. Many of the guests were return-visitors.
Even if we hadn't been able to ski, we had such a good time in the hotel and enjoying the evenings, we laughed so much, it wouldn't have mattered about the snow. Steve, Rosi and the rest of the family are all super people and so welcoming.
We have booked next Christmas already!

Having stayed there on a number of visits to soll. This year was a problem with the hotel being fully booked so I stayed elsewhere but still returned to the welcome of Steve, Hans, Rosie, Anna and the rest of the family every evening for the great food and warm and friendly evenings by the bar.
Truly one of the best run in soll, even with Robbie causing mayhem on the ski run at night causing us all to enjoy a night of sliding on our backsides with howls of laughter.

Stayed at this hotel September 05 for hubby's birthday - all we can say is; fabulous welcome upon arrival and it was the annual 'Cow Festival' in Soll, real carnival atmosphere whereupon the beasts are herded from the top of the alps for their winter housing and it was really magnificent.
As far as the hotel is concerned, can not fault the food, atmosphere and it is only a five minute walk to the centre of the village where there are great restaurants and the food is exquisite. Would definitely go back for another trip probably again on September 24th - so relaxing and scenery to really die for.
A word of warning; ensure you diet before you leave for your holiday to this hotel because you would certainly arrive back more than a few pounds heavier.
Well worth a visit to this great family run hotel.

This is a family run hotel equivalent to 3 star but extremely friendly and homely. The Austrian family daughter married an Englishman when she met him on the slopes; he had taken a tumble and broken his leg. They fell in love and married. He is now the hotel manager and takes care of the clients acting as a ski guide 3 to 4 days each week at no cost.
The accommodation is spotless, very comfortable, homely and situated close to the slopes with courtesy buses every day. It is possible to ski back to the hotel.
The food is a mix of local cuisine and wholesome meat and potatoes. Extras are always available. The staff are extremely friendly and always accommodating. there is a steam, sauna, Jacuzzi suite available to all. An indoor outdoor hot and cold swimming pool nearby.
I have been going there for many years and stayed at 5 star hotels which tend to be informal and unfriendly. I always book my room a year in advance at the Gansleit. I return this year on the 16th February where I will meet many friends met over the years at the Gansleit. I can hardly wait.
I have also been there in the summer season and the scenery is as wonderful as the snowy season. It really is a great, interesting and friendly atmosphere.
