The Feldwebel hotel was one of the best hotels we have stayed in, in a ski resort.
Food was excellent although service at the bar was slow due to the number of staff giving priority to customers purchasing meals.
However, Soll is NOT a resort I would recommend for beginners.
Most of the runs around Soll are red runs. If you have a poor year for snow, like we did, then all the low runs are in such poor condition that beginners and low intermediates need to head to the Scheffau bowl.
As the ski bus does not link the various towns, it is necessary to catch a taxi there and a taxi back costing 24 euros each day (for four persons).
We decided it was worth paying the extra as our party found many of the runs around Soll too difficult.
Scheffau had the best snow and was far more central to the ski area.
The only disadvantage of staying in Scheffau is that the après ski is limited.
However, if skiing is your main priority, then this is the best place to stay.

I have travelled all Europe with Northern Tours Holidays (Coaches) over the past 15 years and this has been one of the best hotels I have stayed in.
Hotel accommodation was superb with very large bedroom and one of the passengers had a very large bedroom with 4-poster bed. Our bedroom had a balcony and the nicest views one could wish for.
Staff are very helpful and courteous. The owner even ran one of the passengers who wanted to do something different from the rest of the party up to the top lake and she had a splendid walk back to the hotel (3 hours). The food is absolutely excellent and very well presented and there is plenty of it.
The last evening was a typical Tyrolean meal. Everybody on the trip without exception would like to go back again. There are plenty of local bars all very sociable.
The Dorfstubn bar directly behind Feldwebel was the one we used most because of comfort and very charming and welcoming staff. Superb holiday all round.
